AVROTROS is a Dutch radio and television broadcaster, founded in 2014 from a merger of AVRO and TROS. From January 1st, 2014 the name of the merged broadcaster was used in joint programmes. AVRO was founded in 1923 as the Netherlands first public broadcaster. TROS started broadcasting in 1964. Toppop was a weekly AVRO pop program that was aired between 1970 and 1988.

TopPop was the first regular dedicated pop music TV show in the Dutch language area. Dutch broadcaster AVRO aired the programme weekly, from 1970 to 1988. Presenter Ad Visser hosted the show for its first fifteen years.
World famous music artists performed on TopPop: ABBA, 10CC, Bee Gees, The Jacksons with Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Earth & Fire, Queen, Golden Earring, Boney M, KC & The Sunshine Band, Chic, Donna Summer and many many more.

In een keer ben ik weer een kleine jongen .....wat een talent en stem!
geweldige tijd! ben geboren in de jaren 60 toen was het toch echt beter dan nu! mijn mening. tanks TopPopxxx toen er nog music was!

alles was beter behalve de autoos . liter benzine 75 cent evenals een pilsje toen ook 75 cent. maar het allerbeste de muziek uit de jaren 60...

@@elsgoossen7548 Pas na ruim na 1974 werd de benzine duurder dan een gulden. Benzineprijs per halve liter, weetjenog? Begin jaren zestig was de benzine nog een kwartje.

Met dit lied ben ik opgegroeid. Hilversum 3 > 3FM. maar dit nummer verteld gewoon het hele verhaal hoe het was voor 3FM(Hilversum 3)

@@arino253 There are some differences through, most notably in the sound of the bass. In the original, the bass track is brighter, slightly metallic.

@@arino253 Another thing that Herman Van Veen altered is the way his lyrics compliment the melodies of the verses, while on the original Buchner sings around the melody, Van Veen actually sings along with it. Which is THE way to make a cover song your own.

Lieve Kees, dit soort muziek en artiesten zijn enorm schaars vandaag de dag. En je ziet ze niet in de media.

@@MrDo0bie Ik weet het :( Toen dit uitkwam vond ik het 'gewoon een grappig liedje', door de jaren heen ben ik het, en veel meer muziek als deze, echt leren waarderen.

Ik snap het niet: "...op elke stijger klonk een lied... ... van Paljas of Jeruzalem." Waren er vroeger maar 2 artiesten op hilversum 3, genaamd "Paljas" en "Jeruzalem"?

@@marcushusky388 Ik verstond eerst "Paul Jazoff, Jeruzalem". Officieele tekst zegt "Paljas of Jeruzalem", maar dan snap ik het toch niet.
