@@PLGooner I ended up buying a HM Aeron... Knockoff, lol. I grew up poor, so even though I make money now, I find it difficult to spend that kind of money on a chair. I know the original is an "investment" and it will last longer, but i'm still not 100% that this is my Final chair. Don't want to spend that kind of money and say, "I like it, but I just don't like this part" for that kind of money. Kind of a test drive. So far, very supportive, but will it last?

I must admit, my knowledge is somewhat recent and small on all this, but I have tried quite a few chairs recently. From the Leap V1 Highback, V2, Mirra 2, Haworth Very, Aeron B and C, to the Amia. I would say out of all of them, I think the Mirra 2 is "the best chair" I love the look, the feel, and even the armrests. Everything about the Mirra 2 is exactly what I want, the size is perfect for me. I even bought the exact same colorway you did. However, with my flat rear-end, I just slide right into that plastic frame and get the tailbone pain. Currently I have an Aeron Size B that causes no tailbone pain whatsoever, even after 8+ hours, but it's hard to recline in due to the back being smaller. I tried my father's size C chair, and that convinced me to throw up a trade offer for a fully loaded C on FB marketplace. The Aeron C is the closest thing I can get to a Mirra 2 without it being a Mirra 2, so far anyway.. Really I just wish I could have the seat of the Aeron Size B, with the back of a Size C or a Mirra 2, but tis only a dream. Edit: I also lucked into a Mirra 2 to use at work, but since I don't recline at the office, I don't have much issue tailbone wise.

My first "good" computer chair was the Mirra 2, then I went on a journey to find an even better chair. Basically tried maybe 10-12 high end mesh chairs and ended up returning ALL OF THEM because none of them felt as good as the Mirra 2. I didn't like the Aeron either because it dug into my legs.

I have an ancient Mirra 1 with most options beside the butterfly back and forward tilt. I love this thing, the back is definitely the best thing about it. I was sus about the bare plastic back, but I find it perfectly fine, and now that I think of it, I think I prefer it that way just to avoid the rim around the edge of the butterfly back. The armpads look funky, but the shape has function, the forward slope keeps them level when leaning back. At this point I wouldn't consider replacing this with anything but another Mirra.

In the market for a chair, after sitting in the Mirra 2 for a bit I am starting to lean towards it. I am not 100% sure though if I'll hate the mesh after using an ergo chair for long hours. I am currently using some garbage chair and tend to slouch and create strain in my lower back often. It looks like that forward tilt feature and the seat pan adjustment would be extremely beneficial for me, but I'm still checking on other options.

Great looking chair with those colors. I was eying some used ones. However, I got a Herman Miller Celle fully loaded for a great price. It's discontinued so barely gets any mention anywhere, but I love it. Snap on fabric pads on the seat and back and the synchro tilt from high end models is smooth, quiet, awesome. I don't think I would like the Celle with without the fabric (not mesh) pads on both the seat and back, but the Mirra 2 looks like decent material for mesh lovers. Celle has a nice wide seat too, but I really like the adjustable waterfall on the Mirra. Luckily with the Celle I get 2-3 fingers between my legs with outermost depth setting (I'm 5'9). I would love to see a used market Celle video if you get an itch for it. Maybe you can help someone find a diamond in the rough like I feel I have. It's so quiet too except the arms creak just a little. It's also very upright and does the forward tilt which I use for tasking. Great vid btw.

I like the M2. I have the Logitech Embody for over 2yrs now and I work from home full-time. I spend 12+hrs per day 7 days a week and the Embody is super comfy. I often at times sit so long that I forget to go to break because I'm super comfy all the time. I have not tried any other HM chair except for the Gaming Sayl and it was comfy but not as comfy as the Embody. Overall, imo the Logitech Embody is the best chair money can buy. I recently had to use the 12yr warranty and the process was a pita because I had to ship the chair back to DWR to have my seat pan replaced. They no longer send techs out to your house. All repairs are being done at the factory which wasn't bad but it was a pita. Thanks.

Hi! That video isn’t planned (but could add for the future!!), so here’s my quick take: the embody is a much more flexible chair, both in actual feel since it bends with you, and in terms of sitting bc it has soft edges everywhere. If you’re heavier (200lbs+), you may find yourself leaning back in an embody a bit more though bc it’s so flexible, whereas the mirra is much more of a rigid chair and keeps you upright. The embody is my favorite chair of all time bc of its flexibility and how it molds to your body. With the headrest coming out very soon from atlas headrest, the embody is the best chair imho. Hope this helps! If you decide to pick up (20-25% off sale now!), please consider using my links as it helps my channel a LOT and if you’re unsure, I always tell people to take advantage of the excellent return policy and buy both and return the one you don’t like!

Thanks for this review, I appreciate it. Question, do you think the lumbar support on the Mirra 2 goes up higher into the midback area then any of the lumbar options for the Aeron remastered (i.e posture fit/lumbar pad etc) ? I'm essentially after a chair that gives good pressure support higher up into the midback area (that's just how my spine likes it) and also allows a straight to more forwards back tilt. I found that Aeron remastered does go nice and forward in the back tilt, however the posture fit I tried was more focused on lower back pressure and didn't come up the back high enough where I like it. Appreciate any other recommendations you might have. Cheers

Thank you very much for the good content and review. I really need your advice. Last year I bought 2 mid range chairs from Every and Loeffler but they were very uncomfortable and hence returned. Aggressive lumbar, bad seat and … so I decided to spend more. Haworth and Steelcase offer poor warranty in Europe and I've heard a lot of bad comments about the Haworth's quality control in Europe. I simply cannot settle down for a s***ty warranty, when paying for a high end chair. That leaves HM as the only reputable brand with 12 year warranty in Europe. There are a lot of complains about those 2 hard nodes at the back of the Embody, which you mentioned in one of your reviews as well. What would you say for the comparison between Aeron and Mirra 2?

  • @Ahnestly

I'm trying to buy a new chair. The forward tilt on this chair is really nice to relieve some pressure on the back of my legs but the tailbone issue you mentioned is deterring me from buying it...still looking. Any tips? Forward tilt is super important to me because it seems like every chair I've ever sat in digs into the back of my thighs more than I would like cutting off circulation. Mesh or padding doesn't matter to me but I think padding may be nicer because I like to sit how your wife does cross legged and I think all meshes seem to have a hard rim which disables that. I'm kind of leaning toward the Steelcase Gesture because it has a big ass seat and you said it doesn't feel like a plastic plate when bottoming out but I'm not sure.

I stopped getting leg pain after setting it correctly, however the seat width and depth felt a bit too small for me. I ended up switching to the Aeron size c, and the difference in the flexibility of the mesh was significant. The Mirra 2 is still a really underrated chair, and definitely a lot less polarising than the Aeron.

@@StardustLegacyFighter Wasn't even aware of the brands. When I finally took the decision I needed to pay 1,600 for a chair. HM was a brand many friends told me about So I started a 20 hours research reading and listenging to different HM chairs. Many case scenarios and so forth. Was initially between Mirra 2 and Aeron...when I arrived at the store and felt Mirra 2 wasn't for me, and there was another called Embody. So that started ANOTHER 15 hour research comparing Aeron and Embody. Really didn't notice there were other brands. Now...don't get me wrong, the Embody is a great chair. Just noticed Fern's cushion was more comfortable and the armreset could be set a bit higher. HOWEVER they are a bit more far apart (maybe the version I tried didn't have adjustable arms). ALSO CONSIDER...don't think Embody/Fern because are more expensive are better chairs for your body. Mirra 2 is a solid chair, and of course Aeron. You have to try them out for 2 hours each to really test them. Let your back, thighs and legs make the decision

@freedonx Ah I see, I was fortunate enough to know about Steelcase and Haworth, thanks to coming across Ahnestly and also BTOD via KZread. For me, knowing about these other brands didn't make any difference, since Steelcase reduced their warranty to 5 years in the EMEA, and Haworth has very limited chairs available here in the UK. I tried the Mirra 2 first, since it's a chair I got to try out at my friend's office, and I had a great first impression of it. Unfortunately, once I got my own Mirra 2, the seat pan wasn't large enough, and I experienced quite a bit of thigh pain. So I decided to swap it for the Aeron remastered size c, and that ended up being the best decision for me.

I think the fern without lumbar is better than the gesture, but the gesture is also a solid option. Personally as a tall guy I never had a problem with the plastic in the lower back and hip. In fact I found it to be one of the few chairs to give me support without pressing my L1 because it gave away to my back and flexes. Unfortunately as an 6'2" guy, I found out that I am too wide for the seat and found that the seat front edge digs into my quads. I found that the front edge curves way too quickly. I wish they made an XL version where it would be about 2 inches wider. If it was like that I think I would of kept it forever. Compared to the Embody the Mirra 2 is massively better for the back but I wish it had the seat size but the same mesh so you could shift around as I find myself doing in a chair. I tried the Embody as well and it was that hard plastic in the hip area of the back and the mesh like seat that doesn't stretch as well as pure mesh

@@matheusdasilvaprimo5870 If you have a fairly normal weight for your height I'd highly recommend picking one up. Only reason why it didn't work for me is because when I normally sit my legs go bow outwards slightly and it was putting pressure on my thighs as they hit the seat frame. If you are similar to me in being 6"2" and 250 pounds then the Cosm is the better choice despite the higher cost. The entire chair is about 2 inches wider in the seat and back. I feel no pressure at all at my tailbone in it. This was true for the Mirra 2 as well but the thigh pressure ruined it for me as it wasn't comfortable in that area. But the Mirra 2 plastic back was heaven to me. It just gives away without pushing back and I didn't need any lumbar support as my tailbone area there doesn't respond kindly to any pressure. It basically acted just like mesh to me. That plastic isn't like those cheap stiff plastic lawn chairs.
