Honestly I’m going to Paris soon and I won’t even bother there. I will visit the boutiques to see what they have but It won’t be a quest for a bag. I play the game in my home store. I want to enjoy Paris for what it is and not spend so much time trying for a bag. I heard so many stories like yours and I don’t think Paris is the place anymore, it had changed . Well even in store it had changed, the pre spend is higher than ever. The hype is real now. Anyway at least you scored a mini Kelly, it’s already a lot!

I see your point. Yes I put a section in my Paris guide to also decide time/effort/vacation. It’s such a personal decision if the Hermes game in Paris is worth it. I hope you get something good at your local Hermes and enjoy your trip!

I'm just curious who gets an appointment with the VIP of sales? Looks like going this route is not the same as trying to set up an appointment through a lottery system. 😕

@@madame491 you’re right. You need to be a big spender (in the hundreds of thousands per year) or a celebrity to go to vip

I really loved hearing this story and what a great takeaway message about time being precious. I was contemplating doing the same thing of applying for the appointment lottery while I’m in Italy and SOF but I will be going with my husband and daughter and if I do secure an appointment, this would mean I would be away for them. Thank you for sharing this as it just confirmed this avenue is not the best for me. I will just try in the locations I am travelling to.

I was thinking of going to Paris this year to try my luck on BKC, but from all stories that I have heard, it might not be a good idea! 😂😢 I believe that this year will be more competitive than last year, even at my local store I don’t see a lot of quota bags get released. Maybe we need to consider a reseller route at this point hahaha

It is competitive but so worth the reward. Since it’s mothership of all Hermes they practically have any bags you want. And at the Euro price point which is 40% cheaper than the us. I’m making a Paris guide - coming out tomorrow. If you’re considering this maybe it’s worth deciding after reading the guide. All of my Paris experiences combined plus everything I know.

I “meet” you through the herbag story. 😂😂 I like many Hermes bags, other than the quota, but herbag is definitely down in the Hermes pyramid 🤓

Your point about the stock in September is incorrect..the bags they have are bags that were made monthsssss or even a year before you were there 😂 so they have the bags there are no bags for you. The good olds days are over and Hermes is closing the valves ..as they should.

Then why did they give me a bag appointment if they are closing their “valves” 🤣 there are months that it’s better to go and there are some months that are not. September is not one of those months regardless if the valve is open or not 🙌

You chose to try to snag a bag instead of spend the time with your family... that was a personal choice. The way you worded it... it is as IF you would have scored a bag when you chose to go off from your family then the time not spent with them would have been acceptable. Since you did not get a bag you look at it as if it is Hermes' fault that you missed out on time spent.... not their fault at all. It is their fault, however, for allowing people to book appts when they have your wishlist in hand and know that they already have a bag shortage and cannot accommodate you on a purchase OR that they do not have a bag that they are WILLING to offer you (bc that is of very high probability). Bag>Family? Lesson learned because you cannot get back time spent or not spent. I really hope that you have better luck on the next appt, if you choose to book another. Hope that you take in what I type and do not interpret it in the wrong manner.

Thanks for your comment. I don’t choose to book an appointment, Hermes gives them at random. If I ever wanted another appointment of course it would be under different circumstances but it’s going to be up to Hermes if to give it or not
