I just installed mine recently and I am very happy with it so far. It replaced a Ring doorbell that was already on my house. I like the 4:3 aspect ratio on the Wyze much better. Thanks for the videos and keep it up!

I don’t need the wedge for the actual angle on my house, but there was no way I was getting the wire caps in without it. I sort of want a second wedge to flatten it out.

Is there a way to hook up the new chime and have the old chime work at the same time. With your case is your old chime still working with the rear bell?

I have three basic white doorbell the chime wired version It worked perfectly until I did the firmware update now the motion detector does not work I have rebooted power on power off, but the same problem persists Any ideas?

Can anyone tell me how is the motion detection on this doorbell? Is there a lot of false detections or no detections when someone is at the front? Also is there color night vision ? And sd slot? Fees? Thanks

Can you use this with the existing in home chime and not use the WYZE chime plugged into an outlet.

Mine worked for a couple days and now will no longer connect to the modem. Wyze has been unhelpful in remedying the problem after several contacts with customer sevrvice.

Check the strength of the WiFi signal at the doorbell location. You might need range extender, a mesh wireless router, or just reposition your existing router.

You could buts battery solar set up are 12 Volts and like he said you need at least 16v to 18V to power the door bell

​@@MyNameIsHairoldYou'll need a power inverter that converts the 12Vdc to 16-24Vac. If you don't know the difference between DC and AC voltage, find a doorbell camera that works on DC voltage.

Since the Wyze Video Doorbell is hard wired to your existing doorbell, why is the Wyze chime box needed?

The mechanical doorbell is bypassed and only used to power the video doorbell. So pressing the Wyze doorbell without the Wyze chime plugged in makes no sound at all. Many video doorbells are this way.

That sucks so bad. Being forced to use proprietary parts for something as mundane as a doorbell is really terrible.

Use a 3/16" masonry bit to drill holes for the plastic anchors that come in the box.

There is volume adjustment feature in the device settings. It's in the sub menu where it shows you how to pair the device.

A doorbell that uses the existing wiring but can't use the existing mechanical chime is a really bad design choice. Somebody at wyze needs to be fired.

Two wires go from chime to doorbell. Doorbell acts as a momentary switch. Pressing doorbell completes the circuit and powers the chime. You hear the sound. This doorbell has no battery and needs constant power. Wiring bypasses return line back to chime, going back to transformer instead. Same reason why most air-conditioner thermostats are battery powered despite wires and a transformer connected to it. It acts as electronically controlled switches. I could see it working if there were 3 lines: 2 for power and 1 for return to chime. If the unit was battery powered, there should be no reason for it to not work with a chime.
