Banks are buying gold and other Precious Metals because of they have remained stable or appreciated in this shambolic times with these banks collapsing, META down 40k, ALLP down 35k, Draft Kings down 6k, NIO down 15K, ABML down 8k, and my wife doesn’t know. I'm just hanging on to Jim Cramer's words about opportunities in volatile times so perhaps, I either wait for a recovery or pick profitable investments to substitute for my loss.

The Collapse of Some Banks has torn into global markets, with investors ripping up their forecasts for further rises in interest rates and dumping bank stocks around the world. I'm at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my dipping 200k stock portfolio, what’s the best way to take advantage of this bear market?

True, A lot of folks downplay the role of professionals until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple of summers back after my lengthy financial setback, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of due diligence who helped a lot to grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation to over half a million dollars.

Is gold really worth it to buy ? In terms of the short term considering taxes and overall cost of upfront purchase then trying to resell when I actually need the liquidity, is physical or gold stocks more worth the cost ? Because it seems to be when people speak of gold their not being specific to the short term or Long term approach to justifying the purchase. Let me know your thoughts , thanks anyone.

Gold is often seen as a safe-haven asset that can protect against inflation and economic uncertainty. But like any investment, it carries risks. To determine if gold is the right investment option for you, an investment advisor can help you weigh the potential benefits and risks of investing in gold. They can also help you create a well-diversified portfolio that includes gold as part of a broader investment strategy. An investment advisor can help you decide how much of your portfolio should be allocated to gold and select other investments that can complement your gold holdings.

China has been the largest producer, buyer, and importer of gold for over a decade. Their citizens can’t sell gold outside of China. It’s a one way chain and it’s only in, no outward flow. Knowing this, it makes their officially stated government gold holdings laughable. On paper, they hold significantly less gold tonnage than the U.S. but knowing they’ve been the largest buyer and importer for years now, we know it’s all a lie.

BINGO! Until the manipulation of the pm prices is addressed, videos like this are a complete waste of time. Nowhere near enough analysts discuss the manipulation. And nowhere near enough of the ones who do will mention the mechanism by which it happens. As long as paper certificates are traded like real metal, the prices are complete fantasies. They can be set at will. So the only reason the prices are suddenly rising now is someone doesn't care anymore.

The BRICS+ countries are very diligently building up their gold reserves in preparation for the release of their new reserve currency that will be back by a basket of valuable goods and resources including gold. This is very different from a normal cycle, as this signals the beginning of the end of the US dollar's long monopoly as the world's reserve currency of choice. Buy gold and silver now before they go even higher.

The only KZread economist properly using the word “ Disinflation” thus proving he is not parroting some script. In regards to gold my personal opinion is that physical pm is just a hedge against poor governmental decisions. If you believe the government is incapable of fiscal responsibility then gold and silver are the answer. If you believe the government is your saviour then dollars and stocks are the answer.

According to the transcript, the main reason for the increase in gold prices is attributed to its alignment with a long-term commodity supercycle. The transcript suggests that gold's price surge is part of a broader trend in commodity markets, with the uptrend in gold prices correlating with historical patterns in commodity cycles.

Saying that gold is going up is demonstrating a misunderstanding of gold's position. Gold is not an investment, not a hedge, or anything else but a store of value. Gold, in buying power, has roughly the same value as it did 100 years ago: a house that cost 6kg of gold a centurary ago costs 6kg of gold today. I follow three indicators: gold-USD, gold-CHF (Swiss Francs), USD-CHF. I also keep an eye on the EUR but it's a slowly sinking ship for the time being. Since 1MAR24 gold has been going up measured in USD and CHF roughly by the same amount, USD-CHF roughly remaining constant. The obvious, but wrong conclusion would be that gold is going up in value. But history says that doesn't happen. What I suspect is happening since March is that the western economies: USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, AUS, ..., are behaving in unison and are all weakening together. In other words, western nations' economies, i.e. more or less the world's economy, is in a critical state. Why? I think the end of the BTFP on 11MAR24 has much to to say. George covered the BTFP a while back but in short it was a safety net for failing banks following Sovereign, SVB, and Signature's demise. If a significant bank in the US, UK, Europe, ..., collapses now the whole lot goes. The three things that are worth having are gold, real estate, and debt - particularly a mortgage of the house you are living in.
