AlmightyStarfire to be fair, not the ones who stay very wide, favour carrying the ball more frequently, mainly cross the ball or cut inside and shoot. Wide playmakers tend to have more creativity and play more narrow and linkup with intricate passing and make the team tick (as well as having all the above winger traits in their locker). Think Rosicky, Hleb, Nasri, Pires, Hazard, Ribery etc ... whereas out and out wingers are more like Aaron Lennon, Giggs (prime), Robben, CR7 (at United) etc.

I always feared Willian when ever we were playing Chelsea. I'd rather had him when he was younger but that whole video was last season so I still believe he can do a job for us.

Yeah, this makes much more sense to me. Because unlike others I think Reiss Nelson is a really good player and pepe is also there. Willian could be a good mentor but as a no. 10 he makes a lot of sense or as a wing back if Coutinho or someone like that comes in. And then there are some dudes who are like we need Zaha too. I mean like that doesn't even make sense.

Nobody can deny his ability or quality but we don't need him even as a free transfer as we already have an incredible front 3 Auba Pepe and Laca .....and u can't throw Laca away!! he has been a great 9.5 by the end of the season who can build up plays and hold the ball well plus his connection with Auba and Pepe . In addition, we have young talented players upfront (Saka Martinelli nketiah Nelson) who will surely lack game time if Willian arrives and don't forget his high wage...So I guess his arrival is useless if not Harmful !!

As he is and will always be a world-class striker he hasn't been at his best this season but he still had some great games and scored some crucial goals aswell and his departure may affect Auba's future ....

One of the best work rates of any winger. Always respected him for that. Very strong and direct too.

He always looked as the most dangerous midfield at Chelsea. Good skills, good at create spaces and team player. Good signing.

We are most likely to play a 4 3 3 next season providing we get defensive recruitments. Therefore Willian will be an excellent back up to pepe and also as a left winger if we want to play auba through the middle. Also he could maybe switch to a attacking mid role as a player in front of a midfield duo of ceballos and xhaka. Again this depends on recruitment as we need to get ceballos on another loan or permenant deal. That's how i think he is gonna fit in.

Willian is exactly the kind of player we need right now. Experienced, great on the ball, can link the midfield with the attack with his passing and dribbling, has end product and is quick. Plus...that goal against Spurs at 3:23 OOF! Quality signing!

No doubt Willian is a quality player to have in any team but the main reason Arsenal want him is because he costs absolutely nothing. Had Arteta been backed by Kroenke, he might have gone for young, quality players like Zaha, Dembele, Bailey, etc. Hope the money saved will be invested in Gabriel, Partey and Coutinho/Aouar.❤️🙏 EDIT: Willian is currently undergoing medical at Arsenal.

Maitland Niles doesn't have the technical quality for where Arsenal should want to go. Laca seems to be out, unfortunately. Ceballos over Partey and Saka/Martinelli supporting Auba is more progressive with Smith Rowe at #10 in the next year or so.

I would prioritize Partey over Zaha. But if we also sell Guendouzi, then go for Zaha as well

@@djren7365 Zaha has had a poor season! With willian coming we will already have him, pepe, nelson, saka, martinelli and Auba plays lw a lot. Don't need him at all, would rather us buy another cb or cm rather than an extra winger

It’s his acceleration that I think you’re getting at, very nice turn of pace and direction

I think we’re gonna play him at CAM and we should!!! Acceleration, dribbling, directness, and his weight of pass seems really really good. Better passer than I realized. AND he’s our best free kick taker walking in!!! I’m excited for the future!

Finally someone who could genuinely take free kicks 😩❤️. I don’t think I could take seeing David luiz and lacazette walk up to another free kick. They’ve missed everyone man. Bout time we convert some of those chances. We can’t always rely on breaking down a team from open ball, sometimes you just need that quality from deadball situations.

@Leman Russ agree he is 32 . Are you fine with vardy ? Some players reduce their age to play in under 18 exmaple he could be 20 and provide proof as 18. . In willian case his real age might be 32 thats why he is still performing. No need panic comparing with luiz. He always a liability even when he was in psg. Willian is a work horse and great free kick taker and sharp shooter

Sounds like Arteta wants to play him in the middle so less running and more creativity. He'll be great for a couple of years. Hasn't had any big injuries - a slight hamstring last year and missed one game. He'll look better in Red!
