That was a very enjoyable battle to watch, for a map that is quite renowned as a bit of slogfest. Adding those extra areas to the map, and the play from the experienced players. Gave this battle a lot of dynamic. Well done to both sides, and also the commentary.

This is now truely a defenders map. So many fall back points with places defenders can post up and get flankingn ahots

I love the new version of helms deep. Gives a lot of new paths that the players can utilize both on the attack/defense. Hopefully we see re-edits of maps like this on Minias Tirith.. or other iconic maps. Very entertaining

I think the focus is on making all new ones for the moment but we'll see in the future

map looks great. especially love the paths and elevation inside of the fortress. it also means that we finally get to see Rohan again, the least loved faction. spoilers great battle, and its very refreshing to see Rohan successfully defend Helms deep for once, which must be in part because of the great layout. i was worried about there being too many entrances, but the inner keep definitely makes up for it. Makes me sad that standard medieval 2 siege battles dont have keep battles. but im glad to see that Helms deep is finally a walnut of a fortress for once, rather than a long slog and massacre that favors the attackers.

In my opinion the rohirrim armor and aethstetic in unrivaled i absolutely love it idk y

Imo these armies and on this new helms deep map. Seems like its even easier for the defenders. More room to maneuver and honestly id love to be a defender on this version. During the army comp phase i figured out some good strategies to defend and id love it

Great battle! went back and forth. I really like this new map and the options it gives both defenders and attackers.

I like when I lose when my general is the last one to go, putting an end to the battle, like here, with those pikes that did not rout, and the general dying back to a wall, falling at last when he is the last of the 5 armies :p

Nice to see Helms Deep again.

This is my favorite map and the new cave part makes it a lot better

Nice map and a good battle. I was rooting for the defenders and it's great that they won. I don't understand why didn't the Isengard players bring a ballista? Maybe it was a balance thing but it would have been cool to see one in the battle.

Honestly with all those units sitting outside the walls here, using the buck shot elf arrows that miss high all the time on the trolls Might have worked. The real shot may hit them and the spread which goes high goes into the ranks waiting outside.

This map seems a lot easier to defend than the traditional one. If mediocre Rohan could wipe the floor with 4 Isengard attackers, a couple of Dwarven armies on the defense would be impenetrable.

One of my biggest issues with reforged as a whole is that every army seems to be too well rounded. I see it badly with Rohan. IMO they should have mediocre infantry to put the emphasis on their amazing cavalry. Instead I’d would be suprised to not see an infantry heavy Rohan army. While they might not have exemplary infantry they have enough so that they don’t have to look for higher wquality in their cavalry. It’s a moot point as I won’t cause any change but I like to express the slight dissatisfaction I find in some aspects of reforged.

I mean the upper tier line infantry for rohan get trounced by most others. So they are pretty mediocre.

Not sure where you are getting specifically Rohans infantry from, considering its low tier is extremely mediocre and normal infantry is in a normal fight not worth bringing and very poor cost efficiency wise. There are few factions I would put my money on rohan coming ontop against without their javelins and high risk cav.

@@championsgaming1 Any human sword and shield units in current reforged are underpowered, its one of the things that will be fixed in the next update

non-elite cav just dosent work well in the current meta, its the main thing I hope changes in the next patch

I hate hearing “these single last stands typically don’t work” in these battle replays. That’s why battles get stale if everyone is suppose to be fought the same way. Commentate on what’s actually happening in the battle. Not how it should be done.
