It’s crazy to think that it’s been one year since I’ve owned my First Generation/1995 Toyota RAV4, JDM, AWD! This is my 1-year ownership update.

I bought a 95 JDM Rav4 laat year for mail delivery It ended up being my personal car after I left the post office. I love it The only issue Ive run in to is parts for certain things dont seem to be available

I had that issue when trying to change the distributor cap. The OEM part fits US made vehicles, but not Japanese

@@theOGRAV4 I've had some things fit. Spark plugs, blower motor for the A/C (though I had to use the old fins and reverse the polarity), and such But other things like the axles (CV boot ripped) while the same size had a different spline for some reason.

Awesome video! Love your rav4! I was curious on your thoughts about changing out the lights to the later style. And if it’s worth sourcing original Toyota roof racks or using a universal aftermarket. Thanks! Again, love your rav4. The paint makes it bulletproof from rust or aging metal issues.

Lots of people like changing the lights for newer one. LabCoatPaul has a video where he shows you how to do th rear ones. I personall like to keep mine original. :) as far as roof rack, the OEM will typically be a little more expensive, but you can probably find them relatively cheap at a junk yard. It think they look quite better than any aftermarket one

Amazing video! I love the quality put into filming and editing. The video looks professional and I love the beautiful places you chose to film. You presented a very realistic description of what it's like to own the old RAV4. Yes, it's kind of hard to work on, rattles a lot, and is loud on the highway. I totally agree about the sound deadening. It doesn't do much, and it's a ton of work for a small improvement. The RAV4 is very capable off road with 2 exceptions: rock crawling and steep hills. It doesn't have a transfer case with 4 low. The engine will just die on a steep incline because it doesn't make enough torque.

Hello I am purchasing a 98 JDM All Wheel drive. It will soon be driven 145 miles a day on my mail route, and the roads get crappy in winter. Its an automatic J model. Plan to video how it does and if I like it as you do yours.
