This is a job, not a hobbie,,Animals are shot for food or sold. Deer were introduced to New Zealand for hunting, they are not native to New Zealand. If you don't like hunting then do not watch this vid.

When you get out of the chopper after you've shot, are you recovering the deer or taking the tail?

Gday Les, we recover the deer for sale or for the freezer, thats why we use ropes/ strops , ,,, to lift the deer out .

What are you constantly fiddling with on that shotty and what injured your finger?

Pilot wanted gun set with cartridge out of breach when not in use ,and the gun jammed after shooting first deer, cut finger trying to un jam it. Pilot just playing it safe as this was our first time working together, some shooters in the past with diffrent pilots have blowen holes in bubble and floor cause they playing with trigger while leaving gun loaded with safety off,

Not sure whats going on with the comments here? My reply keeps disappearing??? Yes I did a bit of shooting with Alex when he was in Opotiki, and driving aswell. And yep the best job ever, thanks for commenting 👍👍

@@nzmeateater still doing a little drone stuff just had 5 days in the hills chasing tahr buggers where all up hight this time not sure why could be a number of reasons seen plenty little meat taken and a load of laughs and fun . how bout you ya still in hoki

Another machine {R44} had just been through before us, he cleaned up, we were just left with the scraps lol.
