This movie deserves more views.

Le coucher de soleil représente le plan le plus long à mettre en place : on a bossé à 3, pendant une demi-journée juste pour la mise en place des décors et de l'éclairage, sans animation. C'est principalement Lilian Ginet qui s'est occupé de l'éclairage, pendant qu'avec Jean-René Helbert nous avons organisé le décor. On a un peu triché sur les perspectives pour donner l'illusion que le décor est gigantesque. Au montage, on a rajouté quelques teintes "dorées", mais c'est tout.

We started writing the story a long time ago (I think back in 2008), adding new ideas every week and trying to make a solid storyline. Shooting and editing took 8 months (trying to deal with side projects in order to earn some money...). Sound mixing added a few more weeks of work.

I watched this video for the first time as a child. I didn't have the easiest home life but I found immense joy in lego stop motion. This is one of the videos that have inspired me the most. I learned so many new animation tricks from your videos and I am forever grateful for this masterpiece you've produced. Thank you so much.

Ce brickfilm est tellement indémodable, je pourrais le regarder une fois par jour je ne m'en lasserais pas 😳 C'est tellement bien fait qu'on n'a même pas l'impression que c'est en 360p, on dirait de la 720p 👌🏼 Si seulement vous faisiez toujours d'aussi bons et longs brickfilms... Mais ça demande du temps tout ça... Vivement un Henri & Edmond 4!

Thank you for your comment. The sequence you mention actually is my favorite one. It was interesting to try to convey emotions with body language, voice actors and cinematography, while keeping the same smiley faces all along. I have fond memories shooting this scene, not knowing back then if it would look nice or not! :)

Un message qui fait chaud au coeur ! Ça fait bizarre de se dire que ce film a pu bercer l'enfance d'un certain nombre de personnes... ça dépasse l'intention initiale qui était juste de se faire plaisir en produisant un p'tit film Lego. I remember watching this back in 2011. It blew my mind. Watching it again now, it's still an amazing film! Your lighting is some of the best I've ever seen!

My friend and I (we both make brickfilms) both had the exact same experience that you're having. We found it in 2011 and we finished an assignment in shook early so we watched it again. Absolutely mesmerizing.

Amazing work and idea for brickfilm! I discovered this movie today, after 7 years of premiere. But who of us is a 100% not pirate :D In my country you can see notes like this: 'Dear customers, please do not listen to radio/music. It's only for employees' in restaurants or shops. Thumbs up for this movie!

My dad is French. So I showed him this. I read the subtitles of coarse and I did understand some of the French, but I was just glad that he was able to enjoy this masterpiece the most!

This is one of the best things I've seen. I considered myself a lego animator, but after watching this I think I should reconsider my life lol. Incredible, I hope I get to do some day something as awesome this. Huge job behind there, loved it.

Impressive, just IMPRESSIVE! When I first watched it, it was for five minutes, then I placed it on my Watch Later list. This night, I watched it till the end. Being French, I didn't have to watch the subtitles, so I understood every little bit. I know that Michael Hickox makes impressive animations, but this was out of this world. I already knew it was possible to make such a feat, but to see it in person was an other thing. I have never watched an animation so long and beautiful. Again, impressive... I had tears from the beginning till the end. Why you may ask? Maybe because the animation was so well made! It is an awesome job you guys did there and I think that making this must feel good for you. I have so many questions. If you want to contact me, do it VIA inbox in French or English. For Example: How many YEARS did it take to make this Brickfilm. The ones I make usually take a weekend if I am fast or 2 weeks if it's a special one but I know this took way more time. What was the F.P.S (Frames Per Second)? 16? 20? 24? Check my channel, I too make Stop Motion Brickfilms. It really is cool to make and I would appreciate Likes, Comments, Subs, Shares, Favorites, Absolutely Everything! I put a lot of work onto them and I started my channel one year ago. This is how you do a true Lego brickfilm. I can't believe I watched til now. It's such a classic and amazing film. The sets, animation, cinematography, and especially the storytelling were absolutely amazing. I love this so much!

You can always tell a brickfilm is great if you forget you're watching a brickfilm while watching it. This film is excellent because it focuses on telling a story and uses lego as a medium to tell that story, but isn't just a brickfilm for the sake of being one.

Salut salut, ce brickmovie je l'ai vue la toute première fois à mes 10 ans (tout innocent et heureux) j'avais tout de suite accroché à l'histoire j'étais vraiment à fond dedans xd et juste mtn moment ou j'écris ce commentaire j'ai 16 ans. Je me suis rappeler de cette animation qui m'avais tant fais kiffer xd, bon c’est vrai que c’est pas quelque chose de fou dis comme ça hein.. mais vrm, je viens de regarder une nouvelle fois l'animation, quand je me dis que la dernière fois que je l'ai vue je n'avais que 10 ans.. 6 ans après ça ma vrm fais une remontée de nostalgie et de joie en moi, même si je doute que mon commentaire sois lu, Merci.

Bravo, un boulot de dingue quand on sait le temps qu'il faut pour faire 2 minutes de vidéo en stop motion ça force le respect.

15 images par seconde. Soit environ 30.000 photos pour le film (hors générique), sans compter le fait que les plans sont filmés plus longs et coupés au montage, qu'il y a des prises ratées, des photos pour les tests lumière etc...
