The only people that complain about the mosin and the hunter are the same people that run round in 4 man squads with t5 armour. You hate it because better players with less gear actually have a chance at killing you with your sweaty 400k load out whilst you're running around trying to mop up anyone less geared.

yeah every time, which also makes penis helmet far from the best helmet in the game. It increases your face hitbox with its curved upper lip.

@@michaelvincent6473 armours don't actually have hitboxes based on their in-game model. they just protect certain player hitboxes. the penis helmet protects exactly the same as the acchc or whatever that bike helmet looking thing is. just like when you wear armour, your side is just as protected as your front. the entire hitbox is protected

@@michaelvincent6473 they don't use complex model collision based on models (yet?) They have little hit boxes that follow the bones of the character. Your head is 5 hitboxes, nape(back) top(forehead-top) ears(temple) eyes(face/center/nose/cheeks/brow) and jaw(guess lol). All of these share the same damage pool called "head" which is 35. TBH getting shot through the nose frm the side and dying is kinda bull so I hope they do smn about that when they revamp the armor/medical.

@@pickleparty247 The balance is super front heavy on the full rifle, a large amount of the weight is on your front hand which makes it feel much heavier than those other rifles when ADS standing, not sure about the infantry variant though.

Same for me back in last wipe when i was fairly new playeed ratty for a few weeks made tons of cash and waited for wipe then played like a chad this wipe and ive got over 2000+ pmc kills i feeels so good you can be the best head clicked or ads player ever but lose against someone whos more knowledgeable so learn maps and peaks and youll get super good in no time

A big part of this is positioning. It's the most important skill in almost all PvP games (Shooters, games like World of Tanks and even RTS) It's hard to improve, it takes a lot of focus and time. Next time you're watching someone play pay most of your attention to where they move and how they go from A to B; question why they do things and why you should move into a position in one way, but not another.

The way gear progression works from the vendor standpoint just needs adjustment. Can't buy a 133 plastic grip for gunsmith pt 1 until Jaeger level 3. There's a lot of examples of simple items being gated unnecessarily.

Not to mention gun parts being sold by 3 different traders in different levels of trader. Wanna make a decent sks or ak without flea? gotta have 3 different traders level 3 and 4. Can't we just go to a simpler system where they each specialize in caliber or type like peacekeeper and therapist, so if we know what we like we can make better variants faster.

@@fossil6845 The Chance to survive a 5.56 is pretty decent with modern military body armour and on the field medical treatment. At least right now blood transfusions and medical supplies are applicable even in an ongoing firefight (in cover ofc), stuff gets deadly fast without treatment or if there are no blood transfusions (you lose LOTS of blood when hit) and medical supplies ( Bandages,Painkillers,Coagulation Solution/Powder etc) (NOT INGAME OFC you can just heal that shit in a minute)

Yeah, but in real life, armour piercing 5.56 and 7.62x54r don't go through most of the plates that are currently in the game. If they hit you in other parts of your vest or chest rig then they would yeet you but currently EFT treats armour as if the whole thing is encased in AR500. I think most of the TTK issues in the game will be solved when armour hitboxes are implemented because a) they can finally boost armour strength to realistic levels and b) chads won't be encased in bullet proof armour like fuckin iron man.

Any bullet hitting a hard armour plate that doesn't penetrate or deform the plate (in other words: all but the very strongest of rounds like M995 or 7.62x54r API) will not feel like any worse than a love pat. The most dangerous thing about those kinds of hits is spalling from the round shattering on the plate hitting you under the chin and arms.

For anyone wondering what commenters and pest mean when saying "How the game was 2 years ago" Fort armor+kiver helmet was an all encompassing monster armor that stopped almost everything. No face hitbox at all, so the helmet completely protected the head. Golden age of chads running around annihlating anyone less geared with no risk of death. Sounds great, right?

Its an ultrarealistic shooter where you are supposed to fear death. Would you leeroy in alone (to predetermined loot spawns no less) in reality? The chads of this game make arguements for and against realism depending on if it benefits them. Now we have tagged and curse for pistol users, total realism

Well tagged and cursed was put in mainly because there was a serious problem with pistol runners. Realistic or not, it was a problem the BSG thought needed to be fixed. Sure it "hurt" rats but that also made the game more enjoyable in my opinion and helps me personally if I need scav kills for a quest cause I can just pistol in and be tagged and cursed and get scav kills.

Lol anyone that says mosin is best post wipe is stupid. Mosin is an anti-armor gun. its the great equalizer. It doesnt matter how juiced you are a mosin will still kill you. Thats its strength. So why the fuck would you use it when nobody has armor? A bolt action is literally the slowest way to damage in this game, even a vepr 209 is more efficient att dealing damage to people (assuming little/no armor is used since its earlygame). Mosin is great pre-wipe. When everyone is a jacked up chad.

Nothing like aiming at someone standing in from of you putting it right on them and just nothing. (based on the server I connect to, I seem to expereince desync and bullets not registering more then the average player. Its the reason that I stopped playing this wipe.)

It's the most cost efficient (read: too strong for what it costs) and is used all throughout wipe. That's why people are miffed about it.

Super chads don't need to be any more impossible to kill for low levels. I understand that once you get to those high levels, armor is melted often by other high levels. Late in wipe that may suck for high armors, but any changes to make armor even more powerful are going to be a nerf 10x for people who cant access those rounds yet.

More likely ww2 mosins, as the ones in the game are not the dragoon. The infantry mosin looks like an m44 mosin and the sniper variant is just a 91/30 sniper variant with a cut in the stock for the pu scope mount. The dragoon was an even bigger beast.

Even if I do like the game at the same time I don't? You guys have that feeling? I feel the Devs listen too much to the streamers, I get it, they bring new people everyday to the game, they basically sometimes have really interesting ideas and opinions about how the game could be better, but I feel that this isn't a Dev game, but more like a streamer game... It's like, if they don't like something they just go on the podcast and share their views on the game, what they like and what they don't and I feel some things in the game changes because that X streamer or that Y Streamer didn't liked or think that mechanic or that way of playing the game hurts the community in a way, and for that, it kinda ruins the fun of the game to a amount of people? Please, don't come saying the game is still in Beta, we all know how that ends and how that goes. I do like the game, in my perspective EFT is the best Tactical Survival FPS in the market, at least best than the other games out there, but its too many changes all the time, I feel like the game doesn't know what it wants it to be, the game doesn't need to be fair, being a hardcore FPS is nice and all but it's missing something that all the other games have. And btw, people still complaining about a fucking Mosin.

i hate pretty much anyone with your opinion. Even if they are listening to streamers a lot tell me how is that a bad thing? They are play testing the game more then literally anyone else including the devs. They have the most knowledge about what is good and bad and why, They have seen more bugs and glitches then anyone else and so on and so forth. All i know for my many years of playing videos games is when you leave game development entirely up to devs the game flops and fail most the time. Devs always seem to be very disconnected from what the player base actually wants, just go look at world of Warcraft right now. Blizzard is starting to actually listen to streamers complaint because they are just now realizing that what they thought were good ideas for the game have actually only made the game worst and the streamers have the actual best idea for their game because what do you know they play more then anyone else and are more in touch with the community they even the community managers they hire to be in touch with said community. If YOU aren't having fun with tarkov then just go. If YOU think tarkov if failing or making the wrong moves then just go. So tired of hearing people say this game is dying because they keep making it harder or shit like that. Just leave already, no one actually gives a fuck about if you're playing or not. The reason why is because the game is not doing anywhere near as bad as you perceive and the numbers prove it. So keep living your fallacy and i will keep enjoying the reality of the situation.

Imagine if me and my streamer buddies started playing csgo and after 10k hours were like, " recoil patters are fucking stupid, it should just be randomized" that dumb ass idea would ruin the game and you think it should be warranted because I've made my career out of this vs other people just trying to play a fun hardcore tactical shooter. The game is getting convoluted and only hurting the casual player base because they can't figure out a solution for the hacker problem. This game is getting shittier because the devs don't have a vision for their own product anymore. I'd say they were letting the beta testers decide the fate, but it really is just the streamers and hackers who dictate the direction of the game at this point. the rest are just along for the ride.

@@Blastgun1 I think its the fact hes not wasting money on armor. 90% of the time, whoever sees the enemy first is gonna win, spending 50k on armor to maybe have an advantage 10% of the time is ridiculous. You don't know how many times ive 1 tapped guys in class 4 while wearing nothing, took their armor and sold it for a profit. no point in wearing that shit. Its a noob trap.

Probably because no armor forces you to rethink how you engage your fights and you're more cautious to smaller things that you don't pay attention to any more when wearing armor. Like positioning, flanking, height difference, taking cover or just going for concealment, bouncing nades off walls, being very mobile, etc Just look around, in nearly all vids/streams, you see people just face-tanking shots, running straight forward to their enemy or strafing only a few steps. Once you're without armor, you won't be doing that. Unless you're doing a hihi-haha run

@@Blastgun1Skill increases incrementally. He has, id assume, the same level of skill he had at the end of last wipe. What changed was his wallet and access to high level armors. of course skill will increase, that's a give in, but that simply isnt one of the variables at play considering a wipe happens overnight. i dont think his skill substantially changed int hat time, but i dont know maybe you know the guy personally.

Yeah, the more I play the more I start to feel that armor serves a really specific purpose in that it protects you from scavs, player scavs and budget PMC's who don't go balls deep on ammo. So, sure, it's useful like that but the most dangerous thing on a map is a competent geared player. You could and probably should be able to handle the aforementioned things without any armor on. It feels like unless you're running 5-6 even right now in the wipe, you won't actually really be protected from anything that you would want to be protected from. It's a big gamble, a buddy of mine brought the Zabralo tank armor on to woods with an Altyn. We were about 300 meters down the road from UN roadblock heading towards the two loot containers by that rock formation next to the edge of the map on the lake shoreline that people occasionally snipe from. I had class 4 head and body protection with a class 3 face-shield, out of the corner of my eye I see a PMC running along the interior towards the same direction we were headed in. I stopped and lined up a shot, in a second or so he had already laser beamed my face from at least 100 meters. My friend however, my friend was just too armored for them to really hurt him. His armor allowed him to out-position them with a large margin of error. They were not heavily geared but there were 5 of them and the most they had was a mosin running LPS. He wiped them all out and killed a few PMC's after them too and the only reason he was able to survive long enough to take them out is because he had the strongest armor in the game on. He got peppered by them but they didn't bring the right guns to kill him so they were forced in to having to hit him 60 times or something crazy. They could not accomplish that and he won because he took the risk and bought the heavy armor. If you use 3-4 you're betting on players either being incompetent or a cheapskate. If someone is using something that goes through 3 like butter chances are, it also probably goes through 4 like butter too. The only problem with not using armor is being 2-3 tapped by a pistol or 1 tapped by buckshot. Once you take the armor off and go armor-less you're now opening yourself up to be 1 tapped by just about everything. Using armor is like gambling and hoping that you run into the perfect situation your armor was designed for.

The point is though that if your playing the rat playstyle as is the meta currently then you don't have to wear anything, just ambush unsuspecting players from the dark with very low risk, just boring as hell camping half the raid and taking baby steps to avoid detection. Found in raid change definitely screwed over the chad playstyle.

I disagree with the armor point. I usually run level 4 armor, and its saved my ass countless times. Sure, its not AS useful as level 5+... but to say its useless a reach. Helmets however, are useless unless its level 5+ or with faceshield. I haven't been running helmets for several wipes. For the amount of times it saves you, you generally could just buy a kit or 2 for the roubles you've spent on them.

I'm pretty confident Level 4 tanks one round of Mosin LPS while reducing thorax down to single digit. It's the difference between chest one tap and not chest one tap by the most common Mosinling ammo. This video confuses me because level 4 has saved me so many times where level 3 would have killed me dead.

@@ItsBlunty that's not how it works anymore, after it pens, the damage that remains in the bullet is reduced, hence single digit health on thorax, but 7N1 should kill in one regardless.

they should add ammo that has a chance to go through and through, like opposite of fragmentation. It just goes through ur body doing less damage and maybe putting a bleed or smth but if someone runs with the highest pen ammo, they will be even less effective against flesh and lower tier armor. Don't know exactly how it works in real life but wouldn't this be more realistic aswell?

Actually yes, if the bullet goes through that's a good thing, it means when you get fixed up there isn't lead poisoning you or fragments tearing your organs up. That's an irl decision when buying irl armor, if your shit breaks and that bullet can't exit the back of your best guess what, it's inside of you releasing lead into your body, the more you move, the more that now warped projectile inside you will tear your organs. You actually have a good point they should implement

I’ve only ever ran with armor I’ve found off scavs and players, which most of the time are press vests, kirasas and penis helmets. No one ever picks them up, so I usually get them back in insurance and they offer decent scav protection. I agree that wearing helmets and armor do virtually nothing for you (just about every helmet I’ve gotten back in insurance never had a dent in them), but I don’t feel secure if I don’t at least have level 3 armor on lmao.

I shot a dude on factory like 7 times in the head with a pistol while he was looting the green box, lol. I had to go for my pistol kills and there he was, it was funny though because I expected him to drop the first 2-3 shots and after that he just did a 180 and started booking it I was just lucky the other 4 shots landed while he was moving lol.

This is what I've always done too, and I swear they significantly improved the armor that drops from scavs this wipe. It used to be all pacas and that shitty level 2 camo armor. Kirasas were a big win last wipe. This time around I've been able to keep a pretty steady supply of 6B armor going, which I swear I only ever saw on on scav bodyguards last wipe. I agree the level 4 armor is pointless to buy, but if you can get it for free from a scav, it's pretty decent. Has definitely saved me from a fair few players spraying PS rounds everywhere.

Making the mosin more expensive isn't solving anything because its not the gun thats the problem. Its so big anyways so nobody picks it up and you get it back from insurance. Buy it once and you can use that mosin for multiple raids.

I understand the mosin being strong, it's a sniper, but... Me and my friend went in to a raid, fort armour and all, and both got 1 tapped in the thorax. To my understanding, that shouldn't happen, the only way I see that happening is fragmentation, but there's no way he rolled the "crit dice" twice like that. To confuse things further, the guy was using 7BT1 ammo... which only does 78 damage, to a 80hp thorax.

You can not make Mosin bad because it would not make any sense. 7,62x54r is really strong IRL and so it should be in Tarkov. I think the solution is introducing old WW2 ammo which would be like dmg 75 pen 30 +- and make other ammo more expensive and scarce. The problem, in my opinion, is that LPS ammo is too accessible and SNBs are so common in boxes in Reserve. Also I would make the gun scav-only weapon which could not be bought. The gun HAS its own place in the game. If you cry now because of Mosin imagine SVT-40 which is basically automatic mosin from ww2.

But it's agreed upon on the community that we don't want a leveled playing field, so I think the lower end, lower level players need some chance to kill players in badass gear.. no one ever looks at it from the no geared low levels perspective.. Take mosin out the game for low levels, and get matched with a guy lvl 6 gear.. guess they will use their trusty Vepr KM or SKS with PS bullets to have a 0% chance to kill them even if they had the jump on them and every in game advantage you could have. Atleast the high level players have a good chance to kill mosin people, by playing smarter, safer. Low lever players without any good weapons have almost no chance to kill a fully geared high level. It seems like everyone who plays this game a lot forgets the initial struggle lmao..

Idk what's going on but I seem to get face tapped VERY frequently now. If I die, it's because I got face-tapped probably 75% of the time.

The almost insurmountable gear gap has been greatly reduced . If you can aim you can kill now. The uphill battle before was immense if you didn’t have the time to grind. Similar to real life now. Life is fragile. You can’t run around face-tanking unrealistic amounts of bullets just because you have hundreds of hours into “Season”.

You say that, but I still can't kill people. My mag runs dry and they one tap me with whatever they have. I started keeping notes of all my runs. They either end with "no shots fired" or "one shot".

I like his idea, I use mosin all the time for buget, one hitting anyone not wearing tier 5 armor or up is so good. Plus the shots will wreck your high tier armor as well. I don't see the problem with increasing ammo price for it since it is single shot. You only need like 30 rounds to be effective anyway. When you compare it to the price of ammo to be effective with a machine gun it's crazy. Especial since the machine guns will need significantly more ammo.

@@DurkDiggler Yep, but it's totally different. EFT indisputably has much more intense weapon... reactions? deficiencies? eccentricities? (Don't know the right word, but yeah.) On the "bad" guns at level 1, you can't go bunnyhopping around and hipfiring with the expectation of hitting basically anything. With elited skills and a meta Vector, you can.

Class 4 armor has saved my life this wipe a lot

One thing i havent understood is why the VPO which shoots arguably one of the worst rounds in the game is locked behind Yager but the mosin is buyable from prapor right off the bat. They need to switch them. Granted this wouldnt solve the issue but it would delay some things slightly. The other thing for me is just simply they need to make sniper rounds harder to get, M80 and LPS is very cheap and easily obtainable early, which makes no sense to be because they added in "bad" ammo for M80 but nothing similar for LPS

The only reason I can think of is because of the themes/backgrounds of the traders - Prapor sells military surplus, Jaeger sells hunting weapons. The Mosin was first and foremost a main infantry rifle for its time, while the VPO-209 is a loophole rifle/shotgun that is iirc mostly useful for hunting. The VPO-136 is geared towards civilian/sport shooting, so it ends up with Skier. But it definitely makes more sense to have less effective equipment to be available earlier, "consistency" be damned.

blindhawk Mosin could just be locked behind lv2 prapor or lv3, it’s basically a high tier gun that’s cheap to use and fuel. Replace it with the PPSh at lv1 since the PPSh isn’t going to have such dramatic power climb.

@Aero Imagine being stupid enough to not understand that new players exist or that some people aren't living in moms basement like yourself to play a single game far longer than they should.

I like the idea Pestily puts forward about difficulty of aiming but I also wonder if the realism elements in the game encourage a play mode that has larger and fewer teams with fewer and more important objectives. Loot will always be a factor but if there was a greater incentive to avoid play more defensively and use tactics like covering fire. Maybe that incentive could be reflected in significant temporary bonuses to hideout or vendor stock.

i was thinking that too, maybe a revamped system of teamplay and faction based fighting would be more appropriate where you can team up with other faction members and deploy to fight in a map like how the BSG Raid series is portrayed. I enjoy having a hideout and having my own personal resource farm but it would be nice to have a larger scale battle as opposed to these rat like survival fights. im not sure if the direction of the game is to either escape from tarkov as a solo player building wealth and gear or to fight for your faction. wonder where it will go.

@@Eggsecuter When the game was initially released, it was touting that the end goal was a more open world style of play. Less loading into raids and more moving through areas, offloading loot to your hideout, and continuing on. That being said, game's been in development for awhile. We'll just have to wait and see which way it moves.

Covering fire could never realistically be used as a strategy in a video game because it doesn’t provide the fear factor that it does IRL. If you’re being suppressed IRL you aren’t gonna peak that shit because you don’t want to die, but in a video game you’d be more willing to peek in the same situation because it would be surprising to your enemy and you aren’t afraid of dying.

I’ve found the wearing class 4 armor, especially high durability armor like the trooper, significantly increases the chances of you surviving a round of M80 or LPS to the chest. As for the helmets, I just run the ULACH because it looks operator as fuck

I just run my Captain Price loadout all the time. TacTec, Boonie Hat, Mustache (obviously), and 7.62 MDR. God loadout for me tbh.

Solo I'd play slow unless I get into a fight once engaged you need to move around alot between covers or else you get 1 tapped

This is kinda why I liked being able to wear armor and an armored rig. I’m not sure if it actually helped as much as I thought but it made me feel more confident to take shots.

I think this is just how you get when you've gotten decimated by mosins like 30 raids in a row.

@morgan No its great for the game, getting killed by a mosin feels alot better than being sprayed by a meta gun, atleast I know he needs to have good aim and a cool head not just hold down mouse1 in my general direction. You are still playing a skillbased shooter, not just a gear/grind based mmo, gear advantage is already big enough in Tarkov, new players dont exist for your amusement, them being able to sometimes kill you is good.

I was literally about to say he must of had some bad raids before this video because I take a lvl 4 uley rig in at woods everytime when i shturman farm and that rid has saved me so many times. A mosin will not 1 shot your thorax with a lvl 4 rig on. The only thing that pissed me off is when i got all lvl 4 gear and some dude head eyes me with 5.45 PS ammo that shit has happened so much drives me nuts

Because just the tiny chance of you winning against that guy with the meta gun is worth it more since you feel like it was either a more fair fight, or that the outcome would have been worth it if you had won. If you enter combat against a nearly naked dude with a mosin who risks nothing, and you win with mostly blacked limbs the raid while you had risked a good amount of gear your raid is ruined, the value for killing that mosling is 20k, a.k.a. nothing compared to your stuff worth over 200k (average value of average gear), just the cost of healing yourself up is worth more than everything he brought with him. Instead the value of killing someone with actual gear could be worth it if you end up extracting even if you had nearly died.

High end armour and ammunition are both to easy to get. In a place like Tarkov they should be really rare that you will have think when to use them and not load them every raid

hate to break it to you, but body armor is common as hell nowadays, you can get 2 class 4 NIJ plates(basically class 6 in tarkov) for like 700 bucks, each capable of stopping up to 3 AP rounds from long barrels. high end ammo however is WAY too common. compare m995 in tarkov to real life. if i just wanted to buy the BULLET(not the casing with all the powder, primer etc.) it would cost me about 40 dollars for just the projectile. its WAY too easy to get rounds that are exclusively used in coaxial machine guns on tanks(im looking at you m61) the best 5.56 ammo should be 855a1 and the best .308 should be like m62 at best. igolnik shouldnt even exist in the game, as its not even a round that is used by standard infantry(its pretty much a prototype bullet that hasnt even been produced yet. most common rounds are 5.45 PS or BP/BT

I think a gun resting/mounting mechanic would be a great addition to the game imo. I really like the way arma 3 does it where you get the resting effect when your gun/arms are in near proximity to a hard surface like a wall or the ground for example and you still have the second option to deploy a bipod if you have it or directly rest your weapon on the surface for even more recoil reduction.

I have been using two types guns this wipe the Mosin and whatever the thicc boy I shot had on them

This wipe I hardly saw any moslings at all. Usually it is a val/vss meta guy. And in this case you don’t need armour at all. BSG should make top tier ammo/weapons only found in raid, similar to mortar shells.Gopnik like Prapor won’t be able to sell vss or vals like it is a regular ak. After all it is a special forces gun produced in limited quantity. It would make much more sense if you could find these op ammo and weapons only in special places, like boss caches, etc.

Regarding weapons, I think Pestily is right with the idea that shooting from a standing or crouched position right now is still, frankly, much too accurate. I also think that the automatic compensation for recoil is a bad idea, and it's always been a bad idea.Any other FPS game (to my knowledge) does not have a feature like this, and it makes it so weapons such as the M4A1 are laser beams after the initial recoil kick. The current meta of strafing back and forth while hip firing or ADSing fishing for a headshot is bad design imo. Problem is, I don't really know what the solution is. Just some random internet guy's 2 cents.

Honest question, as a new player is it worth learning the maps? I just get insta killed when I try playing on my pmc

Utilize offline and Scav runs to learn the maps, map knowledge in this game is huge, yeah there's not a whole ton you can do about getting 1 tapped, but if your movement and knowledge of the map is strong you'll have a better understanding of where to avoid, what route to run, how to stop and scout every so often to keep awareness up stuff like that.

Such a good point. My friend has gotten one tapped to the chest though a gen4 assault by a naked dude with a mosin with 7n1 rounds. Honestly I only wear armor at this point for scavs

feels like dark souls, at first using armour is extremely important, but as you start moving further into the game and reach new game + armour becomes useless because most enemies can kill you in a single hit.

@@Messm3r He's not completely wrong, the comparison works, you probably just haven't played souls enough to understand it. DS1 when you start a new character is like this game when it started, you get more and more armor to block the damage people do. But eventually as time goes on and you progress through, your enemies start dealing more and more and more damage. And that damage creep catches up with your armor and passes it to a level where no armor in the game will stop them from one shotting you. Thats what hes saying, is the damage creep of this game has gotten so high that now wearing even the heaviest armor in the game is a gamble because you still have a decent chance of just being one shot anyways, and hes right. You go in with a big ass altyn helmet and fort armor, and some guy just pulls out a mosin with good ammo and one shots you through your armor.

All armour does is make you invinsible to low level players or players with no money to spend on good ammo. 1k per round of BS. So people just use the mosin or hunter, instead of a military grade assault rifle.

Class 4 armor has saved my life many many times since the wipe hit. That being said, it’s becoming less usefully now that more people are starting to obtain good ammo and weapons.

Are there civilian rounds for 7.62x54? Also, I believe adding more Loyalty Levels with better balance of trades/buys would even out the midgame part of the wipe and make the game better progression/gameplay wise

I literally use the green WW2 helmet in my full kit raids, it has saved me countless more times than a fast mt or exfil

A major sweep through bullet pen/dmg values and armor values to increase ttk would do wonders for the game late wipe. IMO a major reason why early wipe is so much fun in the long ttk.

5:14 Some depressing shit right there, I like to play Reserve but everyone is playing like this rn, my estimate is that there is about 20 player scavs maybe more per lobby on Reserve, they just sit in corners next to a body, they don't care if they stay there 20 minutes 30 minutes, this people just waste 30 minutes of their life siting in dark corner just to kill a PMC that has 200k worth of shit gear and they feel amazing because the game now rewards playing like a rat with this shit weight system, a good example, military batery is 40 kg, yeah why grab that shit when you can just prone on the heremetic door and wait for someone to carry it for you risking their gear through the fucking map and then you just one tap them with LPS on the chest.

THANK YOU for this video. I've been so discouraged from bringing in any gear. Every time I do, I get shot once by a 7n1 or 7n39 or something. Been playing since 2017 and it's the worst it's been in my opinion. Nothing short of a class 6 will protect you long enough to outdo someone camping extract or whatever else.

We are currently playing a game billed as super realistic where you can take a 556 round to the heart, spine, or both lungs and survive, and then heal it by applying a magic medkit. Rising storm 2 has dramatically more realistic damage model.

I literally don't see any reason why the RS2 damage model wouldn't make this game any better. I like Tarkov but this once time I somehow found myself behind a PMC on point blank range as a scav, I shot him 3 times in the back of his neck with a shotgun, over 1800 damage was absorbed by armor and he just turned around me and kicked me in the nuts. It really made me think twice about this game.

That's it. I'm running the mosin from now on.

no one can really blame you given how strong the mosin is and how weak armor is. the problem is that so many people have the same mindset lol so tarkov will literally turn into Naked Mosin Man Simulator 2020 and it just wont be fun. it kinda already is like that and it makes it infuriating to play the game.

All I heard was "I want to be invincible for my stream content" You made some good points comparing the M995 to the LPS Gzh, I'll give you that. Hopefully it balances out in the future when weapon durability comes into play and they have a chance to malfunction.

Then you're fucking def. At what point did you miss 'Level 4 is useless, Level 3 is useless expect against Scavs, Level 2 is useless, Level 5 and 6 are your your best shots at not dying in 1 shot'. Weapon durability won't matter *when it only takes 1 shot to kill someone with M995 or 7N39.*

I havent had much fun this wipe then i have had in past - hope it changes. Id love to see this style game, of realism/ reloading mags / body damage in a BR setting.

I've been running only Penis helmet since I heard you tease this video on the last podcast. It makes so much sense. And your more likely to survive a Mosin shot not wearing armor because of the frag chance. A clean pass through is better then a fragmented pass through. Its going to go through eigther way.

BSG trying to make the game "harder" for everyone is whats ruining the game imo. Instead of adding actual difficulty, they just add in these tacked on, tedious, unnecessary restrictions and call it "difficulty". Key examples: Found in Raid mechanic in its entirety, flea market locked until lvl 10 instead of lvl 5, increasing the amount of xp needed to get through lvls 1-20, can only put ammo and meds in secure case, can't stack tri zip bags on your character EVEN in just the inventory screen so sometimes your bag is just stuck and can't get out unless you sell stuff. Find in raid should never have been added to the game for any item other than quest items which are already only found in raid. For example, do you actually think Mechanic gives a rats ass where you get the cigarettes from? Is he gonna take the carton of cigarettes, and examine it with a magnifying glass and then reject it because you didn't find it in some random jacket on customs? No, he asks for them and wants you to get them for him, no questions asked just do it. Makes 0 logical sense in the world of the game and the only reason it was added was because streamers complained that people were using the flea market for quests, which is a GOOD THING THAT THEY DID. No one was forcing you to find everything in raid or to buy it on the flea market, the choice was there for each player to make. Go into a raid and find it for free, or spend some cash and buy it from another player. But now because streamers complained that other people weren't making their own lives harder, now EVERYONE has to rng it in a raid. Same thing with the market, theres no bouncer refusing to allow you to sell something to people just because you didn't find it on a map. It takes away the players who enjoyed playing the market who knew what they were doing and could make some extra cash. I'm not saying they can't make the game harder or more hardcore, but they have to do it the RIGHT way. For instance, I think having to heal, eat, drink and all that stuff between and in raids is GREAT. Not adding restrictions that make no logical sense and make the game almost unplayable for players who don't spend 10+ hours a day on the game.

Very untrue you don’t need 10 hours a day so long as you make your raids count say you can only play 5 raids a day assuming you make it out 3 and 2 of them you get some cool shit your fine I happy with found In raid f*** the rate in this game it’s pretty much killed off hatch runners and lessened the number of pistol runners

He's obviously talking about the dogshit questing system and flea market changes. I've said it once and I'll say it again. Hatchet runners weren't a problem. No just because they're trying to make it harder to hatchet run doesn't mean they're right. You guys acted as if hatchet runners just went in and got everything on the map and then did nothing with it after they extracted. I'd argue that hatchet runners brought in more gear from making more money than most people, people don't just hatchet run to make roubles and do nothing with them. Every chad you've ever killed could have been a scav runner than used the money to buy gear. The entitlement from people like you and the rest of the "hardcore" players is fucking gross. Every single argument for why hatchet runners are bad is "I should have gotten the loot because I brought in a slick and meta M4 WAHHHHHHHHH".

@@supernannera Yeah, people who say that hatcher runners are the worst problem of the game are people who have probably never reached level higher than 20 and just want everybody they kill to be a full-out chad with Slick and Altyn and lowest recoil weapon - sorry kids, not gonna happen. The changes done to combat hatcher runners made the game harder (which is ok) but also more frustrating(which is not) for literally everyone - with the overweight mechanic you are better off being a hatchling than a chad. What all these changes in past 2-3 months achieved is to encourage everyone to become a rat every time they find something valuable/needed for quest - and hatcher runs are just as viable as they were before.

Pestily, what do you think about adding as much equipment as we have vs 2-3 years ago when it was only paca and fort? I agree fights are over too fast and bsg has always steered the game right but once a certain level of 'power creep' is reached it will be difficult to go back. More equipments = more money for bsg, but too many options can make the current issue worse. Would you like to see the complication added of inherent dodge/bounce chance in all armour /helmets? Even back then 7.62 ps could 1tap fort/fast mt. Love the game always will, this video rant was interesting

i mean tbf, tarkov is trying to be realistic, and honestly thats all a helmet will do for you IRL. Tarkov even pushes the line a little bit, IRL there is no such thing as a helmet that would equal class 6 GHOST standards, there are a couple that reach lvl 4 but they are extremely big and heavy. The biggest helmet in the game, Vulkan-5 (LShZ-5) helmet, irl IS lvl 4. Tarkov has pushed every single helmet in the game up at least 1 rating higher than it should be, and most are 2 or even 3 ratings higher than they should be. Keep in mind IRL GHOST lvl 4 (the system tarkov pretends to use) is designed to stop rifle rounds, 5.45x39 hardened steel penetrators. 90% of IRL helmets are NIJ IIIA, which is roughly GHOST LVL 2 and they would be as useful as a cardboard box for any rifle round.

I spawned it at the start of the raid with 3 enemies in customs big red.

Dreamtale fort armor helps when I go labs

I can assure you that at traders level 1, those armors dont feel useless when you are shooting at them

Pestily underrating 01m armor, the cheapest class 4 armor you can pick up for 47,000 rubles and repairs well.... has more slots than the Uley and its cheaper. usually always comes back in insurance too

In Survarium Mosin is tier 1 and there is a heavy tank armor Tier 5 helmet with like 200 armor. And you can one tap them.

a very interesting vid , i have watched so many streamers leval up the sniper skills , reloading none stop . what we need are solo only servers and get rid of raid times . i play by the clock .knowing where players are by the time is more of a problem than a one shot gun , i die in the first five minutes , or the last five . i don't even get pissed at exit campers now , because i know they are there and don't check properly

If they introduce the weapon failure mechanic they could have the mosin have a high failure rate early game till you get good with it but there is a 30% chance it misfires or jams in use. That way you have a variable of risk for even using it which will put off people using it or make engagements more challenging when it does fail as its an old gun

7.62x54 R has a cartridge capable of penetrating 6mm steel plating at 570~ yards. Your armor, unless caramic plates are involves, wouldn't stop that.

Weenie Helmet doinked two rounds of SP-6 from a Val guy the other day. I didn't have the weapons to fight those 2 thiccc bois on Interchange, so I still ended up dying. But I was amazed by the Helmet doing that much work for me.

that's all the endgame is. max 5-6/mobility armor, full recoil reduction builds and best ammo in slot. mid level players are only seen for the first month 1/2 after the wipe starts, after that it's only fully kitted chads and snipers.

In endgame you can skip the armor to lvl 2/3 for the scavs. Players will denie the armor with high pen ammo like 995,7n39,BS,BP,sp-6 so it's useless for the endgame

What if damage was reduced by the armor when the bullet pens. I know this probably isn't very realistic but it puts some use to lower tier armors while also protecting from being onetapped in the chest. Just to give a random example: Tier 2 armor reduced incoming damage by 20 % (arbitrary value, for the sake of this example) if the bullet penetrates. Tier 3 reduces damage by 25 % or 30 % when the bullet penetrates and so on. This would make it so that lower tier armor isnt utterly useless. This might also be a terrible idea. Any thoughts?

This is already in the game, go to the Ballistics page in the Tarkov wiki.

The funny thing is shooting bolt action rifle while standing isn't bad. It isn't that heavy of a rifle. Also the pkm is like 25lbs unloaded plus like a 100 or 200 rounds would add like 1 a pound or 2. More weight means less felt recoil. Standing or prone.

Yeah helmets aren't effective in real life either, they're too light typically for rifle rounds

“Head, eyes” almost every single death this wipe makes armor obsolete.

I get this completely, I think the solution would be gone the damage of ammo down and up the armor effectiveness. Leg meta will still be a problem but at least you don’t get 1-4taped through your armor.

i just started playing the game 2 weeks ago, ive noticed after the first week that armor isnt doing anything, i only bring a headset a rig a BP and a gun.
