Hi everyone! Lately there have been so many questions about making a tincture with apple cider vinegar that I decided to make a video about it somewhere in between now and the beginning of the new year. For now though just to answer the most asked question “can you make a tincture with apple cider vinegar” yes you can!

What an amazing video thank you! Do you have any experience or educational knowledge if could be topical use for Rosemary to help high level of stress and anxiety?
@EvasHomeVintageDIY
4 ай бұрын
Hi, research shows that inhaling the aroma of rosemary essential oil can lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol in your blood so maybe an essential oil could help. The tincture I would personally not use topical in this case. What helped me a lot when I had extremely high stress levels was taking suntheanine (suplement) you do need make sure though to have a very good queality (it really needs to say there is suntheanine in it, not just L-theanine) and this is quite expensive. I also noticed that not all brands work the same. For me The L-Theanine 602 from AOV works the best but this is probably just available in The Netherlands. General recommended dosage: 100-200 mg 1-3 times daily Therapeutic dosage up to a maximum of 400-800 mg 3 times a day I did the Therapeutic dosage. I would usually not just recommend supplements to anyone because I am not a doctor, but this really helped me though some very tough times. I really hope this helps!
What an awesome video thank you, I'm going to make some right now with 50% alcohol vodka. And maybe after the 6 weeks could I transfer the jar into small brown bottles with an eyedropper 3 oz bottles and then put it in the fridge to take up less room? Plus the added benefit of brown bottles to Shield it from any light, also new subscriber here thank you

Hi Linda, fresh is always better but dried will work just fine too!
Hello, first time seeing one of your videos, was wondering if this would be something that would be good for CRPS/RSD ? ??
@EvasHomeVintageDIY
Жыл бұрын
Hi Michelle, I know nothing about CRPS/RSD but just looked it up real quick and what I could see what that it causes a lot of pain? I don't think this tincture on its own will do much about that but I do think that it could help with other things to work better (like a mixture of other tinctures for example or maybe it could help the medicine you are already taking) but the only way to find out if that's the case would be to try it (very carefully).
Thank you so much for this video. Question…. Can I apply this tincture on my scalp for hair growth? Or is oil and rosemary better for hair growth?
@EvasHomeVintageDIY
2 ай бұрын
Hi Martha, I would personally not do that because of the alcohol in it. I don't think alcohol is good for your hair. If you want to try rosemary I would do it with oil. What really works wonders for hair (and nails) growth for me taking is amino acids. A good quality BCAA powder really makes a difference.
Thank you for a most informative video I made the tincture and it has infused for just over 4 weeks Guess what it was given to a friend who is losing hair It looked the same as the oil and became the labels had been mixed up the tincture was massaged. Into the hair 🤫🥲 Any ideas if this could be harmful? It happened to my friend so I’m a bit concerned I hope you will get a minute to read this message and reply Thank you!

Hi, sorry for my late reply.. I was in Sweden on a house-hunting adventure;) I think your friend is going to be ok. The alcohol will make hair dry but I assume he or she rinsed it out right?
I picked a bunch of rosemary from my plant awhile back and let it dry out in my house. Can I use that or is it best to use fresh?? Thanks so much.

Yes you can! I always use fresh herbs/plants/roots/berries when I can but if I can't find something fresh I also just use the dried variant.

Hi, I always use Vodka. Probably you could use a different alcohol too as long as it is just as strong in %. It takes about 6 weeks before it is completely ready but off course you can already start taking it after a day or so if you are really in need of it. I always do that. I think most herbal properties are absorbed into the vodka very quickly.. after that it just becomes a bit more strong.
Hi, I really enjoyed this video ☺️🙌🏻💖 Have you recovered from ME/cfs? Hi Linda, I am so sorry to hear that you are sick! Not much health care help here too. I would love to make more herbal remedies.. Especially some that would help something like cfs a bit but the issue is time and you will probably also guess it... energy;) I just don't have enough of it. One day I will do it though hopefully soon! I have not recovered from my cfs but I am slowly doing better then I did in the last years. Its a combination of all kinds of things. A special diet, lots of self-care, stress-management and lots of trial and error. I really hope you are ok. I have had a diagnoses for ptsd in the past (no longer though) and that's very rough.. especially with cfs together!

Hi, if you have a tincture with a high alcohol percentage you can keep it for lots longer then a year if you kept it in a dark cool place so if you have done that I would just use it.
Are all of the benefits you are talking about at this point 4:00, accessible through the tincture or other applications of rosemary?

Hi Maryl. no I dont because it's from my own garden. I do shake it a bit to remove anything that might be on it;)
What about apples cider vinegar.?
@EvasHomeVintageDIY

You can do that too, it just it expires a bit faster and it takes longer to make. Or at least that's what google told me but it is also cheaper. So not a bad at all idea I think.
Did you wash first the rosemary before it cut ?
@EvasHomeVintageDIY
9 ай бұрын
Hi, no I did not because it came from my own garden, I just shook it a bit just to make sure no little creatures were on it;) You can wash it if that makes you feel better but just let it dry a bit... maybe hang it up side down for a while because too much water will lower the alcohol percentage.
Very good video. Can I use wine instead of vodka?

It won’t work with wine. The vodka has a mixture of water and helps it steep so you’re getting the properties from the plant

@@emilyc191 thank you for your reply. How about mixing red wine and vodka ?
@EvasHomeVintageDIY
Жыл бұрын
Hi, sorry for the late response. The alcohol extracts the ingredients from the herbs that would otherwise not be released. The percentage of alcohol used for a tincture is between 25% and 90%. Below 20%, the alcohol percentage is too low to function as a preservative. The alcohol percentage of the solvent is adjusted to the plant parts you have and the active substances we want to extract from the plant. As far as the plant material is concerned, you can use the following alcohol percentages: 30 - 55%, for soft and succulent plant parts such as flowers and leaves 55 - 70% for seeds, roots and harder, lignified plant parts 70 - 90% for resins Rosemary has lignified parts so between 30 - 55% works best. I hope this answers your question.
@EvasHomeVintageDIY
Жыл бұрын
I guess a bit of red wine mixed in with the vodka would be oke as long as the alcohol % does not get to low. I am curious though why you want to use red wine?

Can you mix rosemary and oregano? Thank you ..
@EvasHomeVintageDIY

Hi, yes you could although maybe it's more useful to separate the two (and then just take one teaspoon of each) because oregano is also antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-parasitic so you could use it on your skin mixed with some water for example for a foot bath or for all kinds of other things. Nice to have?

Can we use the tinture in the scalp for hair
@EvasHomeVintageDIY
Жыл бұрын
Well... to be honest.. I don't think your hair would like that... not because of the Rosemary but because of the Vodka. I think it would dry out your hair completely. You could make a tea out of Rosemary and rinse your hair with it. I don't know what the benefit would be for your hair but it would be interesting to try something like that out.
