Yea this is same reagent ..... Xylene I and xylene ll isliye use krte h ....taki jo v wax bach gya ho xylene ll m deep krne se remove ho jaye

Yes they are the same reagent, xylene 1 is use wax and xylene 2 remove excess wax ( I think)

Ammonium hydroxide can be used, but its a severe eye irritant chemical, corrosive too, hence Lithium carbonate is used.

1% Acid Alcohol Solution (for differentiation) Hydrochloric acid --------------- 1 ml 70% ethanol --------------------- 100 ml Mix well. this combination available readily in the market. Glacial acetic acid can also be used. but its a weeker one.
