This is the most mature Hellebores in my yard. The flowers have finish blooming long ago. But the flower stalk which used to hold the flower still look fairly good. Some of the stalks have rotted, dried up. Some are in the way of the leave growth. Since Hellebores go into dormancy in the summer, I cut off these flower stalk so the plant and leaves have a chance to get into good form and shape. It will look that way till winter arrives when the new flower stalks will push through.
