Dude!!! That is epic! You clearly did your research. I have 80 to 90 % of the same gear you have. But it took me watching MANY different peppers/bushcrafters/survivalists to buy all my kit. I have built this kit over the last 2 years and many people in my friends and family circle are now interested to start prepping. I can now just forward them your list and vids as you basically have what I have. Really appreciate the hard work. And I'm sure your videos will help many others prepare. God bless

This is a typical mistake that a lot of edc folks make, especially when you dive deep into the rabbit hole. In a edc bag you want to suppliment then have room for real everyday items. A lot of that should be put into a dedicated bug out bag. Instead of just packing a bag to the brim I would separate them into different kits. Urban Prepper has a ton of videos on organization.

@@229dave46 You can use it as a flame extender with something like cotton balls, you can keep leather and wood from drying out, can put it on non-stainless steel to keep it from rusting, it can help remove things like pine resin, for chapped lips, or stick some kind of wick or natural wicking material into a small container of it as a candle. Prolly more but that's all I can think of

This video is important because it is a perfect example of why splitting your gear, caching and cross-loading essentials on your person is the way to go. There’s enough quality gear here to build 3 bags. Suggestions to make this a bag that arrives on-scene rather than the kick ass bag sitting in the trunk: 1. check laws re: decompression needles 2. 86 the deodorant stone 3. 86 the full size light (it’s nice but way too big) 4. 86 the utensils -save the spoon 5. Leatherman onto belt 6. swap 36 bank line 86 the blue cordage 7. 86 the radiation monitor 8. 86 the EMP bag 9. keep the Baefong radio lose the other one 10.knife to the belt 11. rip a few feet of Gorilla tape & lose the roll 12. lose ALL the extra device cords & wall chargers 13.lose ALL the extra batteries save for 1 replacement each 14. lose the red o-light set I’m going to stop here because the points been made. This guy can shop for gear with my complete confidence any day of the week but the thoughtfully built bag is a boat anchor and huge investment. Better to split the tools & have a backup bag elsewhere in case of robbery, loss, separation etc. Nonetheless big props for knowing quality from Amazon shite. I'm feeling really inadequate with my Altoids tin.

Afternoon. From a old retired world traveler for Uncle Sam… (1). Far, Far to much equipment my son. (2). If you carry that much around you’re absolutely going to draw attention and become someone else’s EDC/Prep gear source (4). Make sure you train with that equipment. None of it looks like its been field tested, ever. (5). I’m impressed how you can recall the specs of each piece of gear which tells me you have the facilities to increase your survival knowledge, make more of your equipment multi functional and reduce pack weight. Knowledge is power, not an overly loaded bag of gear.

He forgot to list the donkey to carry that thing. There's some good stuff in there to be sure, and it is pretty complete, but that's more like a bag you keep in your car than an EDC.

You’ve got enough redundancy to build 3, maybe 4 kits that you could then stash or give to friends/family. Think about what you’re realistically likely to encounter. Most of this would be in a truck/trunk bag for me and mine. Earthquake, wildfire or mass cas event occurs there’s not many situations where we wouldn’t be able to run to the car and grab the bag.

I never thought of using swimming goggles to also protect from dust. That is a good idea

Given that anyone can buy handcuffs online, my idea was something like if I saw someone illegally restrained, rather than try to fashion a paperclip into a makeshift handcuff key or try to break the cuffs, I could just simply unlock them. Unlikely? Maybe, but do we only plan for the most likely?

@@DontForgetYourLunch35 I personally only plan for the likely- even though the temptation to do what you’ve done is very, very strong. 😀 If I don’t, my bag gets unwieldy very quickly. True story- during the pandemic I was on top of my prepper game. It got to the point where my bag was so tightly and perfectly packed that, rather than getting deeper stuff out of it when needed, I started buying duplicates of those items. That got the pendulum swinging the other way.

@@ClintThomsen We're all on our own preparedness journeys I guess. My philosophy is that the value of having a stocked EDC/Bugout/Get Home... kit is mostly psychological. In the unfortunate event of a personal or more widespread emergency, the ability to refrain from panic by taking solace in the fact that one has at least some gear close by could make all the difference for many.

Great job! I prescribe to the philosophy that 2 is 1, 1 is none. It is always easier to dump gear you don’t need, than try to aquire it last minute when you need it.

True. The reason for two batteries as apposed to one is so that I can loan out to family and friends if the situation is bad.

You certainly have a great del of stuff for an "EDC" bag. I would challenge you to have more situational awareness however. Right now you are gear heavy, SA low. Medical, specifically, trauma, belongs on the outside of the bag. As does your self-defense (pepper spray). When you need those two things, you NEED those two things now! Same thing with the handcuff key. A handcuff key buried in a tool kit within a plastic bag is useless. It serves no purpose. If you REALLY feel you need one, it should be concealed on your person or sewn into your clothing. Go back and ask yourself, "Do I really need all this stuff?" If your answer is yes, and I would be surprised if it still is, then go back and pack it more realistically. Just my two cents...

I just checked all your videos. Coincidentally your approach is similar to mine. I have to admit, that you have a lot of stuff in there. I made some compromises and made it much smaller and easier to carry. Also I fit the gear into 2 pouches, which can be carried as chest rig. The idea is, that my EDC bag gets me to the car, where I have my GHB. (with some duplicities). If I have to use GHB, I take out the redundancies and carry the rest of the gear in chest rig, which is much more comfortable to wear along with backpack. It is also easier to switch between bags if necessary.

My definition of EDC is that it’s always within 100-200’ of my person (usually in my car). If I need anything it takes only a minute or two to get it.

FYI: A "currier" is one who dresses and colors leather, after it is tanned, from the Latin "corium" (leather). A "courier" is a runner or messenger, who may likely carry a "courier's bag". Just thought you should know. Using the right terminology lends credibility to your presentation. If you're going to carry a Faraday bag, your radios should be in it.

That's a really roomy pack! I think there is nothing wrong with carrying too much, then there is enough for extra people when needed, like right after hurricane Ian, you would be everyone's friend and help! For me I have to try to go as small as possible while getting the most of what I have because I can't tote much weight. Luckily I have small nimble hands to use tiny tools.

I know you have tape in the bag, but I would recommend you put some tape in the medical pouch. You need something to hold all those bandages in place. You don't want to have to dig into the bag for it. 😊

Damn i really like the swim goggles for particulates, was trying to find some slim full seal eye pro for awhile and that never crossed my mind. . Forgive me if I missed it, but was there no sewing/repair kit beyond glue and tape? Also would be interested to hear the weight of the full kit considering the redundancies of flashlights/electronics. if your carrying a small and a bulky power bank anyway, might look into the ones with solar charging. Again apologies if i just didnt hear it, but a wallet fresnel magnifying lens adds some utility and firestarting redundancy at basically zero bulk or weight. Taking into consideration the lock picks and pry bar, a "firemans swipe tool" such as the Firepik on amazon or even a diagonally cut carpenters square could prove useful in emergencies. Maybe even a humble small door wedge to prevent accidental lock outs or to add an extra layer of security. Id personally swap one of the blankets for a poncho. Overall very impressive, truly amazing level of utility for the size of bag.

All good suggestions, thank you. I have an Exotac ripspool sewing kit that I could add. Door wedge is another good idea. Just weighed the bag, currently 25.6 lbs, so not lightweight in the least. I have a Powerfilm lightsaver max in my Get Home Bag (will be my next video) that can recharge all powerbanks pretty quick. This EDC bag is part of my overall Get Home system, the goal being having the ability to pick and choose gear appropriate for the situation, rather than need gear I didn't pack. I'll look into the Firepik today. Thanks again.

Hello, It is always interesting to see others EDC. Regarding yours there are good ideas (google etc) BUT I miss the "why" you built this bag, what are the scenario you are thinking of. Without the "why" it brings people to criticise your choices. For me EDC Is for EveryDay Carry, I can hardly picture myself with such bag on a daily basis (but I am not you of course) It is obviously overkill for just coming back home in a day or 2 and lack shelter gear (I do not count the constructor bags). For me too many duplicate. I know the "1 is none and 2 is 1" but you have so many batteries, flashlights, multitools etc... what is the weight ? Could you outrun some agressor despite the weight of the bag ? I'm looking forward to read more explanations in order to better understand the bag content. Thanks for your time.

It looks more like a Bug-Out bag to me! .. An admirable effort by our guy but way too much for EDC here in a tropical country major city where i currently reside. I agree strongly with your "WHY" query....He must have a reason in mind for this load out.

A bit overkill in my opinion, but if you are happy carrying it all good on you.

How do you locate and find what you need in an emergency 🤔, fumbling?

Do you really cary this with you every where you go? Or is it just a car bugout bag? Why the handcuff key especially if it is so deep in the kit. If your handcuffed wouldn't they take your gear? Why not a back pack? I personally know from alot of experience it had to travel far and fast with a 25lb satchel. Last question would it not be a good idea to have a slightly over sized bag for you gear to 1. Make it easier to get at stuff with having to take things out (adding to being able to access and go quick) 2. To be able to carry things you might find that would be useful while on the go? I also ty to be prepared I personally travel much lighter and relie more on my skills of improvisation. That being said I would love to run in to someone like you at a time with stuff hits the fan.

This bag goes everywhere with me, but I usually keep it in the car if I'm out, or in the house when I'm home. I keep a SERE kit on my person, but the extra handcuff key would be for other people (obviously for those illegally restrained by non-law enforcement). I like the suggestion of having a bag larger than needed in order to make finding stuff easier. My EDC bag is a constantly evolving concept so I'm open to modifying it as time goes on. That Grayl will only do something like 96 gallons. Seems pretty paltry compared the sawyer squeeze bag which can do 100,000 gallons (or so it says).

True, but the Grayl filters viruses and chemicals/heavy metals, whereas the Sawyer only does bacteria and microbes. Each has their place. Maybe an ideal pairing would be the Grayl with the Sawyer.

That simply isn't an EDC kit... Every day carry kits are kits that you carry every day, and I find it difficult to believe that you would carry 10 kg on your back and most likely never have to use it. That's a great kit to leave at home or something like that, and grab in case of emergency, but not an EDC kit!

That’s just nuts but hey, each to their own. I’d be interested to know how often you check this and especially all the batteries you carry. Are you qualified to administer needle decompression? Also why the staples? I’ve never seen civies carry this and this item is not even included in any combat medic kit.

I top off rechargeable stuff every couple months. Lithium batteries are good for many years in my experience. I am qualified to perform needle decompression. And the staples would be extremely used if getting to a hospital for a wound requiring stitching is impossible.

Way too heavy on the electronic crap, and ya need one good light preferably a headlight with one backup not 6-8 lights and definitely not 20 different batteries/power cells. Way too much crap to edc and ya sure as heck wouldn't want to pack it very far.

The question is how to solve a situation with gear minimization, not about carrying a hardware store around. What good do the handcuff keys in that bag inside the pouch? Why 2 powerbanks? Too much gear.

In the market for a good SOF-T tourniquet, but I opted for the Swat-t tourniquet for now because its multi-use. It’s basically just a long roll of rubber. Also with the redundancies, my idea is being able to loan out a power bank to friends/family without it being my only one. Should there be any emergency and I need to travel light I can always dump gear.

Some of it is new. The majority is newer versions of things I’ve used in the past. A lot of comments take issue with my using the term EDC with this kit. The idea is this kit goes everywhere with me, while not always being on my person. Maybe I should coin a new term: Every Day Accessibility Kit (EDAK). What do you think?

Theres a lot to unpack here, pun intended. Firstly, what is the purpose of this bag? What do you envision the scenario(s) you’ll encounter on a DAY TO DAY basis? This is where i think the definition of every day carry needs to be looked at. Most people’s definitions align with this statement:”these are things i use almost everyday day, in scenarios i often encounter.” And this is just an average definition from seeing so many of these videos. Your definition i saw was something like 100-200ft away from you, like in the car. Great, then its not an EDC bag alone, its an EDC truck bag. But then, why a messenger bag? A backpack would be much more comfortable to carry, and easier to organize. You can keep the pills in with the rest of the medical! But hey, whatever is organized to toy i guess. But getting back to carrying, which is the last word of EDC, if its in the truck then is it and E D C? Emphasis on the C, CARRY! And with 3 inventory sheets, that’s heavy man, a backpack would be more comfortable and easier to do things like run, without being slapped or having to tilt because it throws off your center of gravity so much. And for items that actually might be used most often, you have them buried, like the lighter you pull out at the end. The organization is kind of odd. You have power supplies buried. Are those backups to ones you already use? If so, why arent they in the faraday cage? And theres things that don’t make sense! Tbh i got kinda lost. It’s literally 19 minutes of just unpacking gear. But medically speaking, you have something as niche as a chest decompression needle and staples but only 2 pairs of nitrile gloves? With that much kit i dont think 2 is adequate. Here’s where understanding your profession might provide insight. You seem to have a lot of medical experience, so you are a medic or in the medical field? Becuase then, hey youd have access to all the gloves you need. Just grab more and throw em in. Somewhere, its packed pretty full. You have electronic equipment in a faraday cage but the radio isnt? Pepper spray isn’t immediately accessible? Wood pencil but no sharpener? Yeah you can use a knife, but what about using it with a stick for dry tinder? And sharpening the pencil. You have a compass but no map. Okay, so you will navigate with your knowledge of the area then? So if you recognize where you are, why the need for a compass? Great to have, but the lack of an explanation for that and many other things just get lost on me. Explain your reasoning for why you carry this! How often you’d encounter said scenario to justify it to yourself if nobody else. I don’t need to agree, but having any understanding at all of where you’re coming from was lost on me. If you retitled this video to “ultimate redundancy truck/get home/bug out messenger bag” it would be more fitting, because it’s more in line with those roles! I think your definition of EDC is flawed but the gear selection and redundancy is fine, if not, extremely overkill in a lot of ways. Again, what scenario(s) are you envisioning? Whats the philosophy of use? Things like a saw but no holder. It feels like many kits that are incomplete in some ways. This feels like if i asked “what are you carrying this for?” Your answer would be “anything”. Well, this bag seems to be a jack of all trades master of none. No clear objective or scenario here. A BOB seems the only thing that truly makes sense here. Oh, and i saw NO leatherworking tools. Which makes 0 sense because this is a CURRIER bag you say. Or did you mean COURIER? Words matter man! Theres no excuse here. Takes away your credibility, and makes people go “well, this guy doesn’t know the difference between a currier and a courier, and he says currier multiple times when the website literally says ‘courier’?” I suppose unconventional definitions are your thing, you define this as “EDC” which is fine, theres nothing set in stone, but i don’t know many guys rolling with inventory sheets of stuff for something on em, EVERY DAY. Unconventional to say the least. Creative, but unconventional. Please, next time provide a mission objective, envisioned scenarios, anything! This just looks like a bag you tried to fill completely with gear for any possible scenario but none at the same time.

Are you trained to use the decompression needles?

A little bit overkill, but, yeah... The first aid things u have. You should mark them up so that other can find things easier. You know the "A.B.C.D.E" Airways, Breathing, Circulation, Disability? But maybe you're thinking all this stuff is ment that you should be the only one to use on yourself or on others. If I was gonna help you for example I would never be able to save you bc you have so much stuff unmarked...

I'm looking to make a bag like this for everday situations as well as capacity for a get home bag. Would you recommend a satchel/messenger bag style like this or a backpack/sling?

If you want a get home bag then I suggest a sling or backpack, as carrying a messenger bag for distance isn’t ideal. Stay tuned for my next video which will be my version of the get home bag.

As a Medic I will tell you to get rid of the needle decompression. Unless you have specific, HANDS ON training, you should never attempt it. You can very easily kill someone. Also, it's going to be very difficult to justify legally why you performed such a treatment, especially considering there are BLS ways to manage a Tension Pneumothorax until ALS arrives. Most doctors will come after you legally for performing it. Your first aid section should be minimized. TQ, Israli bandage, gloves, Combat Gauze, and a several 4x4's is all you need. You don't need a stapler, petroleum gauze, or chest seals. You can makeshift a chest seal. Get some training before you get yourself in trouble.

Thanks for the comment. I actually do have training and I have used these items in real life. I would only dart someone if I knew them and there were no other options. I’ve put a lot of thought into each item in this kit. Please don’t let your baseline assumption be that everyone else has no idea what they’re doing.

I always over kill my bag aswell but I think of every scenario and just add things that people wouldn't think to bring plus my normal wilderness survival gear to it just depends on where I'm going

The thought process is that I would use the dosimeter to find areas of lower exposure and hunker down until radiation levels have dissipated. It can also let me know my total dose of radiation received.

Pretty simple, wipe area, stick over wound, they even have picture instructions on the pack if its like my compact ones of the same brand. I think the better question is how confident is he with the decompression needles. Then again if your in that situation a syringe size hole probably wont make things much worse.

I would suggest getting some kratom because it’s a great pain killer but beware because it’s very addictive and you can have weird side effects if you aren’t used to taking it such as an anxiety attack. But I think that really happens when you use it too much. But it’s as effective as Vicodin for things like toothaches. Just get organic and do your own research. Not medical advice here. Use at your own risk. But if you’re having real pain and it’s the apocalypse you’d be glad to have it. If you’re having really bad pain I doubt you’d have a panic attack because you’d be happy to just not be in pain. I have had a panic attack before taking it a few times but eventually I just realized it’s just the kratom and it stopped happening once I saw it for what it was. It’s just a mental idea that can be overcome with the correct perspective. My experience anyway. It can also give you a burst of energy for a couple of hours even when you’re exhausted if you’re not taking it regularly so if you’re exhausted, it’s the middle of the night and you need to bug out or wake up really quickly it would be great to have. Always eat food with it such as a banana or you can get nauseous and drink a glass of water. You should be fine. It’s a very unique herb. Because if you take a little bit, it gives you energy, but if you like double the dose, it kind of creates a narcotic affect, but even small doses reduce pain. I don’t hear a lot of people talk about it on survival or preparedness channels, but in most states it’s legal and it’s way more effective for pain reduction than Tylenol or stuff like that. Of course if you have a toothache that’s really really really bad. Nothing is going to work, but it takes quick care of mild to moderate pain. You just have to be careful because it does often come with a euphoric effect and you can get addicted and the more you take it. The less it works and it can actually make you depressed if you take it too much, so if you don’t really need it for pain, I wouldn’t take it unless it’s an emergency in the middle of the night or something. and you need a quick boost of energy. There are apps you can get for iPhone and android from companies that sell organic Kratom for a very good price. If you get it at liquor stores or head shops, it’s often very expensive but you can get like a kilo of powder for about $90 if you go on the right app and they’ll send it directly to your house.

I apologize. Not sure what happened with this video but I think all the kinks are worked out now.

At first, I read the comments which says the setup is too much for an EDC or even for a BOB. Now I know thats my type, cause people thinks they could get to their cars, homes, shelters and pick-up all the stuff they prepared and move to a bunker to spend a few years off the grid. If SHTF you guys will barely find a moment to breath. being in that emoutinal situation, not having enough information of any kind will make you busy,too. What will you do if you can't reach your car, and if you reached what will you do if you can't reach home and again if you did what will you do if you can't leave your car or home being trapped, etc... Being ready is being ready to any situation. There are tens of millions of preppers arounda the world who doesn't even have a map or a binocular. Anyways, let me watch now :)

But if you disagree with that then we can agree to disagree this is a ready pack that may follow you everyday but if it's not on you in a emergency it very possibly won't be with you when you need it. Not saying that ready bags don't have a place and that you can't make it part of your daily life but it's not an edc item if you don't have is on body all the time.

That’s pretty much 3rd line gear. I doubt you’d carrier that thing grocery shopping or taking your kids to the park…Learn more about lines of gears and cross loading. EDC (pockets & belt), 1st line (duty belt/battle belt/ war belt [I don’t care what terminology you use]) 2nd line (chest rig or plate carrier), 3rd line (bolt bag or ruck sack [I don’t care which terminology you use])and 4th line (vehicle load out & resupply [because in the zombie apocalypse/SHTF scenario you will be your own resupply]).

It's E...D....C.... Most of us don't wear a battle belt and chest rig every day. I agree he needs to rethink and repack, but mentioning a battle belt and plate carrier in an EDC discussion doesn't really fit the topic

When your way to work goes through Afghanistan and Ukraine... Jokes aside is to much equipment and the organization is off, f.e. the handcuffs key in the bottom of the tools bag. I don't know your environment, but if you need so much equipment I assume is in the middle of nowhere but you go and come everyday?. Don't know man, I used to drive 100km to get to work (and 100km back) everyday, through the country side... Nothing but a road of dirt and never needed 1% of that, just water, food and fire, redundancy is ok but you overkill... By the way, why you carry you water bottles without water!?
