Hera Hyesang Park has quickly established herself as one of the leading sopranos of her generation, hailed for her bright, clear voice and impressive coloratura technique. Here, she showcases her lyric qualities with the famous Schubert song ‘Ellens Gesang’ (Ave Maria), recorded at the Meistersaal in Berlin and accompanied by pianist Sarah Tysman as part of Deutsche Grammophon’s Musical Moments series. One of Schubert’s best-loved tunes - a melody full of love and longing - ‘Ellens Gesang’ is an epitome of Romantic song.

This is the Hail Mary prayer by Schubert, which has the same melody as Ellens Gesang III, Op. 52, No. 6, D. 839 “Ave Maria“, though the German Ellens Gesang has lyrics which have a completely different meaning, even though they are both prayers to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

바바라 보니 버전을 제일 좋아했는데 박혜상 소프라노도 정말 잘하십니다.목소리가 예쁘면서도 파워가 있네요.외모도 고우시고 잘츠부르크 페스티발에서 수산나나 피오르딜리지 맡으시면 아주 딱일거 같네요.
Though listed as "Ellens Gesang III" by Schubert, she is actually singing the Latin text of a Catholic prayer to the Virgin Mary. Schubert set his Lied to a German text that has nothing to do with this prayer.
This is beautifully sung, but the title Ellen's Gesang refers to the German version of this music, which was the original by Schubert, and was a poem by Walter Scott called Lady of the Lake. The Latin was adapted into it later. Personally I like the German better, I think the words fit better into the music and the Latin is a bit awkwardly fit into it.

Wahre Eleganz ist zeitlos. Sie sieht umwerfend aus und hat zwar Fingerspitzengefühl. Trotzdem ziehe ich Barbara Bonney vor.
역시 아름다운 목소리로 내가 '최애'하는-'아베 마리아' 중에서- 슈베르트의 곡을 불러주어 좋았다. 다만 아쉬운 것은, 1) 원곡의 언어인 독일어로-나도 부를줄 아는...^ ^ 부르지 않은 점, 2) 의상을 반주자의 검은색과 대조되고, 성스럽고 정결해 보일 수 있는 흰색을 입지 않은 점이 다소 아쉬웠다... 그나저나, 이 싱글 앨범은 어떻게 해야 구입할 수 있는 건가요~!?
