I think it's her Mom. My mother told me Minnie Ripperton got the all clear with breast cancer, the public thought she beat it, and surprise her death shocked everyone. Normani may not want to put the album out for fear of her mom's condition relapsing, while she, Nirmsnj then has a commitment to travel to promote the album and perform.

I think it's her label and her at the same time. Normani said in an interview one time that she tends to stand in her own way a lot. I think Beyonce comparisons and the pressure to come out killing 'em really did a number on her. She also struggles with finding a sound and deals with the dilemma of "is it R&B enough? is it pop enough?" Normani came from a girl group that was pop.

I think Normai can do well if she releases an album and actually work it with a rollout. The fact that we've been waiting so long will work in her favor. She's basically infamous at this point. Ppl are angry at her for taking so long but the anger is because of anticipation. If her album is good and they do a good job with lining up performances/ a whole marketing concept for after release.. Her album will sell. Again it will be bc of anticipation and good music. And Normani actually makes good music. Hell, the anticipation is so strong she could almost do a surprise drop. If it's good music, ppl will listen. Trust me!

@@hallelegion9854 the 'hate' for Chloe is because Chloe's team marketed Chloe as on par with Normani and it low key pissed fans as it undermined Normani's achievements. To this day people still bring up Chloe's name when discussing Normani, that's how strong the marketing and bots was and made out like the wait for both are equal when people been waiting for Normani before a solo Chloe existed. In reality and this is no shade to Chloe, but Chloe did not come from a worldwide selling group, Chloe did not have the exposure of being on a reality tv, Chloe did not have a debut single and multiple singles that been in the top 10, Chloe does not have high counts on her videos, Chloe hits bubbling under with a video and a feature and Chloe gets a heavy push, is pretty much the only artist on parkwood and ultimately her singles, features and branding have been sub par. Normani finances her video, gets her singles taken off ALL streaming sites on release week, has a label that release her material once a year while some of her underperforming labelmates get multiple releases, gets blamed for not releasing (when it's her labels control) and sells against heavy resistance. They basically used (and are still using) the anticipation for Normani's album as marketing for Chloe and in my opinion are not letting Normani release until Chloe's team is ready and / or continues to grows her brand. Parkwood will aim to put Chloe's album out at the same time as Normani to continue the Chloe / Normani theme (which only benefits Chloe) and make calls to hold Normani back or get them to do a collab. Normani been ready to release Candy Paint since June 2022 and it makes no sense that Jay-Z / Roc Nation bought Normani's management S10 and do NOTHING

Normani’s mother has been battling cancer for decades now. It recently came back, and even though her mother insisted that she moved forward with the album, Normani put it on hold. Once that album drops, she’s going to blow. She’s going to be everywhere, and that would leave no room for her to be there for her mother. While she was in Fifth Harmony, a lot of the other girls experienced the same issue. They missed funerals, last/significant moments, etc… She’s taking her time because she knows what it’s like to be in constant work mode. Fifth Harmony debuted in 2015 and by 2017, they recorded their fourth studio album and were constantly touring/doing promotional endeavors. 4 albums in two years??? insane. not to mention all of the tours in between. Once she drops the album, and make certain commitments, there’s no turning back. I think we have to consider these factors as well.

To be honest, I’m not sure if Normani will ever happen the way we want her too. I feel like the industry isn’t putting enough exposure behind female R&B/Pop stars. I don’t even feel like it’s just a Normani problem because Chloe is very consistent compared to Normani and Chloe’s records don’t even do well. There’s just something about the black female pop/R&B performer that’s not getting the same recognition as it used too. I have a theory that female rap has taken that slot because they are getting more recognition then the R&B girls. I’m not sure what it is but I’m hoping that nobody can make a transition back into music but I’m not sure if it’s gonna happen in a big way

Nah. I disagree. Poor management and career moves. Sza, Ari, Summer Walker, Lizzo, Jazmine Sullivan and HER are all doing well in their own rights. All have albums, singles, a supportive fanbase and have charted. ITS THE MANAGEMENT!! Normani and SZA are on the same label...but SZA is on TDE under the same label. SZA is a PRIORITY AND FOCUS on TDE. Normani is not the focus nor a priority and that has gotta be a combination of label and management. There's NO REASON after the success of wild side that they should have dropped the ball with 2nd single choice. Chloe's solo music is her problem. Its just not good or catchy. Chloe has the team and has been given and earned the opportunities to advance but still won't catch on. I just rewatched her opener tour with Ariana Grande again and SIS HAS GOT IT! But I honestly feel like it’s some heavy colorism happening. It’s def her label fumbling but also I feel the higher ups don’t wanna push a brown/dark skin pop star. And even though I love Chloe Bailey and think she’s super talented and a great singer but I see that they are pushing her a lot more to be “next up” after Bey when honestly IMO she just doesn’t have that IT factor like NORMANI does on stage. NORMANI should be next up too. I hate she’s getting done dirty like this. Her music should be put out too. She either stepped on toes or it’s some heavy colorism going on.

Your argument is invalid. All you stated was an artist being popular on social media. Social media doesn't equate to sales. Normani is in a social media personality-driven industry but doesn't frequent social media. RCA should’ve never encouraged her to release it. Especially if they weren’t going to promote it or send it to the right radio format. Fair is a good song, but a follow up to the 3x platinum Wild Side? That was definitely a choice, and not a smart one. Candy Paint or a uptemp should’ve came immediately after Wild Side. It they wanted a slow song to be released it should’ve came with the album pre order. Normani works her butt off, but RCA is a weird label & their choices BTS with their artist, Normani specifically are very weird…

I feel like every week there’s a different think piece or video dissecting Normani’s career. It’s really not that hard to figure out what is going on. Normani and her THREE other group members from Fifth Harmony have all been held back (by different labels) from releasing full albums because they’re still stuck in a shitty contract and a strict NDA. They can’t even discuss it which is why Normani is never online or discussing her label drama because she cannot tell the truth. Fifth Harmony is still trapped under their labels thumb, I believe purposely because originally the label didn’t want them competing with Camila after she went Solo. Camila was smart and got a solo deal with the same label fifth harmony was already signed to. So they kept her in house and gave her band mates terrible contracts when they re-signed for their last album.
