for the storage system, make it look like something from 'Indiana jones', where its like the inside of a tomb that the sphinx is 'protecting'. also, you can make that doorway in the stairs be hidden with redstone, like a secret door you have to unlock to get inside.

iskall you could use trapdoors instead of stairs, that way you won't need to destroy those chests to place them. Birch trapdoors are sandy-colored, but they have a hole that would let people see through though. Maybe use a solid one like (chocolate) dark oak or spruce. Thanks for your videos dude, they are very inspiring.

Hey Iskall I have a shop suggestion, how about you make a "Respawn" shop? It would sell pre-enchanted tools, armor etc. I think it's a great idea especially with Grian on the server...

It's 80% done, so naturally he's bored and won't finish it. JK, iskallian for life bro

Color scheme.. Red and blue, separated by the sand(stone). This is the trade room of the two kindoms, where they come in to exchange items, full of distrust from their long and bloody history. :D

Make the floor full of Acacia log and the sealing is made of Aquarium! And maybe some sort of sandy statue in the entrance ?

epic underground vault made of terracotta and glazed terracotta. with some nice gold blocks for that extra something.

Thank you so much for explaining the storage system, I always see people explain the same parts of the redstone but I never knew how hoppers move items or why item sorters overflow at 41.

You should design the storage room as a tomb! Also it might not be your style, but there are storage systems that are relatively small and can sort every item in minecraft. For ex: impulse created one where you don't need a separate chest for each item

...I really want to know Iskall's reaction to having his vault broken into so ingeniously by False.

It's always handy to have an additional input that is a shulker box unloader, which can be as simple as a hopper, so after a project you can easily return extra supplies to be sorted.

Inside design idea: lots of glazed terracotta with a giant flaming brazier in the center. Majestic AF.

Iskall, it hurts to say this, but at 19:36 you broke the rules of the grian head hunt by storing grian heads in a chest.

At 2:39 he says "I don't think it will cut it" and he pulls out axe and cuts crafting table

Use a water elevator for the items entering the system and use water stream to zip around the upper layer including over the mass storage silos. This will make sorting so much faster. Also, at the bottom dump your items directly into a water stream that goes on ice past a sign into the upward water elevator. This saves so much time and eliminates the ticking sound from the dropper. At the end of the upper line, if you're worried items will pile up on the hoppers that go down to the lower hopper chain, then just put a hopper minecart inside a block and then repeat that 5 times going up to the upper layer, that way items will be absorbed by the hopper minecarts which can store 25 stacks of items temporarily until the items get taken by the lower hopper chain. Also, the backward sandstone stairs don't look so good on top of the chests, just put them in forward, that way you have easier access to the chests above; this is especially important if you put item frames on the front of those chests! Lastly, super cool video, looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

Don't worry too much about which types of logs are easier to cut down. Ren has a new alliance with Impulse and they've created a monstrosity that explodifies every kind of tree except dark oak! And since Ren just buys out ConCorp every day, they don't have to cut that type anyways xD

You could have the staircase under the staircase in the sphinx lead to a tunnel that leads to the ice base. It could be a dolphin tunnel! That storage system is huge! Awesome Video Iskall!

In a desert, one of the most luxurious materials could be water. Perhaps waterlogged slabs and stairs in a pattern under glass for the floor? Quartz or Sandstone. Plus red accents, to tie in with the sand kingdom.

Oh, nononono... you *HAVE* to continue the "Sandy Kingdom" theme. Make it all look as if this was built by some long-ago tribe of Egyptian villagers. It's already pretty much Egyptian in form, as it is--and, you MUST complete the Sphinx's body and head (and the face should be that of either a Bumbo or a lion--Bumbo Lioni??).

You could add some red swirly stuffs and water. Iskall says: Go ahead, hit like button likea so! xD

I think it should look like a pharaoh's tomb inside, since it's holding all your treasures :)

"Cutting it" as you chop down a crafting table in the wood shop. XD OH! You could have the input chest at the feet of the Sphinx as if you are honoring it and giving it gifts. Also, Mumbo made a secret stair way with half slabs. I know it works in 1.13.1 as I built it in my Single player world. That might be neat for your stair way 83 Also, for the inside of the sphinx you could put an Oasis. Somewhere a pharaoh/royal could go to swim or sit under trees as there really isn't any trees in the desert. So it being in the sphinx naturally makes it reserved for royalty.

Hey dude, why are the Ice and Sand kingdoms enemies? Why can't they be allies who have strong trade ties and share their cultures through various celebrations? It's nice to think that, despite being very different, the two cultures could exist without slaughtering each other.

You should have a shulker unloading system so you can just empty a lot of shulkerboxes easily, for example if you just have a shulkerbox full of junk, place it in the system and it will automatically empty and sort the items to the right place! :D

The storage system can be designed as a mix of all the kingdom designs and the lore for it can be that in the past all kingdoms were allies

Putting the storage system in the Sphinx was exactly what I was thinking while you was talking about where to put it!

for anyone to want to reduce lag in machines like this- cover all hoppers that aren't needing a stream or other input method - with droppers or dispensers., an uncovered hopper (covered with a container) will constantly "suck items" causing lag in builds like this, especially when in use

The secret passage could lead to your input and overflow place. Practical because your first and last sorted items are nearby.

Iskall, u could design it so that it is inside the body of the Sphinx, and all the different chest are pharaoh coffins, and the item elevator could be a support pillar.

Iskall is the only one who starts a new project in the middle of making previous one

Use gold, the sphinx should be your tomb(armor stand) with all the items you will carry with you in the afterlife, which fits because when you die you keep everything in the system.

The sphinx and the pyramids are just graves and the ancient Egyptians used to put their wealth in their graves especially the pharaohs as they believe it goes with them to after life or something like that. it just makes sense to be majestic

Red terracotta pattern in the floor, with stone bricks and smooth sandstone. That would look awesome imo

I have to say that your little montage of building the system around the 14:00 minute mark needed a strong motivating song. It was a unique way of doing it too(video wise), I liked it.

Its because mumbo's storage system is very big.

id say for designing, do it somewhere in between somethin different and matching the sandy kingdom. bring in SMALL elements of the kingdom, like maybe the banners, or the red stripe or something, but outside of that, make it much more elegant and fancy inside. It is a sphinx after all. the premise of a sphinx is of course an extravagant tomb. make that storage room pretty! lol

Since I watch mambo i was having high expectations, but I gotta remember Iskall isn’t a spoon with an over abundance of materials

I think the storage system should have a very lavish and luxurious design using gold and diamond blocks, glazed terracotta and maybe some quartz

if you go [full-block -> stair -> slab] downwards as a repeating pattern it works as a staircase with a 1:3 slope

In the sandy kingdom i think you should build the castle in like a Aladdin / egyptian style you know, with towers with dose cholored things at the top Like if you agree

Agent iskall of the 85th you do know that there is a wrench that can turn blocks about that can flip blocks about (it's part of the extra bits that make hermitcraft special)

Your storage system should be built out of obsidian gold and quartz, make it gilded like many ancient Egyptian relics :) Think of your sandy kingdom king as wealthy and opulent

You could put another layer of chests that's connected to the bottom chests, so the bottom chests will have 3 double chests instead of 2.

I think it would be really cool to see if you could incorporate some glazed terra-cotta into the Sphinx design. The white, brown, or yellow ones mixes well with sandstone, or maybe you could do a pop of color by keeping red, or doing green/lime green. The red banner can still be an accent to the build, and you can go ancient style by making some of the lighting fire. (Fire tick is off, right?) Excited to see you get organized and to have a mega base. 💕

hey iskall, maybe consider designing the room like a fairyland's artificial forest? With a lot of bright green and brown blocks you can make it look very magestical and unique place, plus you didn't build like that yet!

Somthing I was thinking this entire episode. The storage is under the sphinx on hermitcraft. And there is supposedly a massive library storage under the sphinx in Egypt.

You could enter the items into the bulk storage at the back then into the array on the left (as you look at the back) then around into the other side. Would essentially be the same flow you have, just a different starting point

ISKALL CHECK INSIDE OF THE ICE BASE MUMBO LEFT YOU A GIFT. Also mumbo is creeping in there to make sure you don't use a pick. But it looks like he didn't put obsidian under it so you could probably brake the ice then use pistons to break the shelker boxes.

You should get Mumbo to help you make the “secret” downstairs in your Storage system a flush piston door

You could make a majestic cave with a low light system ans red carpets everywhere. Maybe add a glass floor with cool features under it (I don't have more ideas so I'm not telling really specifics things)

Instead of stairs use black Staind Glass.. transparent blocks still allow chests to open and it'll look good with the design.. You could also do something with lapis to look like a proper Egyptian Temple

Heemitcraft has a wrench tool that will rotate bolcks. That would alow you to place the stares and rotate them how you want them.

Maybe for a room a giant pyramid will fit .. It will look good behind the statue :)

You could make it look like a ancient Egyptian tomb because that’s the kind of style are you going for

The inside of an temple and terracotta would be a good block to use

a speed beacon is a good idea in a storage room to get your items faster

I think it'd look grander to split the staircase to each side so you have to turn left or right when you come in, go down half way, then turn back in for the next half

you should make it look like a dungeon, with a bit of a cultist feel, maybe make a big blue fire in the middle

You can rotate blocks, the hermitcraft server has a datapack to allow you to craft the debugging stick. (Like so he see's please :) )

I would stick to the Sandy style, but put some red in there to keep with your town theme. Some nice red on the floor would look great. You could use red carpet to hide the light and it would fit in very well.

Use dark primarine for the storage system Ps this is a joke and the would look horrendous

Iskall you should use bubble item elevators for the sorting system. They are much fast and fun to use. Love the storage room idea though very much good job.

i have an idea for your input chest design. since its a sphinx you could make them have a statue like the ancient Egyptian statues outside of temples or other buildings. and that will allow for you to hide the item elevator without having to make a pillar out of some random building material.

Kind of a mummy styled room like in a pyramid with some blues and gold
