If you are on pc and use steam I have a few things that can help. So for one, restart the game once after you wait 5 minutes or so and that has been helping me not wait near as long for some reason. And if you have a steam friend already in the game, you can "join game" within steam before you ever start the game up. Just go to friends list and you should find it. This will allow you to completely bypass the wait and get you right in. Now it will have a black screen for like 1 minute when you do that and it will feel like it crashed, but it didn't. Just wait and you should be good. These things also work for ps5 if I'm correct.

even people who have bought it have barely played it yet with all the server issues.

The other ships aren't other player ships btw. You can tell cuz other ships around you in orbit get destroyed and actually explode when orbiting planets under robot control. its awesome to see if you ever just stand and watch

I believe the ships are represantations of players in your area.

The ships are real players and when they explode its actually when the group from that ship has failed the mission. Pretty cool!

There are different mission types, the bug killing and bot smashing is the same more or less, but the missions make you think of new strategies and how to do stuff. It's worth it, especially when they fix the server issues

@@Shane-ij5dk yeah what he said. Watching it is one thing, but pllaying it - especially on harder levels - is honestly some of the most fun gameplay you'll have, especially coop

I loved it, but now the game is unplayable. Shit servers and no fix in sight.

Online only even for solo play. Hard pass.

Because it’s a global war with everyone working together to liberate planets. Can’t liberate these planets solo. There can be anywhere from 10k-80k maybe more, Helldivers deployed to a single planet.

I'm kinda on the fence about this one. On one hand, the gameplay looks incredible. On the other, there is extremely intrusive rootkit anticheat (to protect their microtransactions, not the players), nonfunctional servers, and online only solo. It is such a monkey paw, man.
