You could also get distonic cruise control as an option some models. I think voice control for some functions was also fairly new.

i own a 2009 CLK 350 grand edition at now 153K miles (owned at @69K Miles) and still running smooth and in prestine condition. other than minor oil leaks from oil cooler housing (wear and tead)that i can do repairs on my own + regular oil changes it's still in amazing condition. either you have to have sincere interest/passion for basic mechanical repairs or you're extremely wealthy otherwise don't own a benz and/or any other luxury sports car. you will make dealerships richer.

Pretty cool, my 2003 SL has those except the sunroof. These are great cars, they handle like no other. Good video.

My UK spec R230 has the 'Rest' button for warm air when the engine is off. I think I've used it once in 18 years!

distronic is amazing, have that feature in my SL600 2004. Apart from SBC/ABC which is when it fails. Amazing car. 👌

I cant believe i forgot to mention that one 😫😫 it's definitely something that wasn't common back then. SL600 is amazing, was almost thinking of getting one before the SL55, just for that insane V12 turbo.

@@ShutterSpeed_auto got a SL55 also, the way they both deliverer the power is amazing, the SL55 is direct…here you go bang 💪, the V12 is like a gentle push and much more refined 😇, no drama and the torque on the V12 wow!!! The SL600 is a true sleeper once de-badged. But ease of maintenance the M113K all day ❤️

Most definitely will. Love these older SLs, I think as long as you do research beforehand so you know what you're getting into, it might not be as scary as some people make it seem

@@toeleg Very real. sometimes only way to find issues is just to drive it and see how everything is after a few months. Thankfully lots of forum reading and youtube videos helped me sort out lots of the issues with this car myself. Definitely worth it to drive when the top is down and you're just cruising 😁😁

Most definitely, and very costly too.. Im glad mercedes has a 25year warranty on the SBC though

The SBC isn’t as bad since it has a 25 years warranty

Great but you barely scratched the surface. R230's are a technological tour-de-force from turn of the century Mercedes. I won't spoil your future episodes but there's a lot going on here.
