This song almost completely destroyed my PTSD-like symptoms I had for months. The trauma and scars healed faster because of this band and especially this song. Heilung music has an incredible mystic and healing properties to it.

My smile has returned. I have suffered many losses. But, the music is healing.

I know it's a year down the road, but I hope the both of you found peace and serenity. My own mother is 76, frontotemporal dementia, and it is not an easy task for either of us. I think I'll play this for her, as you did.

This is the only one song that I only play with headphones. And when I do, I can play this song for hours. Then I can feel my soul.

Heilung, As an adult on the Autism spectrum that was diagnosed at the age of seven my greatest enemy is anxiety and overthinking, I have a hard time sleeping sometimes. This is the song that I listen to when I can’t and it helps tremendously, and I can’t thank you enough.

This has always been one of my favorite songs. Seeing/hearing it live in Milwaukee was an incredible experience. I am a beekeeper, and on my way to my apiary, I play Heilung and keep playing while I walk to my bees. It helps me to find my center and become one with nature. I thank you each for such moving music and such an incredible experience live. Truly special and impact so many of us positively.

Maria’s voice is exactly how I imagine a Valkyrie’s would sound. Absolutely unreal how much beauty and power she can muster. Makes the hair on my neck stand up!

Heilung, with this playing in my head and a little bit of blessing from above. I was able to obtain my CDL license. My grand father drove horse and buggy, my father drove buses, I’m going to drive trucks, my 2 year old son is telling me he wants to drive buses. All that to say, thank you so very much.

Congrats on being a "Knight of the Road" good sir. Most folks give no thought to how food gets on shelves, supplies, infrastructure, you name it. We all owe you and your lineage.

Too bad I stumbled upon this band as I turned the corner from late stage to end stage emphysema, as the time I have to enjoy Heilung has been cut drastically short. These works are a testament to the awesome power that is music. If I was able to travel, I'd be absolutely ecstatic to watch this live. But alas, I must enjoy these rich tunes from the comforts of home.

Listening to this makes me feel like I'm a Germanic warrior stalking the Roman Army before the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest.

So much of our culture was lost to the west. This music speaks to the spirit and reminds me of my lineage.

I love em all that are being mentioned here, as well as Jay and Bent's analytics on the subject. The frequent rains aside, in the Netherlands we never had a reason to complain about weather compared to the Brits, untill 2011. Eversince it is hot summers and soft winters.. I can't help but notice too many people complain about "these times" like it's out of their hands. You"ve got to realise you have the ability (like heilung) to make a change and to make your own path. We are the future, the present and the past of this world. Don't act like because of hipsters and all that now all of a sudden you can't live the life you want to live. Work hard for it and make/take it.

@@ZmeevArthur Maybe (just from listening over and over), it's part of the Fáfnismál, the infamous stanza #16 or 17 where the 'helm of awe/terror' is mentioned? I hear this part: "bar ek of alda sonum, meðan ek of menjum lák; einn rammari hugðumk öllum vera, fannk-a ek svá marga mögu." You are right though, coming from two different eddas they don't make literal sense together, but more sense as a 'theme' being one of ultimate protection. Groá sings protections for her son and the stanza that Fafnir speaks to Sigurd about the 'helm' that protects him and his treasure from all harm (well until Sigurd shows up).

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part since it would thematically make some sense. Guess we have to wait for the album release. It should be awesome.

@@TheGingiGamer Ya the first and last parts of the song are Old High German (from the Mersebrug Charms), the main part of the song with Maria singing is Old Norse (from Grogaldr) and the part with the men singing is Old Icelandic (I think it's from the Helm of Awe but not sure on that one)

Okay I absolutely love this conversation the Old Norse being sang is known as the washing verse and in English it says I wash my hands of my enemies hatred the greed and wrath of powerful men. The Old Norse we know today is based on the 12th century Icelandic reconstruction of the language so yes you would be correct in saying Icelandic is the closest relative to the Old Norse language in the fact that it's where a dead language was reconstructed so normally there would be Icelandic influences in the New Old Norse language

I still have no idea what this comment format means. No matter how many of them I read , and they're basically the only way most people write comments any more, I just can't get my head around what they are supposed to mean. Fight your depression. I know it's so difficult sometimes. It's like having someone pour a truck load of quick drying concrete down on top of you before you can even get out of bed but the rare occasions when I've fought it, it has changed the entire day for better. Thankyou, I am happy to not be crazy....or, if I am crazy, then I am glad to have company. I have felt out of place all my life. This music is a call to me to come Home. They are waiting for me. Thankyou for comfirming what I feel so intensely.

Here I am, an Indian woman in New Delhi listening to this and discovered this today. Heilung is a spiritual experience. I would love to learn their language. I am an intuitive tarot reader and have recently learnt how to read runes. I can tell you one thing, this culture has been the most intuitive, grounding and mystical experience for me so far! I used to think us Indians are mystical but i have been proved wrong. I don't understand a damn word in the song but it speaks to me intuitively. Much love to you all from India

The kind of chant one can use to wake up the entire Yogi community in Rissikesh, blasting it over the speakers to echo in the valleys and forests. ;-) We used to have mysticism and spirituality in Europe at one point. I love their music and when I introduced my mom to heilung's music she was a little discouraged but once she heard the transition especially for ananao she was in tears

I suffer from a generalized-anxiety like disorder, your music is literally the only thing that can bring at least a few minutes of peace in my brain without that feeling of nothingness from psychotropic drugs. Thanks to you I have the chance to feel myself in my true form, without all the suffering from living, be it from love, loss, money, future... just myself as an individual soul, not even a tangible body. Sometimes I happened to have self harming or even close to suicidal thoughts and you're saving me from all that, until I heal my mind. Theres no going back after the few songs ive heard from them. @@Pottan23 They might just exaggerate with this a bit. It definitelly does something with people including me. It calms me down, sends constant chills through my body, sometimes even tears and lets me think. It´s like meditating but with a certain connection to nature, primal times. You just forget all your modern problems and just feel grounded and ease in your soul. It literally heals you like their name "Heilung" says and they even said that it´s their goal to touch peoples souls and work with sounds that create exactly those feelings in oneself. I understand if some people don´t get feels from that at all but I also do get it if some people might even say listening to this is life changing.

I listen to Traust in a loop. Everyday. It still gives me shivers. Heilung is just the best thing music has seen. So magical.

Everytime I hear Heilung, Danheim, Wardruna and all thoose who share this beautiful songs, it's always a pain for me to think that I'm forced to stay here in Italy surrounded by only things that I hate. I love the Northern part of Europe. Is my dream to reach those places and end my life there. These songs are too powerful and made me understand what I really want for me. I'm only 18 years old and this is the only music that I love listening and the only music that makes me feel incredibly alive, but at the same time the distance between me and the places from which all this was born makes me feel incredibly out of place and alone. There is nothing worse than being forced to call home what does not make you feel at home.

Language is totally irrelevant in music.

I’m Puerto Rican with Spanish and Taino ancestry with small splashes from other areas of the world. Music like this, I find myself drawn to the most. It is so calming and yet can get the heart beating with it. I feel so much from this kind of music. The chant-like vocals, the percussion and vibrating sounds gives me so much. I do not even understand the language and yet I feel like I get so much out of listening to this.

American here: Sometime I need a break from the modern pop songs, especially later in the 2010s, alot of early 2010s pop songs, rap song, and rock songs are actually pretty good in my opinion; none beats this when a break from cheap modern music is needed.

At moments like this, when only think I am doing is listening to the Heilung music I am happy to be alive. There is no stress, no sad feelings, just pure joy and happiness. As far as I know, I don't have any Nordic blood in me (Scottish maybe...but not by a willing supplicant), but this speaks to me on a cellular level. This music is deeper than notes.
