Henk is a wel respected singer in the Netherlands. But he's a true Dutch man. No arrogance about it. When he talks he's still a regular cityboy from Amsterdam with an accent and dry humor. And that's why we love him even more. Dutch people hate arrogant artists.

During that show, Henk Poort said about the genres and value and all that: "good music is good music", no matter the style/genre.

Henk could have picked anyone of them to sing that duet with him, but he picked Emma, because he saw her potential and wanted to help coach her to the greatness he saw in her. He challenged her, pushed her, mentored her, and this happened. Quite amazing what a good teacher can mean to a young and upcoming artist :)

I always love the little bit at the end where Henk .. the grandfather figure nods at Emma while smiling. Henk is a renowned singer in the Netherlands while Emma a KZreadr that does coves. Wonderful moment.

Truly encouraging Emma

When even Floor blows her cheeks, out, you know you're witnessing something special. Singers like her and Henk coax and challenge duet partners to cone uo to their level - and Emma soared here. With mentors like them, there's potentially nothing she couldn't sing. There's definitely a big future for her in the new world emerging, if she wants it.

my favorite Beste Zangers Emma Heesters song is singing for Floor Jansen The song Floor sang with her band after Forever before nightwish "Strong" a song written by Floor because her mother was strong through being sick as was Emma's mother. It's very beautiful and emotional.

the original version is sung by Bocelli e Giorgia..... two of the best singers in Italian history ... but in my opinion this version is unbeatable

Yes... Finally! He found the "Beste Zangers rabbit hole" and is being sucked in! Just some suggestions from Beste Zanger 2019: " Nemo" by Tim Akkerman or if you want to have a meltdown "Shallow" by just Floor. She also does a duet with Tim Akkerman on the same show, but I like Floor's solo version just a little bit better :) After that, check out the rest of the artists... for instance Rolf Sanchez. And when you went through these songs you can watch "Sing" by OG3NE from a previous season of Beste Zangers.

For Emma to hold her own amongst vocal masters like Floor and Henk is truly incredible. Her voice is so beautiful, so colourful… full of light and shade. This duet is one of the best I’ve heard… ever. Henk really almost nurtured Emma through this. They complimented each other so well. Honestly, if people remove the bias of knowing that Emma mostly does covers on KZread they’ll admit she’s amazing.

First time I heard this, I cried my eyes out... Just one of those performances you regret not being able to undo hearing/seeing it the first time. For me, this was the best season of Beste Zangers and I love everything Floor did, but for me this was the song of the season.

This show is all about celebrating music. Each year different singers from different genres come together. Each weekly episode one singer sits on the couch and is sung to by the others. The singers pick a song from that artist or a song that means a lot to that singer. And in that way they are crossing their own genre...and just have fun....it’s such a beautiful concept and verry popular in the Netherlands...the concept is now sold to a lot of other countries...

Last year there was a Beste Zangers the Musicals special, where Emma Heesters did two brilliant songs. Emma has her own KZread channel with almost 4 million followers!

I love a big opera singer , sings with a KZread girl (not anymore she is haha)... That is what this show does .. no competition.. Only love for music.,. Friends are mare made.. rest is history :)

Love that song, it was the hidden gem on the show that got a bit lost because of all the Floor hype 🥰

@@beldin2987 - To me, when you use the term "hype" it means you sensationalize something just to get peoples' attention, beyond what it might deserve. My point was that Floor's performances deserved EVERY bit of attention she has received for them, they were all so AWESOME! And as Ta Z points out, without Floor and the incredible attention she deserves and has brought to the show, that 2019 season of BZ would have gone by more or less unnoticed by the masses, certainly by the US fans. I would also give a big chunk of credit to the two ladies on YT who went to the trouble to translate to english all the discussions on that show, jenniezelf and Denise Hofs. Those translation made me SO much more interested and vested in those shows and those artists (other than Floor of course, I was already a HUGE fan of hers!).

@@okiejohn3925 For me its just kinda hype when somebody who deserved to be well known already since nearly 20 years suddenly gets so much attention. So the hype had already had to happen loooong long time ago and for me she is not that special anymore since i know her since so long, and i know Nightwish even since 1998 i think. But funny is that in other cases mostly americans seem to over exaggerate. I see that so often in these "american expat in germany" video where they always tell about what has "shocked" them. Like that we take off our shoes in the house, or open the windows for fresh air and things like that. For me shocking is maybe if you sacrifice your firstborn to a dark lord or rip the heart out of a living goat for dinner .. but not so profane things 😂

I could be mistaken, but before this show, Emma was only a youtube artist. She did not perform live for TV before. She must have grown above herself over there! So inspiring.

I loved seeing Henk in this series, I remember him from the 90's. And Emma, fresh KZread talent I believe, I love her voice and her sincere modest attitude. 🌷

the whole Beste Zangers 2019 is amazing ! this is not a competicion , they repect each other by what they do, ones a year they have this programm on the Dutch TV and always with other sangers..so don't forget the other years to watch, they are also very good.

Henk Poort also did his versions of "I'm your man" and "Despacito". The other artists also did a great job, such as curly rocker Tim Akkerman doing "Nemo", "Mr. President" and "Bring him home" (in dutch) from Les Miserables.

This song is about the love for music. Knowing that, the song fits so perfectly in this show. Beste Zangers is about the love for music and the respect for each others songs. I cried watching this one ;)

I get shivers when I hear this duet and teary eyes whenever Henk is singing. I love his voice so much and he seems so lovable and like a father figure to everyone. I listened a lot to Josh Groban, but I think Henk is my favorite Baritone now. Whoever had the idea for this show hopefully got a big raise. I only know that we have to thank the Netherlands. We have the same show in Germany. And so many times it was the "Underdog" that wowed the others. At least in the first seasons there was always somebody nobody knew. And everyone appreciates the talent of the others no matter which genre their from. I love that. In 2019, when Floor did it, Jennifer Haben from Beyond the Black also was on the German version as the first metal singer and I loved what she did with the songs. So in both countries a metal singer took part that year. Sadly there are no live videos on KZread but at least live recordings. Maybe I should request one of those. Oh, and we always get an album with the songs in Germany, but only with the "winner of the evening". It's not a competition, but the person they are singing for has to say which song/cover/performance they liked the most (because it was the most entertaining, gave them the most emotions and things like that). Maybe it's the same in the Netherlands? Yup, found it on Amazon, but this song is not on it. Why? 😞

I love the look they give each other at the end: Henk as the proud grandfather and Emma looking at him as if she was asking 'how did I do?'. I’ve experienced these two performing ‘vivo per lei’ in real life. You can just feel something magical happening when these two sing together. This is one of my favorite duets on that show, not just that season, all seasons.. such a great song and performance. You asked if there is an album with these songs, well no not exactly but.. you can download most (if not all) of the songs on Itunes and/or Spotify as far as i know the songs are still available. This show is amazing, so much talent in one room, sharing the love of music with each other, and how better to do that than to perform for each other! What still makes me smile is when reactors dive into Beste Zangers because of Floor, then discover Henk and through Henk discover Emma and so on. You wouldnt be the first who feels the need to check out the other performances as well hehehe I'll give one suggestion that will surprise you a great deal i think, but that you will love as well : Henk Poort - Despacito Henk gave it some extra Cuban sauce and its great. in this show seven singers from different genres sing to each other. every week one singer is 'on the couch' and the other singers sing to them their own songs or songs that mean a lot to them. they either make the song their own in their genre or change into the genre of the singer on the couch, the last episode duets are performed. the show is filmed on Ibiza.

What I find so amazing is their delivery has to be in their second or third language! And I love the little box analogy, totally agree with that.

I dont think you picked up on it but when they finished both of them, in their embrace said dank je wel. Which is Dutch for thank you. I thought that was just as beautifull as the song itself. Also i watch a lot of reaction videos from vocal coaches to learn more about music, but i watch your reaction because you experience the music in such a natural way. Thank you for that.

The show started in the Netherlands in 2009. OG3NE (3 dutch sisters) where on the show Beste Zangers (best singers) in 2016..I saw that you listend to OG3NE..

This show is very popular nd as far as i know there is also a Dutch and Belgian version, mabe in the future also in the US that would be nice.

The title of this track says it all "Vivo Per Lei (La Musica)". It's the Italian way of saying "I Live For The Music". This has to be one of the best renditions of this song ever done, and yes I dare to say it. For me it even outshines Andrea Bocelli's original version.
