Karn, sequels DO HAVE TO take place chronologically after the previous instalment. That's what a sequel is. If it took place before, it'd be a prequel.

My biggest hope in terms of roster is that it’s the first Digimon game to include all the Bancho Digimon and my favorite Digimon of all time, Callismon. The fact it’s confirmed to take place in the Digital World is already a huge relief

In next order, I finally got a Guilmon and a variant of Angemon, but then I took too long to reach certain stats for both and ended up with Guilmon digivolving into a numemon, and That Angemon variant digivolving into a Monzaemon. I hope they add the digimon from the vital bracelet too.

​@@StrikerJakenonly 2 of the world games are like that. 2 and 3 are basically old school turn based RPGs like cyber sleuth, with 3 being one one the best rpgs ever. And 4 being an action rpg like Diablo.

I'm a Metroid fan. I've seen not one but two "doomed" games rise from the ashes. This one isn't even a problem

My biggest concern is it will end up like Survive. A Chess Visual Novel

I hope they keep all digimon from the two Cyber Sleuth games and adding even more. Like bringing back Gumdramon, Meicoomon and their evolution lines since they never appear in both games.

The moment I heard this game is going to be set in the digital world and not the cyber world like CS/HM I was sold. The focus being on the Olympos XII is an amazing bonus. Its about time they get some love. I really think this game could be one of, if not the best digimon game we could get.

Since it had apolomon and Dianamon and takes place mainly in the digital world it would neat if even as a one off reference Light Fang and Night Crow get mentioned

It's going to be a Digimon game, and we will be glad for having it. "Good" is secondary to "please just release anything".

I wish “digimon Olympus” references the og story. Also I wish time after time activates because “digimon story Olympus” is such a good name!

Honestly yeah. Between the small tease that "info is coming soon" at Digimon Con, the franchise anniversary coming in 3 days, and Toyo Game Show in September, we've got plenty of reasons to be hopeful.

Even though we didn't get a ton of information on the new story game at con or the past few weeks, I still have my hopes that the game will still have things to look forward to after all the wait. I love the idea of it focusing on the Olympus 12 and the theme around it being the main focus is a step in great direction as they don't really appear much besides Coronamon and Lunamon as starters. I just hope they take the time they need and had to make the wait worth it

Need another digimon world game

As the Olympus 12 are my favorite Digimon Group and with how Cyber Sleuth told its story, I’m still very excited for this game despite how long it’s taking. Though I am a patient man (I am a KH fan after all), so I’m still willing to wait as I have confidence it will result in a great end product. The wait for Survive was insane, but it produced such a good game imo, so I’m willing to wait again to get that same type of end product. Some of my wishes for the game include having all the full lines we already have for the 12 in the game, which shouldn’t be too hard, but I am hoping, PRAYING even, that at least one more member gets an addition to their like. Like seriously, 9 out of the 12 members don’t have lines to any real capacity! My personal vote is for Junomon to get a line to match Jupitermon, maybe even give them a Jogress since they’re meant to be a couple. But those are just my thoughts. Thank you for lovely videos as always Karn, and keeping the information spreading!

I was wondering why CyberSleuth felt exactly familiar to me when I played Digimon World Dusk as a kid. It makes complete sense now. But also I miss the sprite work of Dusk and Dawn a lot. That was always peak to me. 3D models are also great and there's no complaints, I just am a big fan of sprites, too. And the sprite work in Dawn and Dusk rules.

As someone that was introduced to Digimon Games via Dawn/Dusk, I am SUPER excited for the new game to be Olympos-centric. Coronamon and Lunamon are my precious beans and would love to see them again! It made me sad when they made Lunamon kinda hard to get in Sleuth and Coronamon was nonexistant. :( AND I REALLY WANNA SE GRACENOVAMON IN 3D!! THEYRE COOL AF AND HAVE 0 SCREEN TIME!! (GraceNovamon was 'obtainable' in Dawn/Dusk, but required you to have a friend with the opposite game. Which means people without friends (and emulators) are SOL. And we're not gonna talk about Vpet GraceNovamon)

@@coolmangeorge Nope. That description of a friend with the opposite game/starter IS a mechanic, but it's just for the Baby Egg (which gives you Moonmon in Dawn and Sunmon in Dusk). I get the false remembering though - besides the weird egg mechanics, having the final clearly-matched mascot lines of each game combine seems both super obvious and implied.

they should let you make you're own character.. like please i want a digimon game with my own custom character

Some sources even claim that it IS Minervamon, without the Childish Mindset they had as part of the Olympos XII. I personally feel Mervamon should be a Perfect/Ultimate-Level Digimon that Evolves to the Olympos XII Member, or vice-versa, but the O-XII Digimon came First so it would get precedent here most likely... Whether they can be considered a part of the O-XII while in this Form however, is where your statement holds some credit, I'll admit...

Looking forward for this, if it is anything like Cyber Sleuth. And yeah Digimon VERY rarely follows previous ones chronologically. Imagine Plutomon and Jupitermon merging into Kronusmon.

Yeah, I'm in the boat of "didn't know they were making one" 😂. I love the turn based Digimon games, so I'm hoping it'll be more like those. The DS games were some of my favourite, digivolving and the De-digivolving to make them stronger and try out different routes was always my favourite part of these games. Fingers crossed we get a release over here.

6:16 It's worth noting that _not a single Digimon game has actually ever had every digimon in existence at the time_ to begin with. And I'm certainly not holding my breath for Tinmon to return beyond that background cameo in the DCG BT2-055 ToyAgumon card art at this point, even if Rockmon (not to be confused with Golemon) was in the Digimon Adventure reboot.

The wait is killing me on the inside xD. I admit I will always be a Royal Knight guy (One reason I hate myself for not playing Cyber Sleuth) but I am hella hyped for what they will do for the Olympos XII in the spotlight

Quick question, i wish to cover the digimon story games should I start with the original, play the most recent, or wait for the new one?

I recently got into digimon via my buddy. I finished Cyber Sleuth and Survive recently so excited for a new game.

Cyber sleuth and Hackers memory I still play to this day I know there’s so many Digimon and I’m not super avid in the series but I hope my favorite line gets added, Lorvomon to Volcanicdramon! It’s been my favorite for a while since they came on the D-vices!

I'll be honest, my purchase of the title entirely hinges on "can I run Seadramon?"

I remember how mad some people were that we weren't getting more news for Survive. Like a new screenshot, some info on a new character, then complete silence for months and months. Some had just gave up on it because it either took too long, or there wasn't enough communication. And in the ned, we finally got the game, annouced 3 months before release. Let's be hopeful about this one too. I prefer not having news but knowing the game is still in development enough time to be good, than having it rushed to prove people it actually exists. And like... people really say this game isn't real? Can't they just do a 5 second google search before saying you're making stuff up? Or be up to date?

I remain simple: So long as I can have Wizardmon, I am happy with the digimon in the game lol. So glad that there will be another Digimon Story title. I doubt they'll take this route now, but I would love to have this one localized in English with the option for English voices. Sometimes, relying on the wall of text (that isn't even checked for syntax errors or spelling in a professional game) is difficult. I loved Cybersleuth, but there were some glaring errors in the English text. Next Order did better, but also had the option of English voices. Regardless, this is the best video game news I've had in ages. Thank you Karn!

I think like you and two other Digimon content creators are single-handedly the only voices they think we have for Digimon outside of Japan

I hope there are more fresh and in training level Digimon in the new game with an emphasis on being able to re-create the evolution lines of the characters from the various anime

usually when a game company says "soon", it normally means there's iether no timeframe of announcement or the game doesn't even exist or was scrapped all together.

One thing I’d like to see (not necessarily from the next story or world game but a survive esque game where characters have set partners) is a Digimon that’s been seen before as a partner in the anime but they completely go with a different Digivolition path as a subversion. An example I can think of off the top of my head would be if a character gets paired with a Biyomon but instead of going down the standard Birdramon or Aquilamon lines they go with say Xiquemon. Or they could just give said Digimon multiple branches so you could get the best of both worlds, the nostalgic and the new.

@Karn_EX the durability and flexibility is actually insane. The sheer fact that it not only survived being crushed underfoot accidentally, folding one edge onto itself. But was able to be bent back to normal without so much as a crack is absolutely amazing.

I think the game is very likely to come out, especially in the wake of those announcements. I'm not a big fan of the story games myself, or really any Digimon game from Data Squad onwards, but in general I feel like they've been pretty consistent with releasing promised games since Re-Digitize. I don't see the rationale in being negative about the realease timing, if you're looking forward to the game and there's a promise there that mirrors promises made before and effectuated then just have a bit a patience, it'll come out.

I would love a story that the Olympus 12 fought the other gods like the Aztec ones talcmon or the Egyptian gods like pharomon or anubismon.

I appreciate this video! I'm a recent fan so a lot of the news about this game is stuff I didn't know. I thought a lot of the people talking about "a new Digimon game" were just huffing copium but I guess there really is one brewing up! It's unfortunate to learn that Habu left the project, and I do think that might result in consequences for its quality, but if he left this late in development perhaps there will still be a lot of his unique hand on the game. Regardless, I'm positive it's coming out, after a Nintendo Direct where we saw the revival of Mario and Luigi and MVC2 as well as actual concrete footage of Metroid Prime 4 (and in the same year we got Mario RPG and Thousand Year Door remakes, all things I assumed would never happen), I'm ready to believe just about anything now!

I hope that when this game releases we get full and branching evolution lines for important new Digimon such as Pulsemon, Gammamon, Jellymon, Angoramon, Loogamon, Pteromon, Shoemon, Punkmon, Forgebeemon, etc. as raisable Digimon partners

Hey Karn if we are heading for Ilaid server i hoping our starting partner Digimon Coronamon & Lunamon and on our journey we are partnering up with other digimon who are connected to the Olympus 13 with Aegismon Orgemon & Dobermon being digimon encounters to test our worthiness of being the chosen child to reunite the olympus 13 aegismon and dobermon being a mentor and rival respectively while Orgemon is Enemy who turns ally after being purified via Apollomon and Dianamon

Digimon Story games are, mechanically speaking, my favourite kind of Digimon games. So it's nice to see there's gonna be more.

There is a lot of digimon that I need to see in a digimon story game, but I would just be happy to have my boy Psychemon
