I’ve taken thousands of depositions over the past 20+ years and if I’ve realized anything, it’s this: 98% of depositions never see the light of day. Or in other words, most cases don’t go to trial. Less experienced lawyers - including myself many moons ago - tend to put pressure on “nailing” the deposition.
