We bought the 2018 GLE 400 4matic SUV BRAND NEW!! it has a strong vibration in steering wheel and at highway speed of 100 + KM it has a pulse vibration and humming noise holding at a steady speed. It is not a tire noise or balancing issue...they changed the tires and rims all around but they will not admit that the vibration or pulse at highway speed is a problem. I drove another exact car while they were working on mine and the slight vibration was normal and great to drive. Mine on the other hand is annoyingly different and they refuse to acknowledge even though I have had a few other people drive the vehicle and notice there is something not right!!

Change motor mounts, it will ride like new.

We have a GLE similar to the one in the video and I have to say that the transmission is not responsive. When you need to give it gas it has a pretty substantial amount of lag.

Best Mercedes SUV model ever built. I have a 2013 and it's nearly the exact same aside from the new infotainment screen and the flat buttons on the dash. Only downside of this car is that is not a smooth ride at all. It's such a bumpy ride which is disappointing for a luxury SUV Don't fix what ain't broken

What is the reliability of this engine Can it go to over 200.000 miles

Looks and rides great but I hear they break down a lot....quality in the Alabama production plant is still lacking

I want one in either black or silver, way better than a g wagon

Your hp figures and torque are a bit wrong. It makes 250hp (258ps) and 457pft (620Nm).

No they aren’t. He’s reviewing the gas US spec model not a blue tec. The numbers he mentions are correct

This car is my daily driver.

I've just picked a GLE 350 today and it's not worth £63k. Absolute max is £35k. So many things about this are bad.

From the outside it does look good, it looks big and it looks expensive. You get inside and initially it feels quite plush but the seats are like many a modern car, you sit on them rather than sit in them. Then there's the steering wheel and how it's not round but has a squared off bottom section. This isn't an F1 car, there's plenty of space to slide in. Next is the rattles. The centre console rattles. It was a 2018 car with 6,000 miles on it! Next is the suspension, perhaps the air suspension is better but this one was jittery and it felt like it was trying too hard to counteract the bumps. Anything above 70mph just felt dangerous. Next up is the turbo lag. Picture the scene, you are on a side street and have pulled up to a main road and want to turn left. Traffic is coming toward you so you wait whilst listening to an average sound system. Ah ha! A gap in the traffic! You hit the loud pedal and prepare to join the traffic...but wait, nothing is happening? The gap is shrinking, sweat is starting to drip down the brow of your head as your Tiger 2 sized SUV is slowly, very slowly rolling out into the line of fire....suddenly the turbo has actually spooled up and you have power...FULL POWER. The AWD system goes into spasm mode and tries to control the maximum torque which is surging through the transmission and you find yourself desperately trying to control the biblical sized monster as it's swerves out into the main road with wheel spin all over the place. The engine is noisy as well. But, with the windows up I will say that it's one of the quietest cars I've been in considering the size of tyres etc. But there's too many negatives. The interior is described as luxurious, but the switch gear is cheap and nasty. The dials are difficult to read with the wrong speeds being highlighted (e.g. 40, 60, 80mph). The auto window buttons don't fall where your hand would be, the wing mirrors don't remote power fold but have to be folded before leaving and with the ignition on - so when you actually need to open the door and need the damn mirrors they are of no use because they are no folded! lol Oh, there's fancy Mercedes symbol lights which light up the pavement though. £63k? Forget it. I'd rather spend £16k on a 4th Gen Honda CRV EX which has more tech, more comfort, more control, better reliability and better use of space and keep £47k to build an extension on my house and get it back three fold through the increase in the value of my property. Better than than see it disappear in the first few years of depreciation in an overrated SUV where about £40k is really just the badge. God knows how they ever acquired such a reputation. Sorry if I come across as ranting but it's so frustrating how people get suckered into these cars just for the image. The German marques really have us sucked in be it the badge, misleading reliability and diesels.

The review is incomplete. You didn’t show the back cargo fully to show there is no spare tire. Very disappointed.

Davis Jones MB will not have any diesels in the US after 2017.

I've seen many of your videos but I have to say that this was less of an objective review and more like a commercial. I didn't hear a single mention of a competitor comparison or your personal opinion. Sounds like they're getting into your wallet.

I have a 2017 GLE 350. I love the car but be aware of lots of problems with the climate control..

I'm so disappointed in Mercedes Benz these days...We in the states get taken big bucks for the less than better GLE 43! I. and many I know would rather have the GLE 400 4matic than that "marketed up" GLE 43! The rest of the planet gets the diesels and standard models while the states are saddled with the "performance" models? No...not really a performance model either!

Edysin Simon MB does this because the profit margins are so high stateside. If people stopped buying these mediocre products then perhaps MB would do better, but as long as the “star” means something, people will line up for anything.
