It's not a problem, I come across a few henrys and I will keep all of it for parts, they are never thrown away from here anymore.
Good info mate! Tedious process. I'm thankful about finding out that the fan retainer nut was left handed. YOU DA MAN BOOTSOWEN!
Thanks, glad you have the patience to find out what was wrong in this throw away world , well done.

@@bootsowen it made a great vid. It demonstrated logical progression of diagnosis, Viability, & then failure investigation. Tbh I'm glad that stator was gone, with the amounts of oxidation & no thermal cut-out , I'd be using that Henry while holding a fire extinguisher !!! ...

Thanks Tommy, I was glad to get to the bottom of it. I learned something. Maybe it is their low tech nature, but Henry's are relatively simple to fix and also quite straightforward to get to the actual root of the fault/cause. except perhaps the hi lo boards!

@@bootsowen yes, I admire Numatic International for still producing good designed well priced, deliberately repairable units, whilst competeing with high end Gucci vacuums & low end disposable competitors. & Still keeping UK jobs. I always thought their marketing department should exploit their parts availability & repairability as an eco option to boost sales.
Owen, and on to the bitter end, that cheap bearing with bad machining would give trouble very quickly, some of them are not even hardened. How far do you go on a repair, I suspect the switch is duff also because of the fluctuating voltage reading, cheers
Oh god a Henry compact lol
The bearings in these motors I have found through measuring the inner race size are non-standard. Although a 608ZZ which is 8mm x 22mm x 7mm, the bore size on these is slightly smaller (7.7mm) than the ones readily available which results in it not fitting snug on the shaft. I assume this is deliberate by the manufactures to prevent the bearings being replaced which is a common problem. The impeller end bearing is also epoxied in I've found, presumably to prevent it spinning in the plastic casting when it heats up. It is removal with care to avoid the seat cracking. If anyone knows of a source for the correct bearing I would be interested to hear.

What about using epoxy to seat the bearing? Or would it be difficult to get it to run true?

@@bootsowen That would probably work or a smear of JB Weld as it's only a minor difference in size. I've not tried it but will give if a go on the next one needing bearings.
I got loads of different colours looks like chalk or mini rocks coming from inside the motor anyone know what that is ?😊
