Coming back to this video after so long and i never realized i could miss a song this much.. I love how he talks about his dearly departed Maisy and then playfully joke about sticking Matilda under if she misbehaves. Makes me think that he will love Matilda the same as he did Maisy and he will protect her at all cost.

Well, i'm back here again. Always a video that I can come back to if I need to ground myself. The loss of a pet is always sad, but then brings new joy and happiness. 6 years of this song, still never gets old.

I come back and watch this whenever I am down. It does a really good job of cheering me up. I got a kitten around the same time as you got Matilda so it is really nice to watch this and think about when my cat was a kitten.

just a simple Army When i was about two weeks old my mom found a very small and unhealthy looking kitten with a twisted paw in the road. She took him home and the vet said he was also about two weeks old. His paw was broken not twisted and my mom nursed him back to health. He died five years ago at 19 years old. He was with me for that entire time.

ooof.... mine died 18 in June....... just keep your eye on her, anything out of the ordinary, make a mental note..... keep her up to date with jabs and check her teeth.... other than that, it's just old age and not a lot you can do about it except keep your/her house warm and have lots of snuggles, food and string :-)

My cat got run over today 😔 I buried her and cried for hours. Afterwards it brought me back to the part about Maisie. I wrote my own little song about my beloved Точка to the same melody. It really helps with the pain. I want to thank you for writing this song, it's stuck with me even after five years of last hearing it

Thank you for this sweet song, my cat passed away after more than 19 years, he was just two weeks younger than me and watched me grow up. This kinda helps deal with that hole he left. Thanks

I've gone through all the Dabchick videos and I'm now coming back to this and realize this might be my favorite of the whole lot. Humour, feels and singing... and cat! :D

The amount of creativity and care to your content and Matilda is just nothing far from amazing and also quite touching. I saw other saying the same thing in the comments but I just want to show my appreciation for your effort of making these. Ps Matilda's a lovely name 😍

To be more specific it was the cat that they had for 17 years but it wasn't till 3 years ago she passed away

Years later, this and your Nina Simone cover in the speedboat video are still my absolute favorite examples of your voice! (And that's among quite impressive competition over the years!) This was the first video of yours I ever saw - came for a cute kitten video, was befuddled by a crass bird puppet, decided to stick around to see where it went, and then THAT SONG. Love your vocal agility and sense of humor!

This is the sweetest video I've seen in a while.

Our beautiful cat just passed away at the age of 7 and this gave me such comfort, what a lovely video.

I was just curious Katrina, but did you end up getting a new baby for your house and heart? I too, know the pain of losing a furry friend, whom you spend so much energy and time with building memories and positivity together. It hurts so much when they are gone. Bah, lousy onions...anyway I hope anyone/everyone who reads this is adding some joy to their lives. It's important, I believe.

Thanks for the love everyone! We did get a new cat, we rescued one and spent lockdown together. I was absolutely heartbroken when I wrote this message but have come to terms with it. He was a wonderful companion who I loved very much.

Mine passed away at 4 from cat flu horrible way but at least he wasn’t in pain and he seemed to be accepting of what was coming and I’ll miss him hope were all doing swell

I cried on Macy part. I lost my cat a few weeks ago, she was 13 years old. I miss her so much..

My cats have been gone now for many years. I still miss them more than anything. I dream about them, and sometimes at night I feel one of them jump onto the bed with me. That would be my boy, Hannibal, who always slept with me.

Genuinely one of my favourite videos on the internet, i find myself coming back here so often..
