@Mark Michael Thank you brother. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Agree that the modern Overseas - especially the DualTime - is an incredibly versatile piece. It truly is a “dressy sports watch” - depending on what strap you’re using. It has amazing innovation, like a great micro-adjust system, that will impress you once you try it on. Thanks for the perspective.
Integration of the Maltese Cross into the link design of the bracelet is brilliant!

I am VC fan also. As a brand, and as pieces produced, they are more “out there” ... look at the 1921 historique. Now as they started to produce their own movements for the OS3, I thing that it is the best value from the three. Don’t get me wrong, Royal Oak has stunning design. Is it a better choice than the VC? It depends on what are your plans for the watch. If u buy it for yourself and u intend to keep it, VC is the most compelling option. And this is comming from a guy who owns the time only from both VC : OS3 and AP: 15400. 5711 comming next year when my queue ends.

In a world when Rollie GMTs on the grey market are the same price as 4500Vs (with an attainable discount) .. hand finished, Geneva seal, multiple straps.. it would be crazy not to consider the Overseas as an option

IDGuy I agree. The only thing I find more ridiculous is people who think the Nautilus 5711 is worth 4x the equivalent Overseas. While I can understand why some might see why the Nautilus is worth the extra 15-20% at retail (although I’d still take the Overseas if money wasn’t an object) there is no way the Nautilus is worth even half of what it’s currently trading at (almost triple retail).
If only VC spent half of what PP and AP spend on marketing, they too would have people lining up on waiting lists for the Overseas!

Love the new design, especially the bezel. Keep up the good work. Great videos.
Having owned dozens of Patek, AP’s and others to include RM, Journe, Lange & Rolex, I just picked up my very 1st Vacheron Overseas and am very happy with it. The exchangeable bracelets/straps are outstanding and the fact that this is a hand finished holy trinity piece for the price of a Rolex GMT is incredible. I have the 3rd generation 3-hand automatic/date with black dial and am enjoying the rubber strap most as it reminds me of my Aquanaut. The fit is phenomenal and the piece is actually very robust. An issue I’ve always had with the Nautilus/Aquanaut & Royal Oak pertains to the brushed bezel, which scratches if you look at it too hard. Once scratched, your eyes go straight to the defect and no one other than the factory can restore the finish to it’s original state.....no one (I’ve tried believe me). The VC Overseas could be dragged on the back of your car and still look cool. Great review guys, thank you 👌🏻

Awesome video. Your explaining of the design, cold and accurate is just wonderful, it is the opposite of what watchfinder does, he is full of pasion, but both channels, to me right now, are BY FAR the best ones when it comes to watches. Thank you, Seb. I need to work on the 'cold' part a bit more. Reading from a script does make it less warm (but at least the points can come across) But one thing I've never wanted to do is "market" a watch in the typical way, so I guess that adds to the formula. Beautiful watch. To me the design is straight from 1970s. I like the sharp lines of the bezel/dial and that braclet is very sharp. To me it's more than a watch it's more like artwork for your wrist. I would have one in a heartbeat but I have heart and head set on getting a Rolex explorer 1655 as discussed in one of your previous videos.
I much prefer the VC Overseas collection over the PP and AP. I’ve spent far too much time in the Vacheron Constantin Boutique in Zurich drooling over the Overseas. I love the Simple Date and for sure prefer the Gen-3 across the board. They made 38 special dial representing the Canton of Zurich flag colors. 38 representing VC’s address at 38 Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich. At $20,000. USD, I find it very nice and a reasonable value. THEN....I start asking myself do I really like this more than my $6,000.~$12,000 Rolex beaters. I still haven’t bought a VC, but anything is possible. I’ll be in Zurich in September. As usual, great subject and video man! Thanks!

Wow I have to agree, I really do not like the Royal Oak and the simple blue Nautilus is nice or nicer perhaps? I have not done my homework on the overseas (you have done a lot for me), it’s almost perfect and the bracelet is wonderful. In spite of the ease of swopping out straps, it would never leave the bracelet if it were mine. Love simple 3 hand dials so the date bothers me at the 3 position, I would of preferred 6 for symmetry or a no date. Dare say I could live with that should I ever be in a position to buy one though. Really enjoyed the video, thank you.
Time to start saving for an overseas. Great video

Great vid IDGuy per usual. As Clyve said - great waking up to this kind of content and a nice coffee. I really like the VC 3 hander. So much versatility. Yet, if I could pick, I'd take the Jumbo 15202. Just really like the industrial look of that watch and it happened to be created in my birth year of 1972. That said, roughly $40k on the secondary market for the 15202 vs $16k for the VC 3 hander? Just no way the Jumbo is twice the watch of the VC and no way I'm throwing down $40k for the delicate movement of the 15202. Missing the seconds hands stinks too.

And that's a great call. The 15202 is a classic and a watch that will always have me scratching my head in a good way and a bad way (kind of like dealing with the perfect woman) So many great things and also flaws. But it is ridiculous considering the prices of the pieces...It's just steel at the end of the day with a movement inside it hahaha! best watch review i have seen in a long time without live footage of the piece; should have talked a bit about the in-house movement with the Geneva seal, which is stunning and a huge improvement. The OS is definitely in Nautilus/RO territory now
Amazing looking watch - deserves totally to be part of the holy trinity
สวยมากครับ ที่สุดในปัจจุบันเลยครับ
The Vacheron Constantin Overseas is one of the most beautiful sport watch in the world. More beautiful then Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe and Rolex. I like Vacheron Constantin maltese cross style case and bracelet. the transparent case back and gold compass rotor are wonderful.
Great video. Tried one of these (4500V), it wore quite large on my 7.5" wrist. Personally I don't like the chronograph chapter ring on the 3 hander and GMT. It's a useless feature and makes the dial look busy. Also the second hand is extended to reach the chapter ring and it looks loo long. Why didn't they put 24 hour markings on the chapter ring for the GMT model? The numbers could have been small and subtle, at least it would have a function. Finally the lack of hacking seconds on a sports watch of this calibre is just an oversight.

Yeti because Vacheron is all about elegant and subtle- I don’t think Vacheron wants to have a GMT like Rolex does (kind of odd design) and more sporty like
Vacheron's blue dial is best in class imo
This is my pick over the 2 , i think this has the perfect balance of being masculine with a good amount of elegance , just like a gentleman in a sharp suit. I find AP is too industrial while the Patek soft . I like my watches with both elements for a more balanced look.....but thats just me, and the VC cross is cool. Yeah... but they both moved the back of the watch to the front.
I don't get why the Overseas date in SS is twice the cost of the Quai de I’lle when they both use the same movement. The main difference is the gold rotor in the Overseas...but that can't be worth $ 10k can it?
This is completely subjective, but, this watch wins the award for the best bracelet and the worst bezel in high end watches. Incredible watch overall. If anyone can sway my opinion, please do. I would love to like everything about this watch. it's a masterpiece.
The new bracelet should be called modular rather than integrated. By definition something is not "integrated" if it is removable. If the watch head can be used with other straps it cannot be integrated
VC Chrono Blue Overseas a perfect daily watch if you can afford one. Nice video mate.
Always look forward to your opinions, but no i would not go in the water with an Overseas, that's what my skx is for. I don't even get my 50 Fathoms wet. I like the Overseas, the main problem for me is value retention, seems like they drop quite a bit if you want to get out of them, since Rolex is unattainable, people are looking for SS sports alternatives these watches are getting more attention, should the Submariner become available , you could be losing half your money or more.

It's hard to really give a concrete answer because they are three very different watches. They all wear differently and feel different. I see the RO as a design that hasn't really escaped the 70's. The Overseas has some good features as you have pointed out such as the simple strap / bracelet interchangeability, nice dials, great movement and nice finishing. However, I cannot look at those lovely dials without being distracted by the horrible glare of the polished ‘cog-wheel’ bezel which seems like an overly prominent feature of the watch. It isn’t a subtle design like the Royal Oak or Nautilus but the jutting bezel of the Overseas makes it look like the Punk child of the two. I’m sorry but, it’s not for me. It definitely couldn’t be my only watch. The Historiques 1921, now that’s a great Vacheron! Another great video my friend. I eagerly await your next video. I’m hooked. Have a great weekend brother! ✊
Very gorgeous

No denying you there. Thank you for the comment!
I’m a big fan of Vacheron, perhaps they are far rarer than the ubiquitous PP And PP. The best Overseas has to be the Ultra Thin.

Its a shame that they are overlooked, but I have a feeling that these pieces will begin to receive more and more attention soon. What's not to like about the new line? I completely agree about the Ultra Thin's...unreal how they've managed to package the watch. Thanks for the comment, Tom

IDGuy Yes that Ultra Thin movement is JLC 920... not VC in house. That said , the same goes to AP 15202 jumbo, not in house too. JLC is still the master of movement .

The ultra-thin is brilliant. I also think it’s the single best case of how overpriced the nautilus has become, because the steel 5711 is currently trading for more than the white gold Ultra-thin, despite competing with the standard three-hand.

Geoffrey Pearce Yes, that’s exactly it, the Nautilus hype bubble is as large as Enron’s inflated profit, I believe the reality check would be nearing soon.
Excellent review. There is a picture starting at 4:41 of a no date version with grey dial. It has emerged during its introduction but is not displayed at VC's home page. Does anybody have more information on that model?

It is the Overseas Ultra-thin, reference 2000V. White gold. Extremely hard to find. Absolutely beautiful watch.

@@wjs1 Thank you!
overseas is gorgeous but the price is outrageous
In my honest opinion the vacheron overseas tourbillion is better looking then the nautilus and royal oak why? Vacheron made a tourbillion into a sports watch that's no joke
Prefer this over anything from AP
To your final point about VC’s impact on the 70’s nouveau retro-revival, I would love to see Seiko contribute to the conversation.
Dial reminds of Grand Seiko
the 222 will be so collectable in the future , buy a couple now and thank me latter I think of them as the milgauss of the future , you read it here .
I'm happy i don't have money to buy this. Otherwise, I had to choose between aquanaut and this.
If i got a sub at retail, I would flip it for VC overseas
