That’s a lot of work, especially when you have to push the weight on those plants,it’s very hard on the arms. Your doing a great job❤

Fantastic effort for a temporary solution. You just solved your problem but shoved it further down stream to clog up that bridge waterway. Get the plant material out of the canal. Can’t it be used in a compost pile somewhere?

You don’t get answers, just snarky comments. They have the same problem with the similar vegetation in Brazil at a couple of dams. They also send it downstream by volunteer hands and machinery….Must be the climate….

Could they be scooped up with a big net and taken out of the water ?

Medicinal Functions. Water hyacinth is reported to have anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antibacterial functions [86]. Furthermore, it can be used as a hair fragrance, to treat cholera, sore throat, and snake bites.

Snakes could be hiding in the water hyacinths. It could be dangerous.

Why don’t the government just get a bulldozer and get rid of the dirt on the bottom that produces theses plants in the first place 😮

If they kept the waterways clean in the first place, he wouldn't have to do it and he wouldn't need to stay safe. Another case of send it downstream to be someone else's problem. Out of sight, ont of mind. Not in my backyard.

Or perhaps there was a big storm the day before, and perhaps he knows there's nothing that can be clogged downstream. Plus these are plants, so nobody's gonna take them out as if they were trash.

@@silviac221 you obviously don't know anything about water hyacinths. They are notorious for a single plant lodging on the side of a bank and just spreading uncontrollably. To the point that they cannot be removed without an excavator or where the river is too wide, with a boat with dredging equipment to remove them. You need to do your homework.

@@ednamathews669 No, I don't know much about water hyacinths but I don't feel ashamed for that. I said what I said because I was trying to see if you noticed that your comment is quite rude (this one is, too), it sounds like discrimination and makes you look like a Karen. Please calm down. Goodbye.

Is it not suppose to be the highway engineering department to monitor or it’s responsible to clean BRIDGES, FREEWAYS , DAM WATERGATE, thanks a lot to our concern citizen doing a volunteer job with those 3 young guys. some people getting good pay just sitting with big ( BELLY )hopefully I’m wrong, excuse me mean no harm 😮just my honest opinion 🤓🤨🤯🤯🤯🤯

Their engineering department obviously doesn't give a damn about the waterways in that country. They would rather let it get so bad that the water sources will dry up, then they will wonder why a lot of places aren't getting the water supply that they need.

Why not take the plants out of the river and let them dry and them burn them because farther down the river it's gonna clog another briges or a river bank ????from WACO TEXAS

If you've seen Life After People, it will definitely cause problems, especially without people to clear the waterways clear of it..
