Your BRASS information is important knowledge!
You have really come a long way in a couple years. Amazing.
You would have been a great school teacher. You’re a great adult teacher. Always the entertainer and explanations are clear and concise. It’s the little things you’re teaching us that will help us make our builds successful. I’ll try to make you proud George. Cheers from Canader eh!
respect for Brazil from a guy who dreams of assembling a van with his methods and I hope one day to be able to pay a visit and absorb a little more

It's always a joy to watch your videos George and I've seen them all, yup every singe one! If I ever manage a van build it will be done the Humble Road way with a good dose of John The Handyman too. Keep the videos coming and keep well.
So many say, “you’ve come a long way..”, etc.. It seems to me, this journey has been by design, in & of itself. Your plan of capturing your progress, as you built your already-decided Class B wonderworld, clearly has worked along a best-case scenario trajectory.. Congratulations! And, thank you for sharing,
Plexi on the back is such a smart innovation - x-ray vision on your components.
Happy Easter, George! I hope that you are still building vans when I am ready to take the leap. Now that I have seen the best, I just don't think that others could compare.
Thank you George - your ATD (Attention To Detail) syndrome keeps me inspired and satiates the appetite for more George.

Love the over head view of everyone bopping around the shop. Makes me smile every time. Oh yeah I have a question about the potable water tank. What is used to clean the inside? The biggest problem with water in the state where I live is mineral deposits.

Can I suggest changing the solenoid grey tank drain to ball valve…. I had the solenoid valve for the grey tank and it kept getting blocked or not closing properly so I changed it to ball valve and it’s been perfect ever since.

George, can you share your plans for the Ford Transit “black blobs”? In the event of an accident I want the side airbag curtain to function properly yet I don’t want to lose that space and see that ugly black blob. I haven’t figured out a safe solution. Thank you for sharing the tips on how to access items behind and underneath cabinets/drawers. Lexan is a great solution. Tips are 🔥!

Happy Easter to all!!
I installed a solenoid valve on my gray tank. At first it worked fine, but with dish detergent and soap it gunked up and began leaking. Hopefully that doesn’t happen to your’s, I replaced mine with a motor actuated valve and it has been trouble free.
Love the lift beds and garage, and the long kitchen area counters. How do I get in touch for a Ford Transit van build?

Thanks for all your great videos and sharing of your knowledge. I had a question about the valves that you said not to use because they had lead in them. If you are using them for the grey water which you can just vent out to the outside ground isn't this an environmental concern?
@HumbleRoad
2 жыл бұрын
Maybe long term, I'm not qualified to say. Just about every underground pipe in America has some amount of lead in it. My warning is to avoid ingestion of lead on a regular basis.
I heard you say 3000 watt inverter. In case you’re unaware, (as I was) the victron multiplus is listed as 3000va or volt amps which is equal to 2400 watts not 3000 watts. I thought I had a 3000 watt inverter until I read the specs on it. Still great equipment but kinda confusing when everyone is used to watts not volt amps. Love watching your videos by the way, You’ve been an inspiration in my own build. Do you allow visits to the shop? I’ll be up in NJ in June to visit family. Keep up the great work.
@HumbleRoad
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, Mike, I actually mentioned that the sustained capacity was not 3000 watts, unlike the Xantrex 3012. I do feel, however, that the other benefits of the Victron as compared to the Xantrex outweigh the lesser capacity.
I cannot imagine buying an expensive “RV” over a van. It’s the house made of straw vs. bricks. One RV lady I watch has had nothing but problems even though she’s purchased new ones.

Just a polite note. You really need to stop using those breakers/trip switches if they are from China. The Chinese breakers don't work. Some of them don't trip at all and others can pass as much as 5-10 times their rated amps before they trip out. I've changed everything over to Mega fuses for high amp circuits.
@HumbleRoad

Blue Sea is a highly respected supplier in the yachting world. The breakers I use are no higher than 60A. For high amperage (300-400) I use ANL

Remember me, “stupid little sinks; big ones good, no splash.” As someone always trying to improve on ideas, fyi I’m not even a van owner but just love watching YOUR builds, I had a thought/concern. For the showers that are converted from living areas, I’d be worried about cleanliness and soap scum buildup over time being always exposed. When new, obviously it looks good aesthetically. Have you had any issues regarding this?
@HumbleRoad
2 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. In Sam's van, I made sure that the curtain could be easily removed for washing. Ditto the shower mat and stainless steel pan. Access for air flow and wipe-ability is key.

What is the price of the Mini-me # 2 ?
@HumbleRoad
2 жыл бұрын
Mini-Me #2 is built on my personal 2019 Promaster City. I drove it as my daily driver for 3 years for a total of 48,000 miles. I serviced it regularly. I needed to be sure this platform was acceptable for my project. It is. It will be sold completely built out for $60,000 with new tires and fresh fluid service.
Do you create any vans without them being presold?
@HumbleRoad

All the large builds are commissioned. The MiniMe micro campers are semi- spec built. Meaning once I begin a build some one steps up to reserve it.
