I miss the 3DS EShop. The downloading animation there was actually fun to watch.

You had convinced me well before with your many great videos about the scam developers that the eShop needs a make-over. Very nicely done and good luck with your academic courses.

so I'm not the only one eternally frustrated with the fact that it takes 8 hours to browse 50 games on the eshop. I've put my nintendo switch away. I actually forgot I had it for a while recently. I'd rather go outside these days

I'll give Nintendo one credit here though, I bought the game "Succubus with Guns" (Yes, I do like the boob shooters, I'mma bad person) but several times it bugged out and wouldn't load the next wave of enemies. I reported the issue to their customer service and they refunded my $6

I bet that Nintendo Customer Service Advisor was instantly fired 😂 Like I said, I did eventually get a refund for a £2 game, but it took a lifetime of convincing.

@SwitchStars I preordered outer wilds for switch, and once I played it I called nintendo for a refund and got one immediately fwiw I told them it had such bad framrate and it was so choppy that it was unplayable. and at launch, it was imo

I saw they just released a final update for Outer Wilds, I never played the Switch version but the game is phenomenal, shame if it's framerate still sucks on Switch.

@SwitchStars they also said it's the final update for switch and any unfixed problems are going to persist. they shouldn't release these games on hardware that can't handle it. I played outer wilds on ps4 and it's pretty good

That's a shame, tbh most ports to Switch are shite, countless issues with performance and low texture resolutions really destroy the experience. I don't think it's possible to optimise beyond a certain point for third party developers but hopefully Switch 2 will solve these issues.

Right now every now and again the thumbnails fail to load and I get a grey e-shop logo. I think your ideas are what we’ve all been waiting for. They had ratings on the 3DS e-shop so it’s not like they haven’t done it before. I would love the ability to permanently hide specific publishers. That would be 80% of the e-shop for me but at least it would load quicker. Great video and good to have you back making content between changing nappies and warming bottles 😂

I agree with everything you've said. you have some great suggestions. I hope they do make a change to the painful user experience that is nintendo eshop

totally agree with everything you have said. to be able to block the same games coming up that im not interested in would be awesome. i wish it had an algorithm that could say ie 'you liked kingdom do you know their 80s game?'. ive brought a ton of indie games but each takes a lot effort to find and research. they defo lose money with all this cos its such a chore ya just play a game instead.

Two things I want. -the ability to filter out with keywords - $1to$10 games be split into three categories

It's every bit as shit as the PS3 store and I'm sure it's a memory leak issue The longer you spend in either of them the worse the performance gets to the point the store just crashes and kicks you out to the dashboard

One way to fix the eshop would be to have a My Search button on the left side of the shop where it saves what you filter the game types or pricing. Also a way to filter out publishers that you don’t like for good. I worry about a star rating system because we know that these dumb publishers will exploit that also. Great video! Fingers crossed for the Switch 2 shop but not getting my hopes up. 😂

It’s a slow process to redownload your purchased games.

Depending on my internet, ill be able to load most of the stuff pretty quickly-ish but yeah they definitely should work on it. I dont care for music or special effects, i just wanna go in and see games and load up quick.... and somehow filter out many shovelware games. Also whats the game at 14:37 ? It looks interesting

When it comes to that graph showing profit, and 80% first party... is the 3rd party JUST what Nintendo makes off of 3rd party eshop sales? I find it hard to believe that 3rd party is just 20% of total buys. Even if Nintendo is a majority, a lot of people buy stuff like Hogwarts, Sonic, etc.

I believe the 80% is total sales of first party both physical and digital, they also sell physical third party games on the My Nintendo store though so the 20% will accommodate those

Well, I supposed feature accessibility of enabling you to search what you want first is a better case than some bland UI design with the “Rare deals” and a faster loading time, since I don’t want to see more asset flips as it is…

I'm 40 years old and up until TOTK, I was the type to buy a zelda game blindly. this is because I know I'm gonna love it. I've lost that faith 😔. nintendo either has become, or perhaps always was, a very lazy company that doesn't care about it's fans. anouma even said that bit about nostalgia and fans not knowing what they want. I'll wait for reviews on the switch 2 before I even consider making that purchase. and the next zelda won't be a blind purchase by me. sad times

Trusted partners? Really Nintendo? I kind of agree that they don't care about the digital experience. As the leading hardware and software maker in the business, it would be nice if they could actually improve the user experience. Ratings alone would go a huge way.

Only thing they should do for next Switch, just bring back the content curation. Be like Xbox and problem will be automatically solved. After all, QA teams are humans as well so they can clearly separate a shtshow and an actual game. Thanks for the video

Its ridiculous how slow it is scrolling through it then you get half way down and click on one just to either be sent back to start or takes 5 mins to load. To find every game possible I've been going on nintendo website. Its faster but still a pain because there's like 100 pages to go through on every genre. If they didn't put a load of crap on. that number would be halfed and even when you click on one it still slowish so i have to check every game on KZread to see if i like it absolute farce. They need to do what xbox do and just put proper indie games on. Playstation have been putting crap on aswell a lately not as bad as nintendo though.

The ENTIRE console sucks, the software sucks because it’s lifeless and featureless, the game suck because they are overpriced, the hardware sucks because it’s under locked nvidia shield tv hardware, and well all know why joycons suck, the console, and Nintendo for what they been doing with the switch and fans of older games, they suck, their console sucks, much of this goes for other consoles too except hardware, this generation is the worst, Wii U may of failed, but it was better than this thing

The only thing that sucks about the Switch are the joysticks, they are trash. But otherwise it is entirely fine. And I say that as someone who considers it as "basically the same console experience as the WiiU, except worse".
