@KlazeGamez not all actually. If you read through it originally the demons weren't demons and what they are right now is a result of their lust for power and search for immortality. Hell itself was supposed to be a beatiful and normal world until Davoth (who is immortal) went after the search for immortality for his people as he feared they'd become extinct and over time the land fell into ruins and turned into hell. Also most of demons are formed from the Husk bodies from which the Argent energy is extracted so Dark lords doesn;t really protect their people but use them as a pawn for most of the time

Never ceases to impress me with how expressive he is. The entire face is so well animated, every facial movement very obviously tells you what he’s thinking and yet you only get to see half of it. Really stellar job on id’s part

Actually you could,if you'd pay more attention to his helmet. I think id software decided to have his face more visible than what we saw in the main game, which, I realised, was only a foreshadow to what was going to happen next.

Same, though I still personally prefer Doom 2016’s helmet where you saw none of it. The best solution would be like in Metroid Other M where the visor opacity changes between combat and talking to others. Terrible game, but a neat idea.

That they put this much work into his face, only to cast him in a helmet for official release just shows you how much love was put into this game. ID Software deserves some real recognition for this.

Compared to the base game, the dlc seems to have more detailed facial animations on the Slayer. In the base game you'd often see some weird out of place animations, but here it looks very well.

The one thing I love is the fact that Hayden, without a physical form is effectively useless. Think about it; Doom 2016, he spends the majority of his time coercing you as his pawn to get to hell and grab the crucible, to then steal it off you "for the greater good". In Eternal, you grab his pasty broken ass where he spends most of his time berating you over your actions, and NOW, the lil shit thinks just because you gave him his body back and playing his game means he owns you. Lol. No.

He was a better character I think in all honesty and his motivation made complete sense as is without feeling like it undermined anything. Also, the whole clone body Hayden thing in the codex at least explains how Hayden transfered his mind into the ship as well as the samur makyr body. I guess he just knows how to move his conscious essence around.

The 16 year gap between games is confusing enough, but apparently the Seraphim had no problem with his corporation becoming a massive demon worshipping cult? And apparently he didn't have the foresight to realize the Doom Slayer would break his toys the moment he had the option? All of that while supervised - and aided - by whats essentially the Father? Yeah I dont buy it. I always thought Hayden was a real person who made a deal with the Seraphim to gain a new body, not, well, whatever this is now.

I love the irony in the story. The doomslayers entire existence now is his hatred for the demons and all who support them. 1:45 too, Samur talking about about him like he was a tool and you can see he didn't take that too well.

I think the moment the seraphim says to him "your gifts are owed to us now" is when the slayer realizes what's really going on you can even see it on his face. He gets a little angry and is probably thinking to himself "I don't owe you anything". I'm not sure when during the game but hayden starts getting really cocky with the slayer I can't remember the exact words but I remember thinking while hearing them "why the hell is he talking like that to him, like some master to his dog when he's misbehaving" the slayer must have been thinking the same during the whole time hayden was speaking to him. The seraphim saying "you owe us now" was the straw that broke the camels back.

*I loved how much god of this universe is very wise* "Your actions are İrreversible." He doesnt stop slayer as he knows slayer wants to end evil. He is simply warning slayer as there is no going back. And Dark lord of hell is very strong. He simply asks "Are you sure ?" He trusts slayer but he wants to see if slayer truly trusts himself.As this is a difficult task, even for slayer. "It is not required to kill him." God knows Seraphm is acting like a douche, and he deserved that beating. But killing him after this point is unnecessery, he is showing mercy yet letting them fight in The first hand letting Seraphm see that Doom Slayer is powerful and capable of doing the task at hand.

The intern: one of the few humans on the space station that actually has the balls to follow through with the slayers plans, even if that means killing a demon god essentially

In all honesty, Doomguy really didn't need him, he could return to his fortress using a stolen spaceship, open a portal to hell and use the same path he used in Doom Eternal to get into Urdak, there VEGA would help him with everything else. But he probably appreciated the extra support.

I like how the Supervisor tries to offer a handshake for Doomslayer.

@@thecommentguy9380 Considering what he's seen, and how Urdak was complicit to the suffering that Hell brought upon Earth, he definitely would think that. Had he gone along with the Seraphim's plan Urdak would've been revived, and who knows what plans they would have for mankind going forward, which I imagine is a risk the Doomguy would rather not take.

Actually after reading all codexes it makes sense. Because all of this, all wars with the Dark Realm actually The Father's fault just because he didn't wanted to destroy Dark Lord completely.

9:36 Slayer looks genuinely sad here. I guess it makes sense that if there was any moment for the Slayer to feel conflicted, it would be here.

11:00 imagine the amount of sheer anger he must feel right now, finally being face to face with the man that killed so many of his children who he loved. And now finally being able to actually do something to him without just watching without being able to do anything

Seeing them actually have Doomguy emote under his helmet is so cool. They didn't need to do that butt they still did. Doomguy has so much character despite hardly ever speaking

They put far more effort in giving his mouth some movement this time. Compared to the base game where it's always a stern frown Methinks Hugo saw that helmetless mod

This really makes me hope that we get a skin for Doomguy that doesn’t have the helmet, because they put so much work into animating his face, just to not show it

Talking to the Doom Slayer like he owes you anything after he has fought hell for ages.. that's not a good idea. Even if you were to have no ill intentions behind it. He simply does not take chances with entitlement as that is the first path to damnation. Now showing respect to him and helping him, now that's how you play the game. The Intern has got it right. Building a friendship with the strongest entity in the universe. I have a feeling that the Slayer would now be willing to go to hell and back to protect the guy. Literally.. preferably billions of times.

If you listen closely when Hayden disappears you can kind of hear snippets of Olivia's theme from Doom 2016.

I'm surprised that the Slayer didn't turn around and deck the Hayden at 3:34. He looks like he's BEYOND pissed off. EDIT: MEANT THIS SCENE. LOOKED AT THE WRONG SPOT.

I like how the ARC Supervisor (not the intern) stands on top of the stairs all triumphantly like he's in charge.

7:22 the WTDF expression Doomguy has in that moment for The Intern. Poor guy, I think he legit does not understand WHY The Intern is staying behind and helping him out

The Fathers voice is so badass in general so divine and wise.

To make you see and feel the way the Slayer thinks and feels without saying one word is just so fucking hard. It is awesome how every expression is animated with quality, even tho we don't see it. I really hope someday they release the Helmetless Slayer skin officially.

The Slayer Testaments said that the Doom Slayer was incorruptible. In the multiple universes that are in DOOM the Dark Lord must have been the one that was corrupted. Ended up leading hells army.

That's not the case at all. Read the codex for the father and seraphim. Dark Lord was actually the first being the father created. Back when there were no universes besides jekkad (which eventually became hell).

I love how he is seen carrying this massive orb one second, then he doesn’t have it, and then he does in first person. Classic

slayer doesnt even need a helmet he is just so tense and enraged that all damage doesnt cut deep enough

It would've been great if he smirked a bit when he was called DoomGuy by the intern.
