My dream was always to fly either fighter jets or military helicopters, but when I didn't make the cut (in my country, it's very, very difficult - maybe around 1/1000 applicants make it through), people told me to consider being a civilian pilot. But I've never had any interest for civilian airplanes - as they're simply not comparable to aircraft such as fighter jets... But later on, I realized that military and civilian helicopters aren't really that different, and that's why I'm currently doing my ATPL(H)IR at a flight school here in Europe - and I love it!

For starters, great content! There is a ton of channels like this for fixed wing, on the rotor side they are few and far apart. Keep it up! I am in the process of completing my fixed wing instrument rating, and have the intentions of going all the way with fixed or rotor. I love fixed, but my girlfriend is also a pilot and it would be easier if one of us was home based. I've done an intro flight to rotor and loved it. I've weight the pros and cons way too often. Fixed wing clearly wins but I can't shake the idea of rotor lol.

Fly both, each have its pros & cons, but by far I love ❤️ my helos! Heck it’s our current version of the flying car, not exactly like the Jetsons, but we’ll get there soon 😃 #SkyBaum

Thats a great analogy! Not exactly like the jetsons just yet but really close!!

I always recommend my students get both... private airplane and private helicopter *build as much airplane time that could be counted towards helicopter commercial, by far you will understand more and save money

Great video: however, your interpretation of what is safer and mission/utility use is way off. I will say you did correct yourself towards the end of your video by says it's your opinion due to the fact that you fly helicopters. It's all about what the individual likes and comfort, which defines how safe the pilot feels in that platform. I was an Amry crew chief for years and have been a fixed wing pilot as well. I do agree that each has its pros and cons.
