When Henry is talking to the kids in hospital, he says that his mother is the Duchess for Edinburgh and later, his father is dead. To be "HRH Prince of Wales" he would have a son of a Prince of Wales. I believe his father was not the son of the king, but his mother is the daughter of the king. Maybe, Henry should be addressed as "HRH Prince Henry of Edinburgh"?

the whole 'prince of wales' thing is laughable in the book/film. the writer went for a different family name (Hanover-Stuart-Fox) than the actual British royal family but attached this 'prince of wales' title on her character Henry? the whole world knows 'the prince of wales' is the heir to the throne and always has been. apparently, the US author of the book is playing games with us. in her book Henry is not the heir to the throne, maybe this was a bit much for her to deal with the consequences. Henry's father was an actor (so very probably just married into the royal family like Grace Kelly married Rainier of Monaco) and your assumption about his mother is correct. the man getting married at the start of the film should be the prince of wales and not Henry.

@@luiscarracedo7793 meaning the poster above is correct. if Henry's mother (as the king's daughter) was/is styled _Duchess of Edinburgh_ then he would be _HRH Prince Henry of Edinburgh_ (as long as his father lives). should his father have died and no older brother exists, then he would be styled _HRH Prince Henry, Duke of Edinburgh_ . it's all very simple and clear except for the US author or she intentionally wants to confuse us with the 'prince of wales' thing. why do writers and their publishers (lectors) do this? even if the writer can't get it right, someone on the publisher's side should correct such amistake - unless it is intentionally^^
