The finest performance of this I have heard. The tuba has excellent tone quality throughout his range, and the piano and piccolo are masters of their instruments also.

This could have been so much more delightful with some ritardando moments, longer fermatas, rubato, accelerandos, etc. An unimaginative performance. Too bad. This work can be very much more playful and funny.

I actually thought it was quite expressive. I’m not sure how much tuba and piccolo you listen to, but this is by far some of the best and lightest I’ve heard on both. I think you just heard the first 3 seconds of piano before attempting to fit your entire musical vocabulary into one sentence.
