Who are some players you would like to see the Cardinals kick the tires on in trade scenarios?

I think someone like Fedde or Anderson or Luzardo is exactly who the Cardinals need to avoid. Guys that are good but not great and probably are the best they're going to be right now (buying high). Fedde is a career 4.99 FIP currently pitching to a 3.78 FIP for example.

3:08 There’s really no point in wearing themselves out trying to catch Milwaukee when they’ll still end up playing in the wildcard series regardless. They just aren’t going to catch the Dodgers or the Phillies to skip the wildcard round so what’s the point in caring about winning the division. That’s the biggest flaw in the current postseason format.

Good chance to gain some ground over the next 3 games. The Brewers play the Phillies and it isn’t unreasonable to believe the Cardinals could take 2 out of 3 from the Astros.

@@georgesouthwick7000 oh I completely could see them taking the division but there’s really no benefit to winning it since your playing the wildcard round either way. Unless all three wildcard spots are taken by East or West teams which is possible. I just know that whether we get in via wildcard or winning the division we’re still not going to be ahead of Phillie or LA.

I agree and once matz comes back you can use him or the new pitcher as a bridge in the bullpen in case one of the starters has a rough day. Same with Pallante.

I don't know which one surprised me more the fact our Cardinals won this game or the fact the staff has been finally acknowledging when it's time to pull a pitcher from the game, I'm very impressed with that. The several arms out of the bullpen kept the Cardinals from getting blown out of the water in this game.

I would like to see a reunion with Tommy Pham. On the pitching side, I would like Luis Severino with the Mets. Both perform well historically in the playoffs and are having solid years so far and shouldn’t be out of our price range, as they are on expiring contracts.

Roughly 60 games into the season and you're calling it for the Brewers? The Cards have lost their entire outfield and starting catcher, and what, that can't happen to the Brewers? It's a long season and you know that!

They need to get rid of the wild card

I think José Soriano, Carlos Estévez (switch nights with Helsley), Hunter Strickland old vet, could be a good trade with Angels picking up would be nice, José is young but think it's a better move than Anderson whom will likely only get worse.

Im sorry JD, I'm tired of the we csn make another infielder an outfielder. For every Tommy Edman, there is a Kolton Wong who was horrible in the outfield. More importantly, they need to commit to the players they have at their positions. Walker for better or worse has already been made an outfielder and was our next superstar. Bring him back before making Fermin learn it on the fly in the majors like we did to Walker last year. Pitchers too, yes we can make Matz a reliever if he ever stays off the IL. Of course we had to get rid of BroNeill because he was injury prone, but not before we beat down his trade value to near nothing. We didn't want Hicks or Montgomery back and i don't want to hear they didn't want to without an explanation as to why? Larry Walker, Will Clark, many players use to want to come here. Tired of trolling for deadline miracles to make the playoffs, when we could be dominating the Central. Chuckles DeWitt can laugh at Cardinal Nation all he wants, but being married to the "Mozaliak Way" has produced good, but not good enough teams to go deep in the playoffs or World Series. Because of the standard set by the real Cardinal Way, Cardinal Nation expects more and not to be laughed at. I said before the season started that i loved Goldschmidt, but age and contract demands we trade him for young stud pitching and give Baker/Burleson a chance at first. Youth must be served you have Prieto, Suggesse, and msny more on the way. Sorry for the rant, I love the show and the Cardinals ❤

We are more likely to be sellers at the deadline, and frankly it's probably better in the long run for this organization to sell.

It’s pretty sad when we have all these outfielders but end up needing more 2 months into the season. Also sad that Gibson is a “pillar” of this rotation

I think it's the Phillies year all due respect to them.

I personally think trading Arenado, Goldy and Helsley at the trade deadline would be the best and smartest thing for the future of the organization. The Cardinals farm system is sad. They have very little if any pitching and not much hitting. Everyone needs to come to terms that it's time to start a rebuild. Obviously keep the young players that aren't owed a lot of money or due for a large payday.

I agree they should be gone but what in Gods name could you get for goldy not even a low aa player just bench goldy or bat him 9th or dfa him and cut your losses

I am still pissed that they sent Walker down last year. They ruined his swing. If they are true to form, it is about time to send Wynn down to get some lift in his swing. That should make him an automatic out also.

Its a long season hot teams get cold late and col teams get hot .. alot of these standings will flip late season

JD do you think the Cardinals will trade Gorman? Man, i hope not. As a 50+yr fan of the Redbirds i honestly think he is the future of this team and a franchise player. He has improved a lot better in defense at 2nd as well. Esp since he always played 3rd before that.

I'm not jd, but I say they won't trade him. And I've been hard on him this year as you already know, but I have noticed something when he's batting he keeps pulling his head towards right field when he swings and that takes his eyes 👀 of the ball and I believe that's what his problem is if he can stop doing that he would make alot more contact. And he did pretty good tonight. Hitting coach should be seeing that and helping him imo

I like your suggestion of Rooker as an outfield bat with power, and Blackburn could be a good pitching option. If you’re going with an Oakland pitcher though, what about Sears instead of Blackburn? He’s a lefty and having a similar season to Blackburn so far.

Brewers swept the White Sox something the Cardinals couldn't do maybe the Brewers get swept in Philly next series and not even win 1 single game in which we did? Maybe.

I think the Blue Jays will be sellers and Yusei Kikuchi might be a good option for a trade.

When did the expectations change to such low standards? Cardinals baseball should be what it was my entire life, and now it’s.. Well we won out of three.

Why would we give up any young talent for this team? Playing better yes, but not a serious contender.

Matz's contract quickly became a starter version of the Brett Cecil one, money spent on them to pay for their medical bills and relaxing at home in their mansions watching their lack of contributions biting the Cards in the butt. "At least we don't have a Rendon contract" lol

Matz can shove in the bullpen. Let’s get some more starting prices and put Matz back out there. He’s not reliable enough to bet on him being healthy for the playoffs

You can see it in their face everytime they come to bat and not to mention all the errors nolan has already. Get rid of both. The Cardinals don't have any players they can afford to part with. They need to be sellers and we need to quit acting like they can do anything in the playoffs much less make it there.

Cardinals aren’t signing anyone. It’s a waste if they do. They are not contenders. Why trade another superstar? I’m leaving the cardinals fan base.
