The GT version of 911 has indeed been available as a convertible. You seem to have forgotten the 991.2 speedster and 997.2 speedster that came before it. Very rare and exceptional cars but they do exist. Full GT product by Weissach too.

@@johnwhood5791you mean the 997.2 was an exclusive manufaktur product. 991.2 Speedster was the first open top 911 GT product, if I am not mistaken. The Spyder here is the first RS open top from weissach. Although, the 991.2 speedster does have more RS components (like the 911r) than gt3 components.

Happy that Porsche eventually did what everyone was asking for and put the GT3 engine in the 718 platform, what a way to go out. How is the Vanadium Grey color in real life? It's the first Porsche to get this color, and it seems so different in the configurator versus in the videos. I guess it plays a lot depending on the lighting?

Nice video, great car. I suppose if I had one I’d only drive it on nice days and would probably leave the top behind. Definitely not a daily driver. I have a “lesser” 718 with the power roof and it’s excellent both in speed and soundproofing. This would be more of a trophy car-that goes like hell!

Am I missing something here ? It's the ultimate boxster isn't it ? When I get mine I'm having it badged boxster RS and boxster RS on the head rests 😂

The only true competitor to the Spyder RS is the Spyder (non RS) which can be had with a manual = arguably a more "pure" driving experience and better value...

The 911 & Boxter's engine placement are noticeably different. It's hard to compare the driving characteristics between them. Especially with a stiffer chassis as convertibles.

The spydertop isnt a option, because the gt3 engine neets more space...good video, thanks

That, plus the air intakes are at a location where the regular top sits.

The exhaust button is just a sound symposer from the intake, essentially a tube from airbox to the cabin. It has nothing at all to do with the exhaust.

The GT4RS doesn't have a sound symposer pumping in engine noise in the cabin. Wonder why they put it in the Spyder RS.

Gee....the engine appears to be located toward the middle of the car! Biggest and most important difference between this and the GT's.😂🤣

It sounds sort of OK but still a very far cry from a Lambo V10.

Manual was not a possible choice by Porsche. They technically couldn’t fit a manual gearbox

A GT3RS is called a 911. This Spyder RS is not called Boxster But, yes, it’s anecdotical

I like a less practical boxster, what is wrong with me

160`000 euros: imagine paying that kind of money for a car that will only do more than 200 km/h with the roof off. I think I`ll stick with mine that will only do 250 km/h, but at 20% of the price...and with the roof still on.
