Here’s my fastest lap EVER at Virginia International Raceway

    2:02 is absolutely insane for a street car! My PB is a 2:13 in my S2000 and that's on slicks! Having all that extra horsepower really helps cutting down your lap time at VIR because of the straights!

    @@TheOnlyNaderNate No, not really. My Audi TT would be faster around the track in a fwd only configuration due to weight. There’s a reason why the fastest road course cars in the world (F1) aren’t awd.

  • @TheOnlyNaderNate

    @TheOnlyNaderNate

    @mahatmagandification the main reason f1 cars don't use awd is the complexity in the systems and weight savings. Yes when your in a super light f1 car where you have an insane amount of downforce and your 2 cm off the ground rwd is probably the best option. But your nuts if you think the same driver will run a faster time in a tt with fwd I'm sorry. My haldex system is legit fwd until it needs to be awd. I can rip corners like crazy without working about oversteer, and when I understeer my rear kicks in. Best of both worlds. The maybe 100 to 200 lbs that I would save if the system wasn't in my car would make no difference.

    @@di_spencer7372 Subaru has the best off-road AWD system but I never liked it for exactly the reason you describe. The independent systems on some models take away all natural feeling with the torque so you've no idea when it's about to break loose, then it feels like it wants to throw the nose into everything once it does. Great for rally, I'm sure.

    People don't really understand what a weapon an Evo with 400-450whp is. They don't need a massive turbo for that kinda power so there's very little lag and the power comes on early and while not a drag monster 450hp is an 11 second car with a full interior.

    I agree. Everyone thinks you need 800-900 horsepower for a fast car but most have never rode in a car with 400-450 wheel. My 05 STi makes 400 and people get out thinking its more because they don't expect it when you get on the power early and tear out of a corner. AWD cars are awesome.

    One thing I might say about this is if you had recorded that 100 mph during the slide, while you were sliding, that number might be skewed. When the wheels are spinning it tricks the speedometer to think the car is going faster than the car is actually going. Since it references speed from the rotations of the transmission. And is why you can register speed while doing a burnout or ghost riding the car on a lift or just lifted off the ground allowing the wheels to free spin while in gear. The car is clearly not moving but is registering speed on the gauge
