Prince Charles was representing the United Kingdom, along with the Russian Prime Minister and the French Defense Minister due to a formal invitation from the Greek state because of the actions of those countries during the Greek Revolution which led to the establishment of the modern Greek state (most notably, the battle of Navarino where the fleets of the three countries destroyed the Ottoman fleet). Indeed, Prince Philip, was born as a Prince of Greece and Denmark (because the Greek Royal family weren't of Greek origin but came from the Danish Royal family, thus carrying both titles). Prince Charles' grandfather, Prince Andreas of Greece and Denmark who was the son of King George of Greece, fled the country with their family after he was found guilty of treason by the court martial set after the collapse of the front in Turkey during the 1921-1922 Greco Turkish war. It's worth mentioning that after the parade, Prince Charles visited the Presidential Guard barracks and gave them as a present a framed photo of a young Prince Philip dressed with the traditional kilt uniform the guards (called Evzones in Greek) wear.

Greece ain't a "small nation" to France, which is a "middle one". Greece is an ideal to most french pupils, who study its history as "a mother nation". Mathematics, philosophy, research... Invented by the Greeks to be aligned with a major European nation. Greeks are far more genetically associated with the Turks, Southern Balkans and even the Levant.

Second, 750,000 men 22 divisions 1,378 guns 759 tanks 830 aircraft 6 armored trains is what invaded the Netherlands and besides the Netherlands and Germany were friends so the attack was by surprise and most of our army and navy was overseas. @Player Player my bro, I don't want to turn this into a Greek vs Dutch thing oke ? Both great countries and friends. What I meant with resistance is resistance during occupation not during the invasion. The Netherlands is a tiny country and with the Germans having big guns we didn't want to lose all of our main cities. Again, my original post was about the 1600's where we fought off the worlds main powers. plus you said there was zero resistance which is a lie.

@Player Player I looked into the invasion of Greece and I also found out that the Italians and Germans didn't invade at the same time. the Italian invasion failed and when Germany invaded a few months later they occupied Greece in 24 days.

The fact that the Evzones still had to do their duty while this was happening just shows how the Evzones never stop gloryfying the people who have lost their lives to save Greece

Thank you and greetings from Greece. In Greece we are proud of our Ancient and Byzantine past; hopefully someday we will embrace also our rich Ottoman past. Our contribution to the Ottoman empire was very important and it is a pity to hide it. In the end our people were split mainly on religion and not on ethnicity. In a more mature world, the Turkish President would also be in the celebrations.
