herbal hair tea recipe:
2 cups water
1/4 cup hibiscus flower
2 tbs dried rosemary
1 tbs dried nettle leaf
2 tbs chamomile flower
optional: 1tsp-1tbs apple cider vinegar
recipe by @earth2sydni
many herbal hair rinses are used to condition/add moisture to the scalp, combat dandruff, promote hair growth, and reduce inflammation. although rinses can be done 1-3 times a week, this batch yields about two rinses within the seven day timeframe!
here’s why i chose these herbs🌿
rosemary - anti-microbial, promotes hair growth and thickness
stinging nettle - prevents hair loss, boosts growth
chamomile - soothing to the scalp, boosts shine and hydration
hibiscus - promotes hair growth and combats dandruff
though the benefits of hibiscus aren’t strongly supported through clinical trial
acv - removes product buildup and helps balance the pH of our scalp
these herbs can be used as individual rinses or in a mix so feel free to experiment with your own herbal blends as well!

Aaaa! I just installed a grid of microlocs for myself, and I used to make something VERY similar to this when I used to keep my hair twisted often. I’m going to start making it again, now that I’m starting my loc journey, and will definitely be adding chamomile since I have it. I also add oregano to mine, and strain it through a 300 mesh strainer.

But some of the lint could be from clothes not just the shower, so we could brush the ends either in or out of the shower. I also use freeetheroots

hey! I just edited the description to include a link to where I buy my herbs! But if they’re out of stock, I would look into Frontier Co-op or even Etsy for small amounts!

Can this be used while using a steamer? Does the rinse still need to be washed out?

i usually wash out my rinses just because there can be residues or herbal particles left over.
