HERBAL TEA for Common Cold and Flu

Ойын-сауық

When I don't feel well, I quickly run to have a cup o comforting tea. I like to mix different herbs that have different properties in my cold/flu tea. It is important to remember that those herbs do not interfere with prescription medications.
All of these herbs can be grown locally here in New England, but its ok to purchase them online. Most can be found on Amazon.
Ingredients in my Tea:
Lemon Balm, Chamomile, Linden tree flowers. Red Raspberry leaves, Echinacea, Oregano, Thyme, Knot-weed, Elder Flowers, Bee balm, Nasturtium, Stinning Nettle, Mullien, St. John Wart.

Our grandma always used to make herbal teas for us from her supplies when we got sick with colds 🙂

Thank you. Start with just a few simple ones that grow in your area. Sometimes we reach for exotic herbs when we have so many great things right under our feet, Sometimes literally.

Being prepared is a good idea. Keep in mind dry herbs only good for about 2 years.

Hello. Can you tell me the typ of Linden tree that you have. Id like to buy one. Until then I'll order sone flowers. I have ordered a lot of seeds. I have dead nettles in my yard, and another one green long leaves that can help you if you get cut. I'm tired and cannot think of the name right now. Do you use comfrey?

I believe the tree is called Basswood, not sure.

Yes, it grows readily in temperate climates. Look for a tree covered with bees in the spring, its most likely linden , basswood.

Would it not be more available as a tincture?

I have many tinctures which I also use. When dealing with cold /flu we need to drink lots of warm liquids such as bone broth and tea. I love to offer this tea to many family. Also, forgot to mention, yes alcohol based tinctures are strong. But they only have alcohol/fat soluble properties in the tincture. Teas ( my teas infuse for 15-20 minutes) are infusions to extract water soluble properties.
