    Another great area that I totally forgot to mention in this video is bridges. AT mines work great on either side of bridges, but I always try to get the mine on the enemy's side of the bridge if possible. This means there is less of a chance of the destroyed vehicle blocking the bridge for friendly movement. Purple Heart Lane and Hurtgen Forrest both are good examples of maps with bridges that work well for mining. Also, the mines you place are not removed when you die or switch roles. They are only removed if they are triggered, destroyed, or if you place new one that despawn the old ones. Thanks again for all the support!

    Do they despawn as engineer if you placed 4 but switch to AT ambusher and place more mines?

    Also important to note, as of update 9, you cannot place a mine inside an owned strong point (either friendly or enemy). The game prevents it. However, I do believe that if the strong point is in the process of changing hands (ie it's being capped) then this restriction is lifted. Weird logic on this by the devs, but I have come across it with both AT and AP mines. It's actually a useful thing to remember if you're playing offensive recon on an offensive map, and you're pushing behind enemy lines trying to determine where the next cap points will be. You know it will be 2 of 3, but you can eliminate the odd one out by going into it and trying to place your AP mine. If the game allows it, then you know that's not one of the next cap points. You can then pass this info up the chain to command chat and the attack strategy can be amended to suit...

    Short tip: should you as engineer seasaw or otherwise get a friendly supply truck stuck. You can use an AT mine + AP mine and then shoot the AP mine to trigger. same goes for immobile enemy tanks/trucks of course.

    Very good video, the mines are not easy to place for effect, at least not by me; i try to hide 'em and place 'em on cross roads and on places that i know that overlook the strong point. We gonna need this tutorial when the URSS comes out the 27th, use effectively the mines, as the passive weapon that they're... it's not that easy.

    Great video, great channel ! will 2 mines placed together take out a heavy tank for sure ? also do you know how close they must be to be triggered to explode together ?

  • @GebatronGaming

    Yes. Can confirm that 2 AT mines placed next to each other will destroy a heavy tank. The mines will detonate each other if placed within 14m of one another. Great questions! Thanks!

    Another great video! May I add a great place to drop mines? At the end of trenches! For some reason tank crews love to scout the end lines of trenches. In fact I have satcheled tanks by using wooden sides of trenches where I see a tank looking for me. Popping your head out in quick fashion, and they come running ( careful here as they might just send a round towards you! ) I have laid tank mines around NODEs also and collected a few "free " kills that way. The lesson is if you have em use em! Try not to die with a full AT and AP pockets full.

    Thx for the info again, awsome guide, but I have a question: if you put a mine behind a tank ,like at the end of the video, but you dont explode it, instead you wan to tank to back up on it with the smoke let say or whatever, will it explode anyway if the tank dont roll over the mine with the track ? cause you place it in the middle. I was just wondering if they can roll over mine without hitting them with the track do they explode anyway? @GabatronGaming

  • @GebatronGaming

    Two points per zone. Still one per sector, but yeah. Early on it was a lot of fun trying to coordinate between the points, but eventually people stopped defending both points and just all crowded into one and the mode was essentially played the same way it is now.

    Haha! My father and I were deer hunting many years ago. A deer came out of some trees my father pushed and was running across a field away from me at an angle. I put my gun up and just about shot but I didn't think I was going to hit it. And if I did hit it, it was going to be an inaccurate and potentially messy shot. My dad asked me why I didn't shoot so I told him. He said that you shouldn't take any shots you're not comfortable taking, but that you aren't ever going to hit a target you don't shoot at. I guess it was his way of saying you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Haha! Thanks for watching!

    How do you know when your mines have been destroyed?

  • @GebatronGaming

    @GebatronGaming

    Жыл бұрын

    There is no notification or anything like that. It’s why I suggest “mine memory” at the 01:42 minute mark. The only way to know for sure is to know where you placed your mines. If the friendly mine indicator is gone from the map then that mine has been destroyed.

    You mean Belgium Gates? You can only place them on minor roads. So on Carentan it's the yellow roads and not the red ones. Other maps vary on what they colour major \ minor roads. Seems a bit of a weird design decision, but maybe they were deemed too OP it you could put them on the major roads.
