Symptoms
In men, hair often begins to recede from the forehead.
Male-pattern baldness
Women tend to lose hair along the part.
Female-pattern baldness
Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata) is sometimes preceded by itchy or painful scalp.
Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata)
Repeated stress on the hair can cause a type of hair loss called traction alopecia.
Traction alopecia
t's becoming increasingly common for menopausal women to experience frontal fibrosing alopecia, in which the hairline moves back.
Frontal fibrosing alopecia
Hair loss can appear in many different ways, depending on what's causing it. It can come on suddenly or gradually and affect just your scalp or your whole body.
Signs and symptoms of hair loss may include:
Gradual thinning on top of head. This is the most common type of hair loss, affecting people as they age. In men, hair often begins to recede at the hairline on the forehead. Women typically have a broadening of the part in their hair. An increasingly common hair loss pattern in older women is a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia).
Circular or patchy bald spots. Some people lose hair in circular or patchy bald spots on the scalp, beard or eyebrows. Your skin may become itchy or painful before the hair falls out.
Sudden loosening of hair. A physical or emotional shock can cause hair to loosen. Handfuls of hair may come out when combing or washing your hair or even after gentle tugging. This type of hair loss usually causes overall hair thinning but is temporary.
Full-body hair loss. Some conditions and medical treatments, such as chemotherapy for cancer, can result in the loss of hair all over your body. The hair usually grows back.
Patches of scaling that spread over the scalp. This is a sign of ringworm. It may be accompanied by broken hair, redness, swelling and, at times, oozing.
When to see a doctor
See your doctor if you are distressed by persistent hair loss in you or your child and want to pursue treatment. For women who are experiencing a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia), talk with your doctor about early treatment to avoid significant permanent baldness.
Also talk to your doctor if you notice sudden or patchy hair loss or more than usual hair loss when combing or washing your or your child's hair. Sudden hair loss can signal an underlying medical condition that requires treatment.
People typically lose 50 to 100 hairs a day. This usually isn't noticeable because new hair is growing in at the same time. Hair loss occurs when new hair doesn't replace the hair that has fallen out.

Your videos are so helpful. I have a clip on system planning to move to a bonded system, used your videos to find the right person to help me. I found a salon not more than 30 miles away they do cnc systems, when I told her I wanted to try Lavivid she said she would help with anything I may need. She did a template and gave me a hair sample so I could order ( I think shes excited to try it). She really made me comfortable with her knowledge and willingness to teach me. She said she would be available anytime I need help. she is in Rogers Ar. Thank you for your help.

Wow, great cut in! For any guys considering a system but are too scared, just do it. I was so worried for so long as i had thin frizzy sides and very oily skin to try blend & bond to. But it's so much easier than i thought. I go with a style kind of similar to Jake's in this vid but i dont expose my hairline. I use a mono system with poly edges & looks so much better than i ever hoped. I cut my hair myself when re-installing. It bonds for 3-4 weeks & after wearing for 15 months now i'm so stoked.

Great video. Any suggestions on the most superior tape to use on a hybrid system for someone who works out & sweats daily? Jake did a video on eurotape a year or two ago, and he was praising it highly at the time. Just wondering how this held up and if it stayed as first option till today.. or if an alternative like walkers ultra hold tape / supertape was preferred?

Hey everyone.. got a question for all. I like to glue my hair system over tape. I've been using ghost bids XL but it kinda is breaking me out and itches. Any recommendation for a different glue to try.

Man, you’re such a lovely person. I wish you all the success and more. I don’t want you to leave KZread ever. You should do men’s self improvement videos in general, they seem to be popping off. And hopefully can make your channel grow.

hey Jake I wanted to give you a update for my hair system, so i was wondering if 4 weeks is to soon for going back to the hair salon and getting it cleaned and redone, which they charge 100 dollars every 4 weeks. I was going to ask them if i can prolong that because that would get expensive.

I've said it many times before that your systems have looked bad. This one really looks far better. I couldn't see it 360 but yeah it's looking like a good density! Nicely done. Such an amazing improvement. Best of luck on your new journey in life.

Hi Jake! Thanks for the videos! Can you please do an updated video on all the products you use and how to use them? Every month you seem to crack the code on making these systems last longer. If you could take everything you've learned in the past 6 months and put it in a new video that'd be so helpful. If there's already a video on this I apologize

I have only used one person, a stylist, and she always says it's pretty much the same as cutting normal hair except that more care needs to be taken when pulling/brushing/washing. She is mega cautious about cutting it too short so it usually requires a confident push from me to get her to keep it shorter for summer months. I buy the systems with a basic cut, cut the base to my template, stick it on and head on over to the stylist. Easy peasy.

@@Houndog545 Yep I’ve only ever used Lordhair. All in all it’s been a decent experience, i order the SuperSkin-v 0.06mm. These days I get at the very least 6 months from them with some color maintenance etc. Longest one lasted me 9 months. Went through a lace period also and while it looked and felt incredible, I found it too much of a pain to maintain.
