He didn’t create anything. Tesla got acquired by the index funds. If he gets the pay package be prepaid for Tesla to drop 50-70%. The index funds might dump Tesla from the S&P and Nasdaq. Most people buy index funds to invest in and musk is just robbing 3% of the value from everyone’s savings. Tesla doesn’t need an over payed drug addicted CEO that doesn’t even care about the company. He will just take that money for other projects. Musk is not that valuable, he doesn’t even do anything for Tesla other than send annoying tweets. That’s not worth 50B. I sold all my Tesla back at $280. I bought it when the cyber truck started to get released and then immediately dumped it for a small loss when this came out.’

The irony is, the compensation package is actually tied to Tesla and stock performance. Chris conveniently ignores that fact that this is not a cash payment, it is in fact shares. Those shares were reserved in 2018 and only went up if the company and stock did well. In addition, those shares, which are reserved at 2.3 billion could only be allocated when certain milestones were met. It's everything, Chris in this interview is asking for. He's either ignorant or misleading people

It’s a compensation package, not a pay package. Musk does not get one penny of money from Tesla. Instead, when he exercises his options in the future, he will be required to pay Tesla a large sum of money to do so. That is a win, win, win for the Elon Musk, and Tesla, and each shareholder. As for the original compensation package, Elon Musk met every metric set forth to earn those stock options , and in the process made his shareholders huge amounts of money. He had a contract, and he deserved to get compensated per that contract.

@3:32, "Take some advice from Warren Buffet make your money in capital gains, not in salary." The Tesla deal in question isn't about salary. It's about options. Those options from that deal have a low strike price. Elon can convert the options to shares, pay tax on the strike price and then hold the stock for 12 months and get capital gains. How would Mr. Ailman as CIO like it if he hit all the bogeys that CalSTRS put in front of him and then they decided not to pay him?
