    Number 3 with the blunted tip. Not just for safety concerns about pointed steel in the wall but I think over time it might wear a hole or at least mark anything you hang on it

    Use a washer on the finger one at the base. Won't chew up the wood when you turn it to tighten flush

    Weld a ring at the end of the screw against the square to aquish the wood just enough to not mark the wood with the square edge on your last 1/4 turn..might work??

    Probably number 2 , people mention that it could rip stuff or damage things but I don’t imagine it’s sharp enough or going to be placed where it could cause damage to things or get run into

    #2 as you can fit a wider range of stuff on that hook with the pointed end than on a hook with a squared end.

    Number 1 just pre drive a threaded stud and use a set screw on the hanger. No clocking no damage

    I’d stay with the screw in finger, just cut a sticky back felt pad down to size then thread it on and send it. No mar and it looks awesome!!

    The hook currently on the wall is best. Ooh! I can just see some open kitchen iron dish rack system in the future. You will need to make plenty of those hooks, Kitchen, Bath, near the entry door, clothes washing area, portch, etc... Cody I have to assume the cabin is for your son.

    put a washer just smaller then the dimensions of #1 on the screw then screw it in should be able to tighten it without marring

    A slight bevel on the wall side of the finger. Next to the threads. No mar and you could clock it.

    Take number 1, chop off the embedded screw, mill a hole down the center or use a lathe, then counterbore it for your wood screw, add an 82 degree counter sink now you can clock it, seat that screw flush and make it look great

    hey! you can still use the first one! start with round bar. you can square up the rest of your hook and just leave the base round. then, even if it does slightly mar the wood, you will never see it.

    Flat one would be a safer bet. The more pointed an object is, the better chance it has of piercing anything that could fall on it. And if that happened to be someone’s head as they were tripping, well I’d prefer the flat tipped one for a better chance of just a sore head than a punctured head.

    Number 1 may cause fabric to wear or tear over time possibly. Probably the only con I can think of as long as the wider one has smoother edges but both are awesome

    I personally like #1 but like @andrewmason7389 said in his reply it’s too sharp, it looks the dogs doodahs but it will leave your coat/jacket looking like you got a large boil on your back. So it’s gotta be #2.

    for the straight one, you can use a female threaded insert on the hardware like a cabinet pull. mount a few to a small board in arrangement and then mount the board.
