Gotta be quick at the beginning of a match if you dont have a spotter you play with. Just hover over recon until someone selects spotter and you might get lucky.

hiding in a random spot camping sniping people isn't talent, it's been the easiest thing to do since snipers were introduced to the fps genre. What is hard about sniping in HLL is being able to pick the sniper role. The only real talented sniping can be found in games like CS GO or other ones where you push hard with a sniper or hold an area fairly close to the enemy. This guys is just a typical camper and nothing special. Grats dude you can click on people who can't even see you. Good work XD

This is by far the hardiest shooter i have played in my life. I finally had a insane moment today. Accidentally ended up as a officer of a squad and 3 of us just botched up in a building and enemy team did not decide to even check. as a squad we racked up like 15 kills. Greatest experience yet!! But damn hard!!!

I think it is hard because the gunplay is easy if that makes sense. It seems accessible and fairly easy to get kills which means most people are threats even if they aren't conventionally skilful when it comes to shooters.

Keep going. I hated this game at first. This is far more of a thinking game than it is a reaction game. Soon ways into objectives will become clear as you learn what keeps you alive and what doesnt. Soon youll be averaging 20 kills or more a game.

Shooting from so far far away, that view makes it look like you're playing commandos 2 behind enemy lines xD, very nice video dude

Got 15 kills without dying as machine gunner while holding off the enemy from the north east tower. They were trying to use the lower walkway while the rest of my team was fending off a pair of Shermans on top of the bridge. Even sniped the enemy machine gunner who was in the tower on the opposite end of the bridge.

I agree man sometimes I'm running through an autumn forest and just look around in awe of how beautiful the game is. some areas on hurtgen come to mind. I like some areas on foy as well. I also LOVE the fg42. Got some serious kick but it packs a punch.

THAT was really cool to watch. First time I've seen anyone snipe from that kind of elevation.

One thing I love about this map is the fact there’s only one way across the bridge and that goes for soldiers and tanks. Securing the bridge cuts off all ways of transporting goods and reinforcements.

Thats epic. Especially since I live very close to Remagen where the old bridge base on the Erpel side of the Rhine still stands.

I hate that games like CS:GO and COD have made people think that being a good sniper is no-scoping and close range stuff. The role is literally to suppress and harass, and dude you do that amazingly! Some of your shots are brilliantly clean!

Tbf in those games maps aren’t typically big enough to use snipers in a traditional role, and they’re so fast paced that anybody who does is just seen as a nuisance because players don’t expect it. Then on the other end of the spectrum, those who do quickscope and are good at it are an even bigger annoyance because there is almost no recourse since they can one shot you before you can put them down. Essentially, snipers in small-map, fast paced arcade shooters are annoying no matter what 😂 much more satisfying to use and tolerable to be killed by in large map games like BF or HLL

Once in the start of a battle I saw the name of this dude on the other team, I always play as a sniper, later in the battle I got into a skirmish with enemy sniper(he was axis) he killed me quite ugly a couple of times at first but eventually I overcame the sniper, I was so proud of myself that I held my ground against the best, only to find out at the battle stats that I was fighting with enemy teams other sniper and I haven't even came across alpine sniper 🤣

Silly question perhaps.. but my biggest struggle in HLL is seeing individual pixels from 400m away. I can't do it but I'm sure everyone else can 😂

I love how often when you shoot someone you watch there body fall down you dont zoom back out straight away after just scoring a kill 😁👌

If you get a body shot it’s not automatically a kill, better to be sure.

Usually I hate playing on Remagen unless we have a good commander- or at least one who knows how to airdrop. Otherwise it's just a meat grinder on the bridge, but that position you were in was nuts

If you stick a Tiger on the top of the hill, you can have a closer spotter designate places to shoot for infantry or vehicles, letting you shoot and kill from 2-3 KM, and basically almost into the top spawn.

I love when i see snipers like this, meanwhile we get pounded by enemy arty and we lose the strongpoint. "heh, if people just got my KDA we would win"- Snipers. Do your job.

Really nice video Alpine. RECON MUST GO TO ARTY, Such caveman thinking. But it has its advantages. When i play as commander i dislike when Recons squad say ``But i am a recon squad`` such a bad excuse for being asked to pull back, Because we need recon support covering the infantry squads advance. If we are on our last point or even or second point losing and the recon squads do nothing at all except for dismantling nodes and camping an artillery not even in use. Recon squads are amazing for going one row behind the contested front line marking, OP´s, Garrisons, Tanks, Infantry movement. Relaying that vital information back at the commander will make a match easier and less off a stressful situation for All Officers in the battle.

I find it impossible to ever be a sniper in this game. The recon squads are always full and if you manage to get one you’re only the spotter. Managed to spawn as a sniper the other day, got excited and realised there was nobody else playing 🙈😂

Oh god I see the muzzle velocity is all messed up in this game. He is firing from a distance of at least a kilometer, but the bullets reach their target in a fraction of a second.

"Recon must go to Arty." whenever necessary, unless the boi with the scope is this talented.

Love the fact that there's type I carbines in this game.

Imagine how fast those shots would have to be going to hit that instantly after firing from such long distances

bridge map is the best for sniper. I remember I had about 62 kills was an adrenaline rush, there was so many enemies I didn't know which one to shoot first.

Maybe one day i'll get the chance to play as a sniper in HLL :/

Have never tried the sniper because I don't wanna go arty hunting. I would just find me a great spot and kill everyone. I already get a ton of super long shots with no scope, I couldn't imagine what having the sniper would do.

I feel your pain. I am at level 37 and only got the sniper role 1 time. But then I accidentally hit some button and lost the role almost immediately. Me and my ape hands...!

What GPU/CPU is this running in? My 3070 barely makes it in low but I'm suspecting it is my old Ryzen 2600.

Alpine if I may ask, im curious. When you mentioned "got in an argument with that one guy" I figured it was about the role of a sniper. I would just like to hear a little bit about it if possible. Curious on how other people feel about it and as to how it lead into an argument.

Some servers will specifically state that snipers MUST kill arty. But even alpine has said in a previous vid that it starts to feel like you're baby sitting it. (this is arty's fault not snipers) He did a good video recently about how arty detracts from this games overall gameplay and fun factor. They fix it by simply making it a call in which would be nice. Anyway pretty sure the argument was over that; the dude was saying that snipers must always and only camp/kill arty. >_

How i see it as that recon is the only teams that can put ops in locked territory and thats why they are tasked with taking out arty/ dealing damage to the back line. If arty is a huge problem for the team ie taking out massive pushes or keeping from defending well then recon should break off from defending or attacking and deal with it because they are the only ones that can spawn close to it. But they dont need to sit there all day if they want to find nodes or back up garrys. Thats how i see the role and how i would like the role to be played. There are two recon teams so if need be only one needs to be handling arty the other can defend or attack i suppose. But when recon teams dont handle arty but just rack up massive kills but you still lose the game, you are only hurting the team and making others not want to play because its not fun to spawn and die to arty. Plus taking out nodes is really helpful to the team because it limits the other teams abilities.

I agree with alpine man, make arty a call in and replace with mortar teams that are shorter range

@@kev1734 That argument is settled by communication. Most of the time when I complain about recon not going to arty is when they are all on the points and not even in the back lines. And I don't necessarily agree with that line of changing it. Arty is a game changer and can change the tide of war just like tanks, so having teams whose primary goal is to silence that if it's an issue shouldn't be a problem. This is a team based game using communication and tactics, everyone has a role to play. Saying recon shouldn't have to go back there because they want to sit in a bush somewhere and rack up massive kills is not a good argument. They should always be back line of enemy disrupting the flow of resources and spawns. It's the COD mentality of high kills meaning good player that skews this argument. And if the enemy has a good squad on arty one recon team sometimes isn't enough.

@@kev1734 I think most of the players of HLL agrees that arty in its current form is unfun. Its not fun to get killed by arty, its not fun to babysit the arty and isnt fun to get spawncamped in the mid hq. But if the arty is left unchecked its almost impossible to play against, so you kinda have to kill it. Recon should be disrupting their backlines and relaying info their team, and unfortunately until they fix arty, killing arty is a big part of it.

there should really be a cap to a players turn speed when their sprinting and such it would make for a more realistic game

144 is the limit of most advantage in fps because anything more is negligible in both ms delay and smoothness...nvidia even made a falloff chart about it, quite awhile ago, when 360hz monitors came out.
