This was an ENORMOUS accomplishment. I watched the LiveStream. Only 22 completed the course. 18 retired or were eliminated. And these were some of the the best horse/rider combinations in the world. P.S. The commentators during the dressage thought Lee was scored a point or two low.

I was jump judging fence 4AB. So proud of how you and Lee handled the truly adverse conditions. You made absolutely the right decision to stop Riot at fence 4A after he hooked his front leg over one of the logs and refused two attempts. I don’t know if he misread it, slipped, or what happened initially, but we had several bad falls at 4B, and if you did not get a good jump in at 4A, you would’ve definitely had trouble at 4B and possibly would have gotten hurt. Several riders fell hard at 4B. So, from my perspective, it was an excellent decision to withdraw Riot at that point and try again another day before his confidence was shattered and possibly your leg! In all my years of jump judging at various three-day events and horse trials, I think these weather conditions were either the worst or tied with Rolex 2015 for the worst I have ever seen. By the end of the day, the volunteers were soaked to the skin and shivering with cold, which is nothing compared to what you must have felt. I have the upmost respect for you for performing under these conditions and doing it well.

Fantastic ride under such weather conditions! I held my breath at a couple of jumps. I was so excited to see your run live but your helmet cam footage is awesome. Thanks for sharing! Next year will be here before you know it!

I find these videos so helpful for counting strides. i'm a beginner, I've barely cantered, but I am super excited to (eventually) get to do jumps like this, after a lot lot lot of practice.

From the second fence onwards I was really worried. This looked extremely difficult and there was a lot of power steering going on!! Loved hearing the crowd cheering you on. I think of Lee jumping upright barrels in a halter, you are a freaking great couple and love your communication. Pity about Rye and looking forward to your analysis. Good luck in the jumping 🍀

This is an example how people should treat their horses. I honestly love so much the attitude she has with her horse cause it's obviously that she cares so much for the horse. Wish you luck in the future!
