I love people bitching about fuel economy in a PERFORMANCE vehicle. Let me put this in perspective for you. In 1971, I bought a Ford Bronco. It had a 205 hp, 302 V8, and the best mileage it ever got was 15.5 mpg at 55 miles per hour. Now, let's all get nostalgic about "the good old days"...

  • @jldude84

Mpg is more dependent on vehicle weight than the engine's power all else equal. Obviously with ~50 years difference things are gonna be more efficient but curb weight still remains the biggest factor in a vehicle's fuel economy. Which is why a 2002 Corvette Z06 gets the same 28mpg EPA rated hwy fuel economy as a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4 4-cyl with well over twice the horsepower.

There's no denying that the Raptor is a beast in both off-road prowess and sheer speed. However, the EcoBoost engine "sounds" anemic when compared to a N/A V-8. Also, for almost 80K, there should not be any scratchy, crappy plastic in the interior.

Exhaust note was one of the deciding factors, but overall the truck performs flawlessly. The Baja suspension floats down any road, and exceeds many luxury vehicles for ride. I have put three different exhausts on it trying to find the right note. It’s impossible. The augmented note can be disabled in ForScan, and additional features unlocked.

4wd Auto uses an electromagnetic clutch in the transfer case to engage the front wheels. The truck will send power to the rear wheels as long as no slippage is identified. The mileage is not so good and that it is really not a truck for loading with lumber or towing anything over 4000#s , so this is why I am keeping my ‘98 F250 Supercab 4x4. Thank for the video gentlemen. I've had a different experience with the BFG KO2's. They do well in light and dry packed (crunchy) snow, but hard packet wet snow and ice....hold on, your going for a spin. I run dedicated studded snow tires on my F150 in the winter and nothing beats them...period. In my opinion and experience, if one doesn't want to buy actual snow tires, the Goodyear Duratracs are impressive in snow and ice, much better than BFG's, especially if you stud them.
