Howdy. Let me start by clearing some things up a bit, as there are too many comments to reply to. First, we aren't quitting whatnot forever. I just wanted to step away for long enough to get our ebay store moving again and make this video. We've already done another whatnot show since this video posted, so that break didn't last long. Just wanted to show how I would boost sales and source inventory that would specifically be sold on ebay. The purpose of this video was to provide helpful tips on how to increase sales and what brands to look for in the wild. The purpose of a lot of our other videos, is to provide entertainment for you guys by doing challenges, flipping houses, and all sorts of other cool youtube stuff that we have been blessed with the ability to do. We started as resellers that made youtube videos and because so many of you have followed along and enjoyed those videos, now we are youtubers that resell. I know that isn't super relatable to you guys, but I still hope you can enjoy the content with a grain of salt. I still try to throw in some cool tips and tricks along the way, and I try to be as transparent as possible when we do or buy things that may not be a great idea to do/buy if you didn't do youtube (most recently in our 100 t shirt video where I clearly say "this was a terrible idea please don't do this" ). I'll also add that even if we did stop selling on whatnot, we would still get the same comments about "relatability" because so many of our ebay sales go to viewers too. We've actually already sold like 4 things from todays video and they all went to viewers. Heck, I've even made a video series where I started a secret ebay store and told viewers "please dont buy this stuff if you find our secret store" and what do you know, we STILL had a viewer sale 🙃 Anyway, I love you and I just want you guys to have fun and enjoy the videos. I truly appreciate when you guys choose to support us by buying stuff. It really means a lot, even if it does kill our relatability 🥲🤣

Thank you for posting this, I was just considering starting on WhatNot but I always felt like it would be super time consuming. But Ebay fees seems to be getting out of hand, that plus they are really prone to accepting returns that are unfair to the seller. What is your other favorite marketplace other than Ebay?

Your video title caught my attention and drew me in. I expected a bad experience and wondered what that would be. After all, a recent video lead me to believe Whatnot was decent branch in your income tree. However, I am thankful for the video you did. Love the tips and find you are an excellent mentor/teacher. Easy to understand, good flow of the product and process. Thank you. I continue from the starter seller stage in Canada. One day, I would love to be a full-time reseller and teacher with the best understanding of succeeding from North of the border. Love your journey. BTW, does anyone know a Canadian reseller on KZread? Maybe I could do that too!!!

I came to your channel YEARS ago because i found your content so helpful when i was starting my own eBay store. You taught me about how to ship, use regional boxes (RIP), Pirate Ship, brands to look out for, how to re-size a box, inventory storage ideas, what a sell through rate was, etc. The true basics of how to run a successful business. I have been here since you had that wall of shoes in boxes in your guest bedroom and you were doing trick shots LOL. I will admit i have been kinda bummed that that part of channel is not as center stage, but i get it. I will never bash anyone's hustle. This video was really refreshing and i would love to see ones like this maybe once or twice a month if possible. I currently have a eBay store that has done 9k in the past 90 days and i still work my 40 hour a week job. The money i have made is helping my wife and i reach our goal of being home owners one day and the success at the beginning of that journey was a lot due to your help. Thanks - Thicc Thrifts

One thing I respect about you is the fact that you've always been transparent, especially when it comes to Whatnot. You always say that a lot of your Whatnot sales come from viewers of the channel. You've never tried to hide it. You're a KZreadr first now, and it's hard for people to grasp that reality. What makes your channel even more fun now is that you have the ability to get like 50 things a video because you have access to Whatnot and can quickly sell those 50 things and still make lots of profit. People will always hate no matter what tho lol

Hi to both of you 😀 I’ve noticed lately that you seem to be apologising for doing things the way you do. I know you appreciate your subscribers but feel you’re stressing about how we feel about the videos. I for one think you’re both doing amazingly well and I can see how much you love what you do. Thing is you can’t please everyone all of the time so just do what you do and your subbies will keep coming back for more. I know it’s hard work, way more than working for someone. I think you’ve got the mix just right and as you nurture all of your revenue streams I think your channel will continue to grow as well as your bank balance😊 Listen to both of your hearts and know that we appreciate you both and all the hard work that goes into making it look easy..even when it isn’t. Keep doing what you love, the way you want to do it. All the very best from the UK x

There are so many “regular sellers” on whatnot in the vintage clothing category that don’t have a social media following and they do really well. Almost everyday you can see full time resellers on whatnot who don’t have social media followings but they put the work in and built a following on the platform since it has its own user base. Obviously it won’t be as easy to grow but what I like about whatnot is they have a system to filter resellers so if you get approved it’s not as flooded as some other platforms. I think it’s the most realistic way to get into reselling right now if you are willing to put the leg work in that a lot of us did. I’m sure when you started 5 years ago you sold stuff for cheaper. I know when I started with Paul in 2013 we sold so much stuff at a cheap price and we did that on purpose to build a following. With whatnot if you put price everyone you’ll gain followers and new buyers and start to build a clientele.

My sales have been dead here lately. I haven't had a sale since last weekend. So knowing that you went a few days without a sale makes me feel better even though it's sad for you, but congrats on the new sales! I'm going to try to list more tonight hopefully and might change some things around to get things moving again. I've only got 365 things listed, but sometimes even listing 2-5 new items will shake things up. Poor little Mose. I brought home a gigantic stuffed buffalo one time and at the time, I had a cat, and I just came in, tossed things in the house and went to get breakfast or whatever and I later went through the living room to see my cat with his back up in the air, doing the Halloween cat impression, completely horrified. It was sooo funny.

I’m not a seller but I think wether it be eBay, Poshmark, KZread or Whatnot you’ll never start at the top. If someone starts new with Whatnot & puts in the work they could succeed. Please don’t change your content. All channels change & evolve over time. Maybe just include more eBay into the videos even if it make the videos 5 or 10 minutes longer. Your so entertaining your subscribers will watch.

I enjoy the many videos you both produce and appreciate the sheer hard work and effort that must go into producing them. There are many that have given up/changed output/platform and I do not blame them. How many will be still doing KZread in 10 years time! Sounds exhausting. I really don't understand why you can't just do what you want to do - ebay/KZread/property flips/Whatnot/Poshmark etc. Why be responsible for anyone being unable to relate to what you do? They should just be happy for you - as am I. Best of luck for the future to you both.

What I loved about this video was the part where you explained the sell through rate with the North Face hoodie. This is something all resellers need to learn and understand. I see a lot of posts where people complain they aren't getting sales or say eBay is slow. SO MUCH depends on the items you are buying and the demand. We've sold a lot of polo shirts on eBay by bundling them together in lots of 2,3,4. We are seeing the same with our eBay store. A lot of the newer items we have been listing are selling. I think another thing that has helped is listing the items we find right away. Instead of having them sit.

At the end of the day, and maybe you do this already, but I would just sell things cheap on whatnot that are not likely to move for more on ebay... except a few teasers. A note about the Zuca bag- they are not for disc golf. They are for ice skaters. You put your skates and stuff in the bag and they fit in the rinks lockers, and you sit on the steel frame while you put on your skates, as oftentimes rinks have little seating and lots of kids. And you can roll your stuff in and out of the rink.

Looking at the stained Rhoback shirt dawn will normally take it out but I’m sure you know that already but did you know if you find clothes with paint on it rubbing alcohol, a rough sponge or toothbrush & some patients will take the stains out. I ruined my favorite leggings with water base paint it went through the washer & dryer before I noticed. Tried rubbing alcohol & it removed it completely. Thanks for all your hard work & entertaining videos

I think you’ll sell the Tommy Bahama Dodger shirt fast. Great size and the team has a big following. Casual style like that buyers are looking for. Nice find.

Well thinking about starting my husbands EBay account back up because I learned Tuesday that the company I work for is closing the doors. Our last day is October 20th! So sad. I’m 58 and was hoping to stay there until I retire. My husband sells used car parts like tail lights and such

Good choice on putting a halt on what not. As a reseller selling on Ebay, etc, I have no interest on what not. Appreciate you guys very much.

To get stains out of clothes Buy Presil or Persil in the detergent isle it's really good, even gets grass stains and grease spots out the first wash.

Josh, I agree with you on the North Face hoodie but…. Filter on size as well, that, as you’ve said before, that also affects the sell through rate. To a lesser degree, color… also promoting your listing can get a quicker sale.. Maybe to can talk about that in a future video…. I’ve sold on eBay for years, just to clear out the stuff we don’t need, not as a business. Now I have a part time job working for a retailer that sells new and used items at a store front. I do most of the eBay listings…. You just can’t seem to predict some of the sales… sometimes it amazes me! Great videos for learning! Thank you!

I think balance is great. The only issue i have with whatnot is that i see a lot of youtubers make less than good buys on their picking videos, bc even though they cant sell it on ebay or any other normal platform...they can still sell it on whatnot. So overall, its like the whatnot youtubers quality of flips has gone down, and this is dangerous for those of us who dont have real access to whatnot.

A lot doesn't sell as well as it used to and prices aren't great, unless it's for personal use. But one can only have so much personal use stuff. The Dodgers are on fire, so good shirt purchase.

For the brontosaurus (or similar unmarked items in the future).. I use Google app to do a search with my camera. Take a pic and it pulls up results, some even are eBay listings

Love the videos! I have a question. I do some reselling on eBay and FB. With regards to ebay when do you know ( or think) you should set up to actually have an eBay store? At one point I set up a store just so I could use the vacation mode. After a couple months of that it was hard to justify the cost. Also I’m sure you have some video possibly out there about how to take pictures and advertise the items you’re selling on eBay. If so, can you link it or could you do a video on how you take pictures and write up the descriptions? Thanks! Love the selling part but also enjoy the house reno stuff too! Blessings!

I am a fan and watch your KZread videos faithfully. I personally have found that the average prices on Whatnot are cheaper than thrift store prices. People are buying pallets of clothing from Amazon, Target and Macy's and then selling with starting bids of $3. My current favorite is etceteraboutique, who can sell 300 items in 10 hours shifts. I also support fosterfriendsthrift store because she is raising money for foster children.
