Yup another one of these...
So in the past 5-6 months my channels stats have been magically rising due to a number of things. although the biggest contribution is the Off the rails remake i did a while back. it has now (as of the video) reached 1.5 Million views! That is huge number for a non monetised channel that uploads every 2-10 months.
So last night while Aaron of TramEngineStudios was asking me for a CGI clip he could do I thought "theirs 3 or so hours till a show I wanna watch and feel the need to make something in Trainz" mix that with Aaron turning down this episode my mind went straight to how I'd do it. Then I...did it....but.....
MY GOD I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS IN FOR!
Looking at the finished project you'd think ewww why is it so laggy and has a few awkward shots around the turntable. well dear reader the problem was i wasn't aware of how logistically difficult it was to to the stuff with the turntable. theirs engines slowly getting on and off the turntable in a very short amount of time which makes scene for CGI but in trainz my goodness did i want to rip my brain out! Add to it that i gave myself a limited time and i wanted to be in call screen sharing everything. This made for some laggy shots and a unfocused time filming as i was focused on getting anything rather than spending more time refining the shots. For example theirs one shot where Henry is supposed to be turning on the turntable and isn't and the pan down at the end Henry judders and freezes. Couple this with the fact this was made at 1440p (2 times 1080p) then you get this video. One that I made in about 4 hours with a load of file conversion issues and nearly killing poor Aaron for the thumbnail.
“But Curtis why don't you just redo the shots?” well dear reader i wanted self contained project to show people why i don't just spend a evening making these kinds of videos. Because i don't have enough time or motive to do them. As well as I’m usually working on something else or like have been for the past week been playing a lot of Minecraft on the switch.
So basically what I’m saying is...DO YA HOMEWORK KIDS. Especially if you write a KZread description longer than you're homework about film history on Italian Neorealism and french new wave :/.

P.s I Know that this I a “cash grab” but i see it as more of a proof of concept on the idea of low production timed videos. Who know this might just get a cool million too ;P
